The Enforcer Next Door

All Rights Reserved ©

Summary

After years of violence, bloodshed, and being the man people called when they wanted problems solved permanently, River is done. He buys a small house on a quiet street, keeps to himself, and enjoys the peace he's spent his entire life chasing. No drama. No crime. No attachments. Then Harper Bennett moves in next door. The newly single mother is drowning beneath bills, exhaustion, and a vindictive ex-husband who refuses to accept that their marriage is over. River tells himself helping her shovel snow, fix a broken fence, or carry groceries isn't getting involved. It's just being a decent neighbor. At least, that's what he keeps telling himself. When Harper runs out of babysitters thanks to her troublemaking preteen son, she turns to the only person she trusts: the silent, intimidating man next door. River would rather face a room full of armed criminals than spend an evening supervising a twelve-year-old boy who clearly hates him. Unfortunately, he's the easy one. The real problem is Harper. Because the more time River spends protecting her little family, the harder it becomes to remember why he wanted to be alone in the first place. And when Harper's ex takes things too far, River discovers that leaving his old life behind is a lot easier than keeping it buried. Especially when the people he loves are threatened.

COMING SOON

River escaped his old life.

Or so he thought.

The last thing the former enforcer wants is a neighbor. Especially not one with a sharp tongue, a stubborn streak, and a son determined to make his life miserable.

Harper Bennett is everything he should avoid.

Too kind.

Too tempting.

Too easy to care about.

But when Harper’s ex-husband refuses to accept that she’s moved on, River is forced to remember exactly who he used to be.

Because Harper thinks she’s falling for a quiet man who keeps to himself.

She has no idea she’s living next door to a monster.

And monsters don’t take kindly to threats.

Especially when they’re aimed at the people he loves.

A dark romantic suspense featuring a retired fixer, a fiercely independent single mother, a troublemaking preteen, found family, protective obsession, and a hero who will do whatever it takes to keep his people safe.

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...
