.The summer air in Dharan was thick with a heavy, golden heat, but inside the upscale cafe, the atmosphere was perfectly chilled and dripping with luxury. Scandal sat with her friends, looking every bit the part of a city girl in her elegant emerald-green velvet dress, her long hair pinned sleekly at the top while cascading into soft curls down her back. Yet, the familiar knot of anxiety tightened in her chest; she still felt like the same insecure girl from the village, completely out of place.

The mahogany table was filled with laughter and a luxurious glass hookah curling thick smoke into the air.

"Oh, come on, Scandal! Just try it once," Swifty urged, pushing the sleek pipe toward her. "You survived exams, you need to loosen up!"

"Yeah, stop being so reserved," Taler chimed in with a firm nudge. "We aren't letting you sit this one out tonight."

Caught between her own hesitation and the forceful pressure of her best friends, Scandal felt utterly overwhelmed. In her flustered state, her fingers brushed against her phone. It slipped from her hand, clattering loudly against the polished wooden floor.

Embarrassed, Scandal instantly leaned down to retrieve it. But as she bent over, she realized her tight dress was riding up, making her feel intensely uncomfortable, exposed, and vulnerable.

Just as her fingertips touched the glass screen, a sudden weight draped over her shoulders. It was a jacket.

Scandal froze, her breath catching in her throat. A rich, unforgettable fragrance drifted from the fabric—the exact perfume she had carefully chosen and given as a gift to the only boy who had ever truly held her heart. A single, hot tear escaped her eye.

Through her blurred vision, she noticed a tall, handsome silhouette kneeling right beside her. The gentlemanly boy looked like he had stepped straight out of a storybook.

Their friends watched in absolute bewilderment as the boy reached out, his fingers closing around her fallen phone. A voice broke the silence—a voice that made Scandal's heart painfully ache.

"Why are you always so careless?" he murmured softly.

Scandal sat there trembling under the weight of his jacket, holding her intense emotions back and looking completely innocent and heartbroken. Gently, he wrapped his hand around her arm, holding her in an intensely protective, magnetic way to help her up.

By now, the table had gone completely hostile. None of them knew anything about Scandal's past.

Taler snapped, crossing her arms. "Listen, you just walked in here. Are you seriously trying to interfere with us? We are her friends."

The boy didn't flinch, his hand still gently holding onto the trembling Scandal. "She didn't want the hookah, and she doesn't want to be forced. Why are you all pressuring her?"

"And who exactly do you think you are?" Swifty demanded, stepping forward defensively.

The boy looked down at Scandal, his eyes softening with a deep, painful history, before looking up at her friends.

"I am Heaven," he said, his voice steady but heavy with emotion. "Scandal's ex-boyfriend."
