The Devil's Devotion

Summary

THE DEVIL'S DEVOTION His Little Bird Synopsis: Nineteen-year-old Addie thought she knew what terror felt like until she entered the perimeter of Damian—a cold, ruthless billionaire whose power is as absolute as his dark obsession. Trapped inside his iron fortress, she is subjected to his dominant, animalistic nature, a captive to a man who controls her every breath. But when a fragile pregnancy changes the stakes, the rules of her confinement are violently rewritten. To protect his legacy and shield her from stress, the beast forces himself to gentle his rough edges. The cold tyrant vanishes, replaced by an overwhelming, hyper-attentive protector who smothers Addie with priceless gifts, decadent luxury, and 24/7 "princess treatment." From hand-rolling gourmet meals to satisfy her midnight cravings to carrying her up the grand stairs so she won’t slip, Damian behaves like a man deeply, unhinged-ly devoted. Yet, beneath the silk blankets and white truffles lies a chilling reality. Behind his soft smiles stands the monster who calmly promises to kill her if she ever tries to touch the child. Living inside this golden cage, Addie finds herself trapped in a torturous psychological tug-of-war. As the days bleed into weeks, his profound care starts to blur the lines of her hatred, tempting her to fall for the man who saved her. But the phantom memories of his true, predatory face act as an iron wall, refusing to let her forget who Damian really is. Can a little bird ever truly love the devil who clipped her wings? Or is this suffocating devotion just a beautifully crafted nightmare waiting to end in blood? Themes: Dark Romance, Power Drama, Captive/Captor Dynamics, Psychological Suspense.

Chapter 1

The corridor outside the classroom echoed with laughter as a group of girls hurried toward the staircase.

“Come on, just one class,” one of them whispered dramatically. “Live a little.”

“I don’t know…” Addie murmured softly, her knuckles turning white as she tightened her grip on the strap of her bag. “What if someone finds out?”

“You worry too much.”

Her friends dragged her along, their rowdy laughter swallowing the rest of her protest. Before she could breathe, they pulled her out past the elite foundation gates and into the crowded street.

And then—

She collided with someone.

The sudden impact made her stumble backward, but a firm hand closed around her forearm, steadying her before she could hit the pavement.

For a second, the roar of the city street cut out entirely.

He looked down at her.

Inky black hair.

Sharp, unreadable features.

A white formal shirt with the first few buttons undone. Expensive cologne cut through the street air, sharp and out of place.

A cold, commanding presence that hung heavy over the noisy crowd.

And as she looked up—

The midday sun hit her eyes and he saw it—soft, gold-flecked brown, completely unaware.

His dark gaze locked onto them, remaining fixed for a beat longer than it should have. He didn’t let go of her arm.

“S-sorry…” she whispered quickly, her voice barely audible as a rush of heat hit her cheeks.

She tore her arm from his grip, stepping away in embarrassment, and disappeared with her friends into the shifting crowd.

But he remained standing there in the middle of the pavement.

Watching.

The gold in her eyes still seared behind his lids.

Possessed.
