Psychologically speaking
"We are immediately thrown into multiple situations and feel a sense of disarray. The principal split personality character walks us through and provides theories for us to make sense of the chaotic world around him. The story showed steady progression, psychological insight to the mind of a person with Dissociative Identity Disorder and the struggle they have when not fully in control of their cognitive faculties. SPOILER: The principle caused of Allen’s DID was.... unsatisfying. It seems unlikely that a Siamese twin would affect Allen’s mind . A more evident trauma should be explained and the overt DID should be focused on in the last two chapters. This could provide better closure to the novel. "
