Chapter 1
The roar of a sleek black luxury car shattered the unnatural silence that hung over the mansion.
It wasn't an ordinary house-it was a palace of wealth and power. Towering walls, grand pillars, and sparkling chandeliers stood proudly, yet not a single trace of happiness could be felt within its walls. The atmosphere was haunting, like the eerie calm that follows a devastating tsunami.
The car came to a smooth halt.
The door opened.
A young man stepped out.
Tall. Sharp. Impossibly handsome.
He wore a perfectly tailored black-and-white suit that screamed power and authority. Dark glasses concealed his eyes, making him unreadable. Every step he took carried a cold confidence that demanded attention without asking for it.
His name was Fateh.
Inside the mansion, a young woman struggled to remain conscious.
Her eyes were swollen and bloodshot from endless tears. Strands of messy hair covered her pale face. A thin trail of blood escaped from the corner of her lips. Her hands were tightly bound, and every part of her body trembled with exhaustion. It looked as though she had fought a war all by herself and had finally reached the point where she could fight no more.
Four guards held her firmly in place.
Beside them stood a couple.
Their faces held no warmth, no mercy. Their eyes were filled with cruel satisfaction, as if the entire world was finally about to belong to them.
Then she saw him.
Fateh.
For a brief moment, something flickered inside her broken heart.
Hope.
Safety.
Home.
Summoning the last bit of strength left in her shattered body, she pushed herself forward. Her trembling legs threatened to give up beneath her, but she somehow managed to take a step toward him.
Tears streamed down her face.
Pain and love battled within her eyes.
Her lips quivered as she whispered a single word-
"Fateh..."
It wasn't just his name.
It was a plea.
A prayer.
A desperate cry for salvation.
The entire hall fell silent.
Everyone waited.
The young woman looked at him as though he was the last light left in her dark world.
But Fateh's expression never changed.
Not a flicker of emotion.
Not a trace of sympathy.
Nothing.
He removed his gloves calmly and stepped closer.
The girl's hopeful eyes searched his face for reassurance.
Instead, he spoke two words that shattered her soul.
"I'm sorry."
Before she could understand what was happening, Fateh pressed a syringe against her neck.
The sedative entered her veins.
Her eyes widened in disbelief.
No.
This wasn't supposed to happen.
Not him.
Anyone but him.
The last thread of courage holding her together snapped instantly.
Her vision blurred.
The world around her began to fade.
As darkness consumed her consciousness, the final thing she saw was Fateh's cold, emotionless face.
Then-
Everything went black.
The moment her body hit the floor, loud laughter echoed through the mansion.
The couple burst into victorious laughter.
The guards smirked.
And Fateh?
He simply stood there.
Silent.
Heartless.
As if the girl who had looked at him with so much love meant absolutely nothing to him.
Or perhaps...
He was hiding something far more dangerous than hatred.
