"Status report," he snapped, his voice dripping with superiority. "And make it quick. I don't have time for incompetence today."
Mary Parker, standing at his side as Commander, kept her expression calm. "All systems are nominal, Captain. The mecha bays are ready. Amin and Cassandra are suited up and waiting in their cockpits."
Prince let out a sharp, mocking laugh. "Of course they are. Because God forbid my useless son and granddaughter actually disappoint me for once in their immortal lives."
He turned toward the viewscreen, sneering. "You hear that, Earth Headquarters? The great Parker family is 'ready.' As if the fate of this pathetic galaxy didn't already rest on my shoulders. The rest of you are just here to stay out of my way."
From the communications station, a nervous officer spoke up. "Sir, Earth Command is hailing us. They're assigning our first mission."
Prince waved a dismissive hand. "Patch them through. And tell those desk-jockey idiots that if they waste my time with another trivial assignment, I'll personally come down there and remind them who actually runs things around here."
He glanced sideways at Mary with a cruel smirk. "You three had better not embarrass me out there. Especially you, Mary. Try not to play the saint while you're piloting that overpriced tin can I generously let you have."
Mary met his gaze evenly. "We'll do what needs to be done, Captain."
Prince snorted. "Of course you will. Because that's all you're good for — following my orders. Now get those mechs out of my ship and go make yourselves useful for once."
"Now Launch."
The mecha detach from their cradles—
three streaks of light firing into the void.
A new chapter begins.
A new frontier opens.
The Parkers step into the Starfaring Era.

パーカー・プリンスは手を払うように命じる。
「くだらない任務なら、私が直々に乗り込んで誰が本物の指揮官か思い知らせてやる。」
彼はパーカー・メアリーを横目で見て、冷酷に笑う。
「お前たち、私の面子を潰すなよ。特にお前だ、パーカー・メアリー。
その高価なブリキ缶を"貸してやってる"んだ。聖女ぶるな。」
パーカー・メアリーは静かに返す。
