"⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4.5/5) I really enjoyed this first chapter! The slow buildup with the mysterious mold, unexplained water, and strange noises created a creepy atmosphere that kept me reading. I liked that the story didn’t reveal the creature right away, which made the ending much more intense. The creature itself was genuinely unsettling, especially the description of it crawling out of the ceiling. The final scene was suspenseful and felt like something out of a horror movie. My only suggestion would be to tighten the dialogue a little and trim some repeated explanations in the beginning, as it slowed the pacing slightly before the action picked up. Once the creature appeared, though, the story became very engaging. Overall, this is a strong opening with an interesting premise, and I’d definitely continue reading to find out what’s really behind the infestation."
