The Book Of Life
Have you ever found a book that could magically give you whatever you wrote in it? Most people would think such a thing exists only in fairy tales. However, this story is about a mysterious book that changed the life of a man named Ravit.
Ravit was an investigator who never believed in magic. He was known for solving difficult cases and finding logical explanations for strange events. Whenever someone spoke about ghosts, magical objects, or supernatural powers, Ravit would simply laugh and say that everything had a scientific explanation.
One rainy afternoon, Ravit was assigned to investigate an old store on the edge of the city. The store had been abandoned for many years, and people in the neighbourhood believed it was haunted. Strange noises were often heard at night, and some people claimed they had seen mysterious lights inside the building.
Ravit did not believe any of these stories, but he decided to inspect the place carefully. As he walked through the dusty rooms, he found broken furniture, old paintings, and shelves covered with cobwebs. While searching through a dark corner of the store, he noticed a small wooden box hidden beneath a pile of old newspapers.
Curious, he opened the box and found a strange book inside. The book looked very old. Its cover was made of dark leather, and there were strange symbols engraved on it. The pages seemed unusually clean despite the book’s age. Ravit examined it carefully but found nothing special about it.
“This is probably just an old notebook,” he said to himself.
Since it looked interesting, he decided to take it home. He placed it on a shelf in his bedroom and soon forgot about it.
A few days later, Ravit decided to clean his room. While dusting the shelves, he noticed the strange book again. He picked it up and opened it. To his surprise, every page inside was completely blank. There was not a single word written anywhere.
That night, Ravit needed to prepare a shopping list for the next day. He searched for a piece of paper but could not find one. Then he remembered the blank book.
“It will do for now,” he thought.
He opened the book and wrote several items he needed, including bread, milk, fruits, vegetables, rice, and a few household supplies. After finishing the list, he placed the book on his table and went to sleep.
The next morning, Ravit woke up and rubbed his eyes in disbelief. All the items from his shopping list were neatly arranged on the floor of his bedroom. The bread was fresh, the fruits looked perfect, and every item he had written was present.
At first, he thought someone was playing a prank on him. Then he wondered if he had somehow bought the items and forgotten about it. But neither explanation made sense.
To test the mystery, he opened the book and wrote, “A new shirt and a pair of pants.”
He stared at the page for a few moments.
Suddenly, a bright flash appeared in front of him. When the light disappeared, a brand-new shirt and a pair of pants were lying on the floor.
Ravit stepped back in shock.
“This can’t be possible,” he whispered.
He touched the clothes. They were completely real.
Over the next few days, Ravit performed many experiments. He wrote the names of books, tools, furniture, and other objects. Every time, the items appeared exactly as he had requested.
Now he was certain that the mysterious book possessed magical powers.
Ravit became excited. He realized that the book could give him almost anything he wanted. Soon, he started using it regularly. Whenever he desired something, he simply wrote it down.
His small house quickly filled with expensive furniture, electronic gadgets, beautiful decorations, and piles of money. He no longer worried about bills or expenses. Everything he wanted appeared as if by magic.
At first, Ravit was careful and responsible. However, as time passed, greed slowly took control of him. He stopped appreciating the things he had. Instead, he always wanted more.
Instead of helping others, he began thinking only about himself. He spent hours writing new wishes in the book. The more he received, the more he desired.
One day, he looked around at his luxurious home and thought, “Why stop here? If this book can give me anything, I should become the richest man in the world.”
Without hesitation, he opened the book and wrote:
“Make me the richest man in the world."---
For the first time, nothing happened.
The room became silent.
The pages of the book began turning on their own. Then glowing words slowly appeared on a blank page:
“Make me a better person first, and then I can make you anything.”
Ravit stared at the message. He read it again and again.
For the first time, he realized how selfish he had become. The magical book had given him everything he wanted, yet he was never satisfied. Instead of using its power to help others, he had used it only for his own benefit.
He felt ashamed.
That day, Ravit made an important decision. He would no longer use the book for greed. Instead, he would use its power wisely.
He began helping poor families by providing food and clothing. He donated supplies to schools and hospitals. He helped people who were struggling and used the book only when it could make someone’s life better.
As he helped others, Ravit discovered something surprising. The happiness he felt from kindness was greater than the happiness he had felt from all the wealth and luxury.
Years later, Ravit became known not as the richest man in the world, but as one of the kindest. The magical book remained with him, but he had learned its true lesson.
True happiness does not come from wealth, luxury, or magical gifts. It comes from kindness, honesty, generosity, and good character.
From that day on, Ravit used the magical book wisely and helped people whenever he could.
