All Rights Reserved ©

Summary

No access for minors. Li Shu, a quiet high school girl, transfers to a new class and sits next to Jiang Chi—brilliant, aloof, and intimidating. A tutoring arrangement evolves into stolen kisses, secret touches, and an unnamed bond. They navigate family pressure, exams, and the fear of falling too fast. When her mother discovers the relationship, Li Shu is forced to return to her hometown for exams. She leaves without goodbye, returning his necklace and cutting all contact. Devastated, Jiang Chi writes twelve undelivered letters—one for each week apart. Months later, he appears at her door on a rainy night, drenched and unyielding. Their reunion is raw and healing. Through tears, they voice their fears: she worries she holds him back; he insists she is his choice, not a sacrifice. They reconcile, no longer naive, but grown through loss. Finally, back in their old classroom, Li Shu finds the letters. He reads each one aloud—confessions of longing, regret, and unwavering love. Their story comes full circle: from the timid girl who once asked her intimidating deskmate for help, to the young woman who knows she is cherished. A tender, wistful tale of first love, sacrifice, and the courage to hold on—even when the world says let go.

The Price of a Promise

A pack of boys crowded at the back door, hollering for "Brother Jiang" to come out and play ball. Their racket cut through the nearly empty classroom with grating clarity.

Li Shu darted a glance from the corner of her eye and noticed the boy beside her, who had been glued to his game, finally stir. His phone screen went dark, his head turned—he was about to get up. Her right hand, still clutching her test paper, shot under the desk and seized the sleeve of his left arm. "Where are you going? Didn't you promise to tutor me?"

Jiang Chi didn't budge. He swiveled his head back lazily, meeting her eyes. "Deskmate, if memory serves, you just turned me down, didn't you?"

Li Shu held on, her voice urgent, grasping for logic. "But you said last time that if I did what you asked, you'd help me!"

"Last time was last time. This time is this time. I charge by the session," Jiang Chi said, the corner of his mouth curling, his eyes tilting up with amusement. "Last time's problems were easy. This time's are complex—takes two full hours to go through a set. Naturally, the terms change."

"I told you: agree to my condition, and I'll tutor you. Refuse, and I'll go play ball. Next exam? You're on your own."

Jiang Chi was born with striking features—the kind that made you think of a goddess's masterpiece. When he kept quiet and cold, he almost looked aloof. But now, with that teasing smirk, he leaned close to her, tapped the desk, and rose to leave.

His movement jerked her arm upward; her fingers, still clutching his sleeve, turned white at the knuckles. Her mother's reproachful voice echoed in her mind—the aftermath of her slipping grades. Li Shu looked up at him, her almond eyes glistening pitifully under the fluorescent light. "...Don't go. I agree."

The boys at the back door had waited forever. Finally seeing Jiang Chi stand, they bounced their basketball, ready to welcome him—only to watch him turn his sharp-jawed profile and say, with unmistakable cheer, "Busy. Not coming."

---

After school, the teaching building stood empty. The moment the bell rang, the whole class had bolted out like a swarm. Li Shu tiptoed through the corridors, her backpack strapped tight, terrified of being caught lingering on campus.

Her lone footsteps echoed in the hollow stairwell. The setting sun spilled over the wall, bathing her pale face in gold. Dejected, she moved like a tortoise, each step weighed down as if her backpack might snap her frail spine at any second. Counting the floors in her head, she climbed the last step and turned toward the activity room.

Before she reached the door, a light scoff cut through the quiet. "Sneaking around like that—what, are you a thief?"

Startled out of her brooding, she looked up sharply to see a boy in a black hoodie slouching against the wall, arms crossed, his face a mask of mockery.

Frowning, she shot him a glare. "If I'm a thief, what does that make you? Don't act so innocent."

Jiang Chi grinned, giving a small nod. "Fair enough."

He straightened up—tall even when slouching, he now towered over her with an almost oppressive height. Li Shu stepped back warily, but before she could move, his hand shot out and grabbed her backpack strap. In a few swift motions, her pink backpack was dangling from his long, knuckled fingers.

She froze, dumbfounded. Jiang Chi had already turned and started walking, slinging the bag over his shoulder without looking back.

She scrambled after him, hissing under her breath, "Hey! What are you doing?"

His tone was flat. "You called me a thief. So now I'm stealing your bag and taking you to do something bad."

---

The activity room was rarely used—only student council members gathered there during campus events. Li Shu had no idea where Jiang Chi got the key. Reluctantly, she let him push her through the door, which he locked behind them. Her pink bag landed carelessly on a desk.

Then she felt an arm cinch her waist, and before she could react, he hoisted her onto the tabletop. The room was dim; the sunset was half-blocked by curtains, leaving only a thin sliver of golden light that slanted across the floor, splitting them apart—one standing, one sitting.

Jiang Chi leaned against the wall in the shadows, his voice drawling, "Alright, deskmate. Time to keep your end of the promise."

His casual tone ignited a fire in her ears. Li Shu clutched her skirt, her earlobes burning red. She looked up helplessly, but he showed no sign of compromise. He shrugged. "You don't have to. Then the deal's off."

Her deep-blue skirt wrinkled under her grip. She turned her head slightly, hands moving stiffly to her chest. Slender fingers pinched the top button—and with effort, she began to undo it, one by one. Her ears scalded with shame, she forced herself down to the second, the third...

Her neatly pressed shirt gaped open, the slit widening as her fingers descended. When she reached the buttons over her chest, the pale blue fabric fell away on both sides. Though slender, Li Shu was well-developed; her fitted bra cradled full, weighty breasts, a shallow cleft between them. Usually, her shirt strained tight across her chest.

Now unbound, her pale, creamy flesh peeked out, the edge of her bra just visible beneath the open placket. She was too mortified to raise her head, her heart hammering—so the two white mounds quivered with each rapid breath. Her waist buttons remained fastened, but her chest lay bare to the air: a slim waist, full breasts—a tableau of vivid, fleshly allure.

Jiang Chi stood motionless, drinking in the sight. Her skin gleamed almost blindingly white, gilded by the dying sunlight. He hadn't moved much, yet his whole body burned as if scorched; his crotch tightened painfully, his heart clawed by some restless hunger. When she hesitated over the remaining buttons, he rasped, "Keep going."

Like throwing another log on the fire, that single word made both of them flush deeper. Li Shu shut her eyes, steeled herself, and undid the rest in one go. The shirt fell open, revealing her pure, beautiful torso in full: a waist so narrow he could span it with his hands, pink lace cradling her full breasts. Along the valley between them, a tiny black mole sat delicately in the hollow of her collarbone.

She kept her head twisted away, staring fixedly at the corner of the desk, the scorching shame threatening to melt her. Just as she opened her mouth to ask if he'd had enough, her left breast was seized.

She jolted, instinctively leaning back—and he followed, pressing down. Only then did she realize he had crossed the "line" and now stood right at the desk.

Panicked, she tried to shield herself with her hands, but he caught them and pinned them against her chest, squeezing her breasts together, deepening the already pronounced cleft.

Gripping her left breast, Jiang Chi lowered his head, his dark eyes fixed intently on her flushed face. "What are you dodging for? We're not done yet."

One hand could barely contain her—white flesh spilling between his fingers. The sight made him ache below; he dug his fingers in, as if trying to force the soft mound out of her bra.

Li Shu trembled with fear, clamping her arms together to hide herself—but that only made her breasts swell up more. Jiang Chi stepped forcefully between her thighs, bent down, and brought his mouth to her ear. She was nearly lying flat on the desk now; he tilted his head close. "Deskmate, your tits are huge. I can barely hold them."

She was so vexed she wanted to slap him. But the moment her hand rose, he twisted it behind her back.

"Good girl. Don't forget the other side."

He brushed his lips against her cheek, then cupped her long-neglected right breast, kneading it with reckless abandon. The lacy fabric rasped against his palm. Her pink areola began to peek out; his thumb brushed over it, sending a shiver through her. Mischief sparked in him—he hooked his thumb under the upper edge of her bra, slipped his forefinger inside, and scraped across her nipple.

"Mmm..." The most sensitive spot, stroked by his warm finger, made her curl involuntarily, a stifled moan escaping her lips.

That helpless whimper was a hook, tightening his throat and heating his groin. He kneaded without rhythm, then pinched her hardened bud between thumb and forefinger, rolling it. His fingertip rubbed against the tiny opening, and her heart felt like it was being scratched by claws—an inexpressible craving surged through her. She quaked, choking out another breathy cry.

His hot breath fanned her ear as he murmured against her shell, his voice even hoarser than hers: "Next time, I'm taking it off to play."
