"This is such an easy, descriptive read, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere from the very beginning. The looming stormy opening immediately sets the mood and makes Evangeline’s encounter with Valerious feel tense and intriguing. One of my favorite aspects so far is the language barrier between Evangeline and Valerious. It makes their interactions surprisingly tense and interesting because there is so much they can’t fully communicate yet. It actually has me wondering what their dynamic will be like once they can finally understand each other clearly. The main characters are great as well. Evangeline comes across as such a kind soul, especially in the way she chooses to help a wounded man who looks dangerous despite every reason to be cautious. And then there’s Valerious, the prideful, intimidating Lycan King with all the classic alpha energy, but whose inner thoughts reveal that he is actually remarkably gentle and careful when it comes to Evangeline. That contrast is really fun to read. I’m also really enjoying the world-building. The different realms, Valerious’s people, and the orcs have already created a sense that there is a much bigger world beyond what we’ve seen so far. There are enough unanswered questions to keep me curious about how everything fits together and, more importantly, what is going to happen next. Overall, it’s an engaging read with a great atmosphere, intriguing character dynamics, and a world that makes me want to keep exploring. "

The opening with a hunted king choosing his own fate instead of giving his enemies the satisfaction of killing him was powerful and heartbreaking. The memory of his mother's words—"This amulet will bring you good luck, my son"—left me wondering how that promise would ever come true. Then the transition to modern-day Earth was seamless. I loved meeting Evangeline. She isn't portrayed as fearless; she's cautious, thoughtful, and fully aware of the danger she's inviting into her home. That made her decision to save a stranger feel even more meaningful. Valerio is already a compelling protagonist. Even weakened and near death, his dignity and commanding presence never disappear. What I enjoyed most is that the growing connection between him and Evangeline doesn't feel forced. It's mysterious, emotional, and leaves you wanting answers rather than giving everything away too soon. Your descriptions are vivid enough that I could picture each scene like a film—from the storm on the mountain to the warmth of the barn and the quiet moments between the two characters. The pacing is steady, the mystery is strong, and every chapter leaves me wanting the next one. I'm genuinely invested in finding out who Valerio really is, what happened to his world, and what role Evangeline will play in his destiny. Wonderful start!"
