AUTHOR'S POV
The neighborhood had always been more than just a place to live. The families had grown up together, celebrated every festival together, and treated each other like one big family.
That evening, everyone was gathered in Y/N’s living room, chatting over tea and snacks.
Y/N’s Dad: “It’s been a long time since we all went somewhere together. How about we plan a family trip?”
Mr. Kim: “That’s actually a great idea.”
Mrs. Choi: “I agree! The kids are on vacation too.”
Y/N’s Mom: “Then it’s settled. Let’s leave tomorrow morning.”
Mr. Park: “Perfect! We can decide the destination tonight.”
The room instantly filled with excitement as everyone started discussing different places.
Meanwhile...
Standing just outside the living room, Y/N and her best friend, Yuqi, were secretly listening to the conversation.
The moment they realized what had been decided, both of them looked at each other with sparkling eyes.
Yuqi (whispering excitedly): “This is going to be so much fun!”
Y/N (grinning): “I know! It’s our first time going on a trip with everyone together. I seriously can’t wait.”
Before they could continue...
Y/N’s Mom: “Y/N! Yuqi !”
Both girls immediately walked into the living room, pretending they hadn’t been eavesdropping.
Y/N & Yuqi : “Yes, Auntie?”
Y/N’s Mom (smiling): “You two should start packing right now.”
Yuqi : “Right now?”
Y/N’s Mom: “Yes. Otherwise, tomorrow morning everyone will be ready to leave while you two are still trying to decide what to wear.”
The entire room burst into laughter.
Mr. Kim: “She’s absolutely right. These two can spend hours choosing just one outfit.”
Mrs. Choi: “And don’t forget the endless selfies before packing.”
Everyone laughed even harder.
Y/N and Yuqi exchanged an offended look before pouting at the adults.
Y/N: “Come on... we’re not that slow.”
Yuqi : “Exactly!”
Y/N’s Dad (teasing): “Really? Then who spent two hours choosing a pair of shoes last month?”
Both girls instantly fell silent.
A few seconds later...
They looked at each other...
...and couldn’t help laughing.
Y/N: “Fine! We’re going.”
Yuqi : “And tomorrow, we’ll be the first ones to get ready.”
Still laughing, the two girls hurried upstairs toward Y/N’s room.
As soon as the bedroom door closed...
Yuqi threw herself onto the bed.
Yuqi : “Road trip... music... games... late-night gossip... this is going to be unforgettable!”
Y/N smiled as she opened her suitcase.
Y/N: “I already know I won’t be able to sleep tonight.”
The girls continued packing while excitedly making plans for the trip...
The next morning...
The entire neighborhood was unusually lively.
Suitcases were being loaded into the cars, parents were double-checking everything, while the kids were busy taking pictures before leaving.
Y/N adjusted her sunglasses and looked around.
Y/N: “Everyone’s here... then who are we waiting for?”
Just then...
A deep voice spoke from behind.
??? : “Us.”
Y/N frowned before turning around.
The moment her eyes landed on the person standing there...
Her smile disappeared.
Her eyes widened in disbelief.
Y/N: “You...?!!”
Standing in front of her was...
Park Jimin.
Dressed in an all-black outfit, hands casually tucked inside his pockets, wearing that same annoyingly confident smirk she hated.
Beside him stood Jungkook and Taehyung, both carrying their luggage.
Jimin simply looked at her and smirked.
Jimin: “Missed me already?”
Y/N rolled her eyes.
Y/N: “When did you come back? And why are you coming with us?”
Before Jimin could answer...
Yuqi quietly grabbed Y/N’s wrist.
Leaning closer, she whispered...
Yuqi : “Y/N... don’t forget. His family is one of the four families going on this trip.”
Y/N blinked.
Y/N: “I know that... but when did he return from Paris?”
Before Yuqi could answer...
Mrs. Kim walked over.
Mrs. Kim: “Y/N, is everything okay? Is there any problem?”
Yuqi immediately forced an awkward smile.
Yuqi : “No, Mom. You know Y/N... she’s just being dramatic.”
Y/N turned toward her.
Y/N: “Hey! I—”
Yuqi quickly interrupted.
Yuqi : “Come on. Let’s get in the car. We can talk on the way.”
Without giving Y/N another chance to speak, she dragged her toward the car.
Inside the Car...
The journey had just begun.
Music was playing softly in the background.
Outside, the scenery kept changing...
But inside the car...
Y/N sat beside the window with her arms crossed, clearly annoyed.
Yuqi glanced at her before sighing.
Yuqi : “How long are you going to stay mad?”
No response.
Yuqi : “Seriously, what happened? So what if they’re coming with us?”
Y/N finally turned toward her.
Y/N: “You know exactly why.”
She looked out of the window again.
Y/N: “He’s been my biggest enemy since childhood.”
“I’ve hated him for years.”
Yuqi nodded.
Yuqi : “Yeah... because he used to tease you all the time.”
Y/N: “Exactly!”
She groaned in frustration.
Y/N: “And who even asked him to come back? He was perfectly fine in Paris.”
Yuqi couldn’t help laughing.
Yuqi : “Y/N...”
“He lives here.”
“His home is here.”
“Obviously he was going to come back someday.”
Y/N stayed silent.
Yuqi continued...
Yuqi : “Besides...”
“Jimin isn’t alone.”
“Jungkook and Taehyung are here too.”
“I’m sure the three of them will stay busy together.”
She smiled reassuringly.
Yuqi : “That was years ago.”
“People change.”
“And we’re not traveling alone.”
“Our parents are with us.”
“So just relax.”
Y/N let out a long sigh.
After a few moments...
A tiny smile finally appeared on her face.
Y/N: “Yeah...”
“You’re right.”
She shrugged confidently.
Y/N: “I don’t even care.”
“I’m not going to let him ruin my trip.”
“I’m going to enjoy every single moment.”
Yuqi smiled proudly.
Yuqi : “That’s the spirit.”
Meanwhile...
In the car behind them...
Jimin, Jungkook, and Taehyung were sitting together, while the adults chatted in the front seats.
Jungkook looked out the window before breaking the silence.
Jungkook: “Jimin... can I ask you something?”
Jimin didn’t even look up from his phone.
Jimin: “Hmm... go ahead.”
Jungkook smiled mischievously.
Jungkook: “This trip is going to be really fun...”
Jimin raised an eyebrow.
Jimin: “Why?”
Jungkook: “After all...”
“...Y/N and Yuqi are coming too.”
Jimin scoffed.
Jimin: “Huh.”
“The moment Y/N is around...”
“...the whole atmosphere gets ruined.”
Taehyung, who had been quietly listening, chuckled.
Taehyung: “Seriously...”
“Why do you hate her so much?”
Jimin looked outside the window.
His expression turned cold.
Jimin: “Because...”
“I’ve never liked her.”
“Not since we were kids.”
Jungkook laughed.
Jungkook: “Even after she grew up into someone that beautiful?”
Jimin let out a sarcastic laugh.
Jimin: “Beautiful?”
He looked at Jungkook like he’d just heard the biggest joke.
Jimin: “Her?”
A dark chuckle escaped his lips.
Jimin: “Don’t make me laugh.”
Taehyung and Jungkook exchanged amused glances.
Jungkook leaned back against his seat with a teasing grin.
Jungkook: “You know...”
“I’ve seen this happen before.”
Jimin looked at him.
Jungkook: “Sometimes...”
“People hate each other so much...”
“...that they end up falling in love.”
Jimin frowned.
At that exact moment...
In Y/N’s Car...
Yuqi couldn’t stop smiling.
Yuqi : “You know...”
“I’ve seen this happen in so many dramas.”
Y/N looked at her suspiciously.
Y/N: “What?”
Yuqi giggled.
Yuqi : “Enemies who keep fighting...”
“...and then suddenly fall in love.”
Y/N’s face instantly twisted in disgust.
Both Cars... At The Same Time
Jungkook smirked.
Jungkook: “What if...”
“...you and Y/N fall in love?”
At that exact second...
Yuqi asked with a teasing smile...
Yuqi : “What if...”
“...you and Jimin fall in love?”
A beat of silence.
Then—
In two different cars...
Two different people...
Gave the exact same reaction.
Jimin & Y/N (at the same time): “NO. NEVER.”
Jungkook and Taehyung burst into laughter.
At the very same moment...
Yuqi laughed so hard that she almost fell against the car door.
