The Starbound Vow

Summary

The Starbound Vow is a fantasy romance about a young lighthouse keeper named Liora and a mysterious fallen star named Kestrel. One night, Liora witnesses a star falling from the sky, but instead of finding a piece of starlight, she discovers an injured man on the rocks near her lighthouse. As she cares for him, she learns that he is actually a star who has been sent to Earth. Kestrel reveals that he has only one chance to survive. Before the next full moon, someone must truly love him for who he is. If not, he will disappear forever. As the days pass, Liora and Kestrel grow closer. They share stories, learn from each other, and slowly develop a deep connection. Their growing bond is threatened when Lord Ashgrave, a powerful ruler who wants to capture and control fallen stars, discovers Kestrel’s presence. Kestrel is taken prisoner, and time begins to run out. Refusing to give up, Liora risks everything to rescue him. In the final moments before Kestrel is lost forever, Liora confesses her love. Her honest and selfless feelings break the curse placed upon him, allowing him to become fully human. Together, they escape and begin a new life, free from the dangers of the past. The story is a heartwarming tale of love, sacrifice, and hope. It shows that true love is not about power or magic but about accepting someone completely for who they are.

## Chapter One: The Girl Who Caught Falling Stars

In the kingdom of Velmora, it was said that a star fell every hundred years, and whoever caught it would be granted one wish from the sky itself.

Liora didn’t believe in the old stories. She was the keeper of her village’s lighthouse on the cliffs above the Salt Sea, a quiet, practical girl who trusted lanterns and tide charts more than legends. But on the night the sky split open with silver fire, she ran out onto the rocks anyway, because some part of her — the part that still remembered her mother’s bedtime stories — couldn’t stay inside.

She found him instead of a star.

A man lay broken among the rocks, his clothes scorched, his dark hair full of ash, a strange light still flickering beneath his skin like a candle behind glass. When his eyes opened, they were the color of struck flint, and the first thing he said was not “help me,” but:

“Don’t tell anyone what you saw fall.”

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me.
