A wholesome orphan to established family tale...imagine a happy ending and that's what you get.

"I found this on the discover page of Inkitt, read the summary and it looked interesting, but also short..so I started reading it and before I knew it the book was over with. Not uncommon for me to finish a book in a day, but I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the plot and characters. There's no unnecessary drama or angst here, just a daughter from a one night stand that was neither intended nor the aftermath understood at the time. There are reasons for both, but you will have to read it to find out. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. The main female character, Ananya, is born to her Mother, Meera, in India and lives with her until the Mom's death when she is 15. On her death bed the Mom points Ananya to a locked drawer in their home that contains information about the Father, his cell #, and the story behind her birth. It takes a bit but Ananya calls her father and the story unfolds. It's a great story, although written as a series of sentences rather than paragraph form. That's not a criticism, just a notation. It reads well, covers both Indian and Russian religions, allows both the live freely after the daughter relocates to her Father's family. This is both heartwarming and surprising as most takes on this end with one or the other going forward. I was pleasantly surprised by the family's open regard for the daughter's beliefs. The daughter shows highly advanced skills in jewelry designs, her mother was a designer in jewelry as well. and explores the daughters first attempts at designing pieces and the family's direction in helping her achieve her goals. It ends well, without getting into the weeds of the family getting to know each other beyond a familiar understanding of each other, and it only covers a year or so past their meeting. I could both see a second novel and say it isn't necessary. The book as is was wonderful on its own. Good job author, you covered what could have been a much tougher situation and broke it down to its basic elements. "
