❤︎ AUTHOR’S NOTE & AN HONEST NOTE ❤︎
Dear Readers,
The cover pages are officially finalized, the first glimpse is out, and I am absolutely thrilled and also a little terrified to welcome you all to the universe of Echoes in the Ink!
This book is a massive milestone for me. The concept of a dark, dual-timeline romantic mystery is entirely new territory for my writing, something I have always secretly wanted to try but never felt I could completely pull it off. It required a level of complex plotting, pacing, and emotional subtext that pushed me far outside my comfort zone.
Because I want to always maintain total transparency with the readers who have supported me since 2020, I want to share an honest note about my writing process for this project. There were moments during the construction of this complex idea where I had hit an absolute wall, times when my brain just stopped working, the plot knots felt too tangled and difficult, and the writer’s block was paralyzing. In those specific moments, I turned to AI as a creative partner to help brainstorm, unstick my thoughts, and find the motivation to keep going. While the soul, characters, and execution of this book are entirely my own, that collaborative spark helped me find my footing when I felt I couldn’t go on anymore, and I am incredibly proud of how this hybrid process pushed me forward to grow.
This story is a labour of pure love, vulnerability, and growth. Because so much of my heart has been poured into these pages, I truly appreciate it if my work remains respected and is not copied, reposted, or pirated onto any other sites or platforms. Let’s keep our reading community a safe, supportive space for the creators like us.
I cannot wait to share this entire book with you all. Please let me know your thoughts, theories, and excitement about the glimpse!
With all my love and gratitude,
The Author
Some secrets are written to be found. Others are stamped in blood. Elviora lives her life among the quiet, fragile remnants of the past. As a talented literature restorer, she trusts old paper, faded bindings, and silent archives far more than she trusts people. But her world changes completely when she is commissioned to restore a rare, heavily guarded 1950s manuscript belonging to one of New York’s most reclusive and powerful families. Hidden deep within its decaying pages, she uncovers something that was never meant to see the light of day. A series of deeply passionate, anonymous love letters detailing a tragic, unfinished romance from decades ago. Obsessed with uncovering the ending to a story that feels hauntingly familiar, Elviora’s search leads her straight to Ricardo—the cynical, fiercely guarded heir to the estate. Ricardo wants absolutely nothing to do with the media, his family’s glittering legacy, or the dark rumours that haunt his ancestral home. He wants the past to stay buried. But the letters hold a complex, poetic cipher that Elviora cannot solve alone. Forced into close proximity within the shadows of the isolated estate, Elviora and Ricardo begin to piece together the fractured code of 1950. But as the lines between the past and the present begin to dangerously blur, they realize that the historical tragedy mirrors their own heavily guarded hearts and an intense, protective bond forms between them that neither can fight.

Maureen: I liked how the author described how the characters were feeling. How there decisions and actions were influenced. This story would be a great movie, though I'm not sure how a movie could portray the emotions and inner thoughts of he characters as well as this story has.
