"Hi everyone, I wanted to leave a little note here and share the heart behind Beneath the Halo. This story is a deeply personal project for me. From the very beginning, my goal wasn't simply to write a dark mafia romance, but to explore love as a psychological journey between two profoundly broken people. When I first started writing this novel, I built it around a simple idea: two people standing at completely different stages of life, carrying entirely different experiences, yet sharing the same fundamental emptiness—they have never truly known love. Dante has lived for thirty-seven years without ever falling in love. Serafina is only nineteen and doesn't even know what love is supposed to feel like. They are, in completely different ways, emotionally inexperienced. One has spent his life surviving through control, discipline, and responsibility. The other has survived through imagination, avoidance, and innocence. Throughout the story, they slowly learn the language of love together, each relying on the only emotional tools they have ever known. Their relationship spans fourteen years, built on shared trauma, sacrifice, misunderstandings, and impossible choices. Because their past is inseparable from the people they become, Beneath the Halo follows a dual timeline. Every flashback is placed with intention—not simply to reveal the past, but to explain an emotion, a reaction, or a decision happening in the present. Rather than telling their story chronologically, I wanted readers to assemble it piece by piece, discovering alongside the characters how two people who once meant everything to each other eventually became trapped in a love-hate relationship. "Dante & Serafina verbal spats steal the show. Her sass is stellar. The opening, of a wedding and funeral, both not happy occasion in this case, pain a lovely contrast. The flash backs are handled well, and some pull the heartstring. There are moments that made me laughs out aloud. Dante is intense, & Serafina resists him every step of the way. I am really curious to see how their dynamic develops. This is definitely a fun read for dark romance readers who also what an intense emotional vein underpinning the narrative. "
