Kimi wa Boku no Everything
"This opening chapter is a classic age-gap, rich-poor, forbidden romance setup with heavy "instant obsession" energy. It follows 19-year-old Seo Si-woo, a broke university student who crashes an elite art gallery event and becomes completely mesmerized by Yeo Ji-woo — an elegant, older, untouchable beauty who runs the gallery. What Works Well, Atmosphere & Setting: The author does a strong job painting the high-society art gallery scene. The crystal champagne glasses, marble floors, expensive perfumes, and circling "wolves" (rich men) create a vivid, luxurious contrast with Si-woo’s damp sweater and worn sneakers. You really feel the class difference and his outsider status. Instant Chemistry: The moment their eyes meet across the room is electric. The author leans hard into the "she’s too beautiful it hurts" trope, but it works for this genre. Si-woo’s inner monologue captures that overwhelming, slightly delusional first-crush intensity very well. Bold Opening Move: The way Si-woo creates a distraction (the waiter crash) to help Ji-woo escape the pushy corporate heir is genuinely fun and cinematic. It immediately shows his reckless passion and gives the chapter a strong, memorable climax. First-Person Voice: The narration feels intimate and youthful, which fits the protagonist. Areas That Need Work Over-the-top Descriptions: The constant emphasis on how breathtaking and dangerous Ji-woo’s beauty is gets repetitive. We get it — she’s a goddess. It borders on purple prose at times. Editing & Polish: There are some awkward phrasings and minor errors (“Nunan neomu yeppeoseo” is a cute Korean line, but feels slightly out of place without more context). The summary at the beginning also gives away too much future angst, which slightly undercuts the tension of Chapter 1. Pacing: It’s very description-heavy at the start. Some readers might want the action (or actual conversation) to move a little faster. Overall Verdict This is a solid, trope-heavy opening that will appeal to fans of dramatic K-romance, age-gap stories, and “he fell first (and harder)” vibes. It has strong visual potential — it almost reads like the first episode of a K-drama. Would I keep reading? Yes. The chemistry and Si-woo’s chaotic boldness are already pulling me in. Great job on a strong, atmospheric first chapter! 🔥"
