SILENT GATE REVIEW

"the suspense, emotional depth- lost and found love, the portrayal and characterisation of 'hidden' feelings and desires was well captured in this book. character progression, development and synchronisation from chapter to chapter was adequately captured and written. the books pacing is not fast at all as it flows sequentially between all characters and through the varied information being presented, not, to take away but to draw into the light that many feelings we have can be characterised and given shape. the loss of love and finding of it, to the resolution and transfer as well as transformation of it was also equally captured, not, to discourage but to throw into exposition, that love is often real and yet confused for different things in many seasons and to show that communication, proximity and a shared purpose work dependently and independently. furthermore, the strategic choice and capturing a mute character is symbolic in the traditional setting of this book as it brings into existence without taking out of existence the many reasons why certain minorities are treated the way they are in particular communities, settings and in areas where belief systems are most often the order of the day. the ostracisation instead of inclusion of minorities was strategically captured and not demeaned. Silent Gate captured strategically, the various aspects of human attributes, attitudes, social norms among others without demeaning, demoralising, and over-sexualizing."
