New beginning.
"boys! We have to get packing the moving truck will be here in twenty minutes to get our stuff." I called to my two twin boys cade and Zane Wade, from downstairs.
"Coming, mom!" I heard them say in unison.
They are identical twins the only difference, Zane has short black hair like me. Whereas cade has curly brown hair like his father.
"We're ready!" They said in unison, both having big smiles on their faces.
"Beep beep*
We hear a horn just outside of our house. We had a medium-sized brick House.
There was a fireplace in the center of our living room, on the mantle sat various pictures of our little family. The first, being my wedding picture. Jeremy and I looked so happy that day. Too bad things changed quickly.
The day I told him I was pregnant with the boys was the day that he walked out on us, I haven't seen him since. That was 8 years ago.
The boys and I are moving from Chicago to Nashville, my hometown.
.
My big brother Brandon, as well as the rest of my family are there. His best friend, Dominic Anderson is also there.
Dominic and I were just as close as he and Brandon, before I left. Even though he and Brandon are both 2 years older than me.
I grabbed the last of our belongings that were in a box as well as my suitcase, before following my children out the door of our family home since they were babies, one last time.
"Are you ready boys?" I questioned them as I buckled them into their car seats, loading them into our black minivan.
"Yes, Mommy. We're ready!" They both said cheerfully. As soon as they were safely plac6e in their seats I got in the driver seat of my car.
Twenty minutes later we made it to the airport. Finding a parking space in the airports parking lot, I got out of my car.
After grabbing our luggage I go to the back passenger side of my car, unloading the boys.
"Are you guys ready to see Uncle Brandon and uncle Dom?" I questioned the boys as we entered the airport.
"Yay!!" They cheered happily, drawing a few people's attention. I shush them and remind them how to behave properly in public, before we walked over to the check-in desk.
"Hi, ma'am. I'm here to check in for my flight, it's at three." I tell the lady at the front desk. She had short red hair pale skin, and emerald green eyes. She was wearing pink lipstick with a little bit of eyeliner, making her eyes pop.
"Name?" The lady asked as she typed on the computer.
"Kylie, Kylie Wilder." I told the lady, handing her my ID.
"And their names?" She questioned, looking down at the boys. "Cade and Zane Wade." I informed her, passing her copies of their birth certificates.
"Okay. You're all set, here are your passports and plane tickets." The lady explained, giving me the stuff.
"Just go to the conveyor belt for your luggage and then go to gate c, there is where you're plane will be." She explained to me.
"Thank you! Come on boys, let's go." I said before leading my sons to the waiting area near the gate.
We sat down in the empty chairs in the waiting area of the airport.
Announcer
Flight 217 to Nashville is now boarding. I repeat, flight 217 to Nashville is now boarding. Thank you for choosing Chicago airlines, have a lovely day!
The announcer said before the loud speaker stopped.
"Come on boys, we're going on our first plane ride together." I told them as we stood up and made our way through security.
After we made it safely through security check we boarded the plane.
(A few hours later)
NASHVILLE TENNESSEE.
The taxi pulled up outside of my family home within 20 minutes.
Looking around the old ranch style Blue House with white shutters, looked the same as it did when I was a little girl.
Things don't change much around here.
"My oh my, is that my little sugar plum?" I heard a deep voice ask. Turning around I see a tall man with chestnut brown hair. Emerald green eyes, and tan skin, as if he'd hung out in the sun all the time.
Brandon.
"Oh, my gosh! Brandon. So good to see you!" I exclaimed as I ran at him, jumping into his arms. "Baby sis, long time no see." He said into the crook of my shoulder as he caught me effortlessly.
He spun me around Playfully for a brief moment, before placing me gently back on the ground. "And are those two little rascals the twins?" He asked, spotting the twins standing a few feet away.
"Uncle bran!" The twins cried out before rushing into Brandon's arms simultaneously. "My goodness! Look how big the two of you have gotten since two years ago." He expressed as he held both of them tightly.
"Boss, Lucy is looking to..." I heard another familiar voice State before pausing.
"Wow. Sunshine, it's been a while. What are you doing here?" Dominic questioned me as he regained his composure.
He was dressed in a blue and white plaid shirt with a pair of denim jeans, that had dirt on the knees from working around the farm.
My brother had told me last week on the phone, that he had hired Dominic as the new ranch hand to help him out.
Brandon had inherited the farm 3 years ago, after my parents died.
It made sense at the time, considering I didn't think I would ever be moving back here. But plans change, I guess.
"Come on, I will show you your room and then take the boys to theirs." My brother offered, leading me and the boys in the house.
The walls of the front entrance was painted a beige color. Then there was the spiral staircase, leading up to three bedrooms and then two guest rooms.
We made it to the top of the staircase to the hallway, it was painted eggshell White and then there were various frames on the walls, filled with pictures of my parents, my brother and I at different stages of our lives.
"Here you go, sis." My brother said, stopping outside of my childhood bedroom door.
Once he opens the door the periwinkle walls and white curtain look the same from back when I was a kid. The only difference, the walls were bare. A strong contrast to the popstar posters that I used to have hanging on the wall, back when I was a teen.
"The guest bedroom that I am putting the boys in is just down the hall from this room." My brother informed me.
"Dinner will be ready in ten." My brother said. "Thanks, Brandon." I said. He nodded as a response, silently leaving the room afterward.
Looking around the room as memories of my childhood flash before my eyes only one thought crossed my mind in that moment; it's good to be home.
