Chapter one
Chapter one
Iwoke up on a Saturday morning not knowing what the day was going to bring me. I walked towards the bathroom in my parents’ six-bedroom house, to wash my face and brush my teeth. Then, I preceded down stairs to get some breakfast and as usual go back to my room and sleep some more. As soon as I walked in the kitchen my mother greeted me.
“Buenes Dias hija, coma estas?”
“Estoy muy bien mama’, I am very well.”
“Is something troubling you my dear?”
I tell her no and give her a kiss on the cheek. My mother is 5′4 with long flowing brownish reddish hair, caramel skin, and quite feisty but she has a good heart. My mother is from Puerto Rico where me and my sister was born and grew up in. My father looked up from his newspaper.
“Hello Nina.” Which is my nickname everyone calls me because he can’t pronounce my real name Nhialanie.
“So, what are your plans for today?”
“I don’t know dad the usual perhaps.” I reply.
My sister came downstairs and said, “Dad she’s always doing nothing, I on the other hand have plans with some of my friends.”
I shot her an evil glare because she’s always prancing around here like she’s the most popular girl in the world, even though she is popular at Raines high.
My sister name is Lanecey or Nene for short. She is the captain of the varsity cheerleading squad and will be graduating June 2009. She is 5 feet light skinned has long brownish hair and can be our mothers twin. I am into no sports but have lots of friends I am 5′6 caramel skinned, long brownish hair and act just like my mother. I am in the tenth grade and will be graduating June 2011. My youngest brother name is Richard and besides our father is the only one not born in Puerto Rico. He is light skinned also and is in the sixth grade. No matter what I look after him, so you can say we have a pretty close family.
