FlashForward

I raced through the streets of the city, chest heaving, sweat dripping. Chuck and Fred sprinted after me, practically flying to keep up.

'How did I get myself into this mess?' I thought, frantically dodging trash cans and hobos in the grimy alleys between apartment buildings.

"Chuck! Fred! Run faster!" I yelled, when I heard the sirens in the distance, as well as a helicopter somewhere above us. 'What the heck?! A freaking helicopter? This is more serious than I thought!'.

" We are!!", Chuck yelled, "How much faster do you think I can go?" I rolled my eyes, putting on a burst of speed as several black suvs pulled up and literal men in black got out, pulling weapons from their holsters.

We were surrounded. I stopped running in the middle of the street, Chuck and Fred running into me. I stumbled forward before promptly face planting on the road. " Wasn't planning on eating pavement today", I grumbled under my breath.

Chuck gave an exasperated sigh, and pulled me up only to shove Fred into my chest. "Just take him."

"Do not run. We are not going to hurt you. We only want to talk to you. Put your hands up and slowly walk torward us." One of the men in black spoke through a megaphone.

Sigh. I guess the jig was up. Oh well. We all raised our hands and slowly began walking.

What the officers didn't know, is I could hear their every thought, their every movement no matter how small. I smiled.

Wait. Stop right there. Let me start from the beginning.
