The school hall echoed with laughter, footsteps, and the faint smell of chalk.

Her breath hitched when he stepped forward.

The entire hall quieted just enough to hear the first crack of the younger girl's heart.
“P-Please…” the 18-year-old whispered, voice shaking. “You know I didn’t do anything. You know it wasn’t me. Please just—”
“Enough.”
His voice sliced through her pleadings.
He took a step forward, towering over her trembling form.
“I don’t want you in my life.”
Her eyes widened. “W-What?”
“You heard me.”
His tone was ice. Sharp. Final.
“You’re unlucky for everyone. A disaster waiting to happen. A parasite. You bring misery to anyone who comes near you.”
She shook her head, choking on her sobs.
“That’s not true. You know me, you know I—”
He cut her off again, squeezing the older girl’s hand tighter.
“She was right about you from the start.”
The 24-year-old tilted her head, lips curving into a satisfied smile.
“You don’t deserve love,” he continued coldly. “You don’t deserve me. You don’t deserve anyone.”
More students gathered near the doors, whispering, snickering, pointing.
The girl’s knees wobbled. “Please… please don’t say that. Please believe me… just once—”
He suddenly grabbed her wrist.
She gasped as he yanked her closer, their faces barely an inch apart.
Her tears touched his skin — and he didn’t even flinch.
“I don’t want to see you ever again,” he hissed.
“You’re a curse in everyone’s life.”
Her lips parted, but before a single sound escaped, he added:
“It’s better if you don’t show your pathetic face to us again.”
Then—
He shoved her.
Hard.
The impact slammed her onto the cold floor; the echo of her fall bounced off every wall.
The hall roared with laughter.
Someone pointed.
Someone snickered.
Someone whispered, “She deserves it.”
But he didn’t look back.
He tightened his grip on the older girl’s hand and walked away, dragging her down the hallway.
Before turning the corner, the older girl glanced back—
