Chapter 1
The Mysterious Mirror – Part 1
Long ago, there was a beautiful kingdom called Makanpura. It was surrounded by lush greenery, towering trees, colorful flower gardens, and cheerful people. There were no beggars, and no one lacked wealth. The entire kingdom was filled with prosperity, happiness, and peace.
The kingdom was ruled by King Manikchand, a wise and kind ruler who loved his people dearly. He always thought about their welfare and often disguised himself as an ordinary citizen to walk through the kingdom, meet his subjects, and personally listen to their problems.
The people loved their king just as much. King Manikchand was known for his humble nature. Instead of waging wars against neighboring kingdoms, he chose friendship and peace. As a result, his kingdom was respected far and wide.
But as the saying goes, after happiness, sorrow eventually follows.
The king had a daughter named Princess Meera. Like her father, Meera was kind-hearted, humble, and always ready to help those in need.
One day, Princess Meera visited the marketplace with her two maids. While walking through the market, she noticed a shop filled with old and rare antiques. Among the many fascinating objects, one beautiful mirror immediately caught her attention.
She fell in love with it at first sight, bought it, and returned to the palace.
Meera had a dusky complexion, but her innocence and simplicity were her greatest beauty. She spent a long time gazing at herself in the mirror.
That night, she suddenly woke up.
A strange golden light was spreading across her room.
To her surprise, the light was coming from the very mirror she had bought that day.
With trembling hands, she picked up the mirror and looked into it.
But this time, instead of her own reflection, she saw the face of an extraordinarily beautiful young woman.
Meera was terrified.
Then a voice echoed from inside the mirror.
"Meera... Meera... listen to me... don't be afraid... please help me..."
Before Meera could understand what was happening, the door of her room suddenly opened and one of her maids entered. Instantly, the mirror became silent, and the golden light disappeared.
The maid said,
"Princess, His Majesty wishes to see you immediately."
Leaving the mirror behind, Meera hurried to meet her father.
King Manikchand looked deeply worried.
He said,
"Tonight, a traveler rang the palace's emergency bell. He claims that he has lost a very special mirror. If it is not returned to him before today ends, a terrible disaster will strike our entire kingdom."
Meera asked the traveler,
"What is so special about this mirror?"
The traveler replied,
"Princess, I cannot reveal its secret right now. If I have until tomorrow, I will tell you everything. But for now, I urgently need that mirror."
Meera became suspicious.
She remembered hearing someone cry for help from the same mirror.
Just then, the king added,
"We have received information that a mirror exactly like the one described was purchased from the market today."
Meera immediately realized they were talking about her mirror.
She felt that if telling a lie could save someone's life, it would not be wrong.
So she said,
"Father... perhaps I accidentally dropped it somewhere on my way back to the palace."
The traveler became anxious.
"Your Majesty! Please find that mirror at any cost. Otherwise, a great calamity will befall the kingdom."
The king immediately ordered his soldiers to search for the mirror along with the traveler.
After several hours, the soldiers returned to the palace.
They bowed before the king and said,
"Your Majesty, we searched everywhere, but we could not find the traveler's mirror."
The king asked,
"What about the traveler?"
The soldiers replied,
"He suddenly disappeared without a trace. We searched for him everywhere, but we couldn't find him either."
Worry spread across King Manikchand's face. He couldn't stop wondering what terrible danger might soon threaten his kingdom. The king then commanded his soldiers and ministers,
"No matter what happens, I want that traveler brought before me."
Among the king's ministers was Minister Billar. Stepping forward, he said,
"Your Majesty, please do not worry. We will find the traveler and bring him before you as soon as possible."
With those words, the ministers and soldiers divided into separate search parties and spread out across every corner of the kingdom in search of the mysterious traveler
Meanwhile, Meera returned to her chamber.
She picked up the mirror and softly said,
"If you can truly hear my voice, please appear before me. I want to help you."
Within moments, the same golden light filled the room once again.
The beautiful young woman appeared inside the mirror.
She spoke,
"My name is Shiksha. I am from the kingdom of Vigandhara."
Then she told Meera her entire story.
"One day, I went into the forest. There, a stranger asked me for directions to a nearby village. As soon as I started guiding him, I suddenly fell under his mysterious control and unwillingly began following him.
He took me to a small hut beside a pond.
As evening approached, the water in the pond suddenly turned bright yellow.
The man pushed me into the water.
When I regained consciousness, I found myself imprisoned inside a sealed chamber made entirely of glass.
The mysterious man used to bring me food every day, but he hasn't come for several days now."
Shiksha looked at Meera with hope in her eyes.
"Today, I suddenly saw you through this mirror. That's why I called out for your help. Please... save me from this prison."
Meera asked,
"But how can I help you?"
Shiksha replied,
"I once overheard that man saying that only Prince Shubharu of the Kingdom of Minnar has the power to free me from this magical prison."
At that very moment, Princess Meera decided that she would do everything possible to rescue Shiksha.
But now, the questions remained...
Will Princess Meera be able to free Shiksha from the mysterious prison?
Was the mysterious traveler telling the truth?
And what was the real secret behind the magical mirror?
