Chapter 0.5: A Bloody Welcome

Story Time
Quote for this book: “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” — Martin Luther King Jr
A family is shattered like glass, and the monster who swung the hammer walks free. The supposed neighborhood fails them, the security guards fail them, and even worse, the justice system fails them.
As the years pass and time works its magic, long-buried confessions are made.
The monster is no longer the predator but instead, the prey. Some wounds never heal because grief won’t allow it. And some bests have to paid in blood.
True verdict contains themes of murder, violence, blood, grief, corruption, revenge, and psychological distress. It also contains references to assault and death. While certain events are not described graphically, some scenes may be disturbing to sensitive readers. If any of this feels too heavy or triggering, I ask that you proceed with caution or not at all.
