Chapter 1( The ritual begins)

Lily was used to being alone.

Every day at school, her classmates laughed at her, called her names, and threw her books on the floor. She never fought back. She simply picked them up and stayed silent.

After school, four bullies stopped her.

"Come with us," Ryan said with a cruel smile.

"I... I need to go home," Lily whispered.

"You don't have a choice."

They dragged her into the old abandoned building behind the school. Everyone knew the stories about it. People said a ghost lived there, waiting for someone to wake it.

Inside, dust covered everything.

Suddenly, one of the girls found an old black book lying on a broken table.

"Look what I found!"

Ryan picked it up and smiled.

"It's a ritual book."

He threw it into Lily's hands.

"You'll perform it."

"No... please..."

"If you don't, tomorrow will be even worse."

Lily's hands shook as she opened the book.

The instructions were simple.

Light four candles.

Stand inside the circle.

Read the words aloud.

The bullies laughed while recording her on their phones.

With tears in her eyes, Lily began reading the strange words.

The room became silent.

Nothing happened.

Ryan laughed.

"I told you it was fake."

Lily sighed with relief.

Then...

The candles went out.

One by one.

A freezing wind filled the room.

The old book slammed shut on its own.

A dark whisper echoed through the building.

"At last..."

The floor trembled beneath Lily's feet.

She wasn't alone anymore.

Bargara4670: I have marked the ratings down because it was obviously originally written in a foreign language and translated into English. I hope that whoever edited the second half will go back and do the same to the first half. Having said that, this was a well-thought-out plot which kept me interested enough ...

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...
