The Library Between Worlds

Chapter 1: The Library Between Worlds

The old town library had always been quiet.

Too quiet.

Most students visited only before exams, and even then they hurried out as soon as they found the books they needed. But for sixteen-year-old Zairry, the library felt different. Every shelf seemed to hide a secret, and every old book looked as if it had a story waiting to be discovered.

Unlike most boys his age, Zairry loved adventures—not just in games or movies, but in books. He dreamed of sailing the oceans, riding dragons, exploring forgotten kingdoms, and visiting places no one had ever seen.

One rainy afternoon, after school, he wandered through the oldest corner of the library.

Dust floated through the air as sunlight slipped through the high windows.

While searching for a history book, he noticed something strange.

One bookshelf looked… different.

It was slightly pulled away from the wall.

Curious, he pushed it gently.

With a deep rumbling sound, the shelf slowly moved aside.

Behind it stood a narrow wooden door covered in strange golden symbols.

Above it were four words carved into the stone.

THE LIBRARY BETWEEN WORLDS

Zairry’s heart raced.

“A hidden room…?”

He carefully turned the brass handle.

The door opened.

His eyes widened.

The room beyond was enormous.

Shelves stretched farther than he could see, reaching toward a glowing ceiling filled with floating lights that looked like tiny stars.

Thousands…

No.

Millions of books filled the endless library.

Some floated gently through the air.

Some glowed with blue, green, or golden light.

Others whispered so softly that he couldn’t understand the words.

“What… is this place?” he whispered.

An old voice echoed through the hall.

“Welcome, young reader.”

Zairry spun around.

No one was there.

Only silence.

Then another voice answered from somewhere among the shelves.

“Every book here is alive.”

He swallowed nervously.

“Who’s there?”

No reply.

Instead, a nearby book slowly slid out from the shelf by itself.

Its cover showed a black pirate ship sailing beneath a crimson sunset.

Golden letters shimmered across the cover.

THE LAST PIRATE KING

Almost without thinking, Zairry reached out.

The moment his fingers touched the book…

The library disappeared.

A freezing sea breeze struck his face.

He stumbled forward.

Wood creaked beneath his feet.

Waves crashed against the sides of a gigantic pirate ship.

Men hurried across the deck, pulling ropes and shouting orders.

“Raise the sails!”

“Enemy ships to the east!”

Someone slapped Zairry’s shoulder.

“There you are! The captain’s been looking for you!”

Zairry looked down.

Instead of his school uniform, he was wearing a pirate’s coat, leather boots, and a sword hung at his side.

“What…?”

Before he could speak, a loud cannon exploded across the sea.

BOOM!

The ship shook violently.

Smoke filled the air.

Enemy pirates were attacking.

“This isn’t a dream…” Zairry whispered.

“I’m inside the book.”

Far away, hidden in the dark clouds, a mysterious shadow watched the battle.

In one hand it held a long silver eraser.

With one slow movement…

It rubbed away a single line from an ancient page.

Somewhere on the pirate ship…

Someone suddenly vanished.

As though they had never existed.

And no one except Zairry noticed.

His greatest adventure…

Had only just begun.

Chapter 2: The Pirate’s Secret

The pirate ship lurched as another cannonball crashed into the sea beside it.

“Brace yourselves!” Captain Kael roared.

The crew rushed across the deck, tying ropes, raising sails, and loading cannons.

Zairry stood frozen.

Only a few seconds ago, he had been standing inside a library.

Now he was surrounded by pirates in the middle of a fierce battle.

“Boy!” a sailor shouted. “What are you waiting for?”

Without thinking, Zairry grabbed a loose rope before the mast could snap in the powerful wind.

The sailors nodded with approval.

“Good catch!”

Another explosion echoed across the sea.

Boom!

The enemy ship had come closer.

Pirates swung across on thick ropes, swords flashing in the sunlight.

The battle was chaotic.

Captain Kael drew his sword.

“No one touches my ship!”

The crew cheered and charged forward.

Zairry knew he had never fought before, so instead of joining the battle, he helped carry supplies, rolled cannonballs to the gunners, and pulled injured sailors to safety.

For the first time in his life, he understood that courage wasn’t about being fearless—it was about helping others even when you were afraid.

After what felt like hours, the enemy pirates finally retreated into the thick fog.

The crew erupted in celebration.

“We survived!”

Captain Kael walked toward Zairry.

“You may not be the strongest pirate,” he said with a smile, “but you’ve got the heart of one.”

That evening, as the sea grew calm, the captain invited Zairry into his cabin.

Ancient maps covered the wooden table.

At the center lay a glowing compass unlike any Zairry had ever seen.

Its needle spun wildly before pointing toward a tiny island marked with a golden star.

“This,” Captain Kael said quietly, “is the Crystal Compass.”

“It doesn’t point north.”

“It points toward whatever a person’s heart truly seeks.”

Zairry stared at it in amazement.

Before he could ask another question, the ship suddenly became silent.

Too silent.

The waves stopped moving.

The wind disappeared.

Even the lantern flames froze.

Captain Kael frowned.

“No…”

“Not again.”

A cold chill ran through the room.

Outside, one sailor looked around in confusion.

“Captain…”

“Where’s the navigator?”

Everyone looked at each other.

“What navigator?”

“There has never been one.”

Zairry’s eyes widened.

“There was!” he shouted.

“He was standing beside the wheel this morning!”

The crew stared at him as though he had lost his mind.

Captain Kael slowly lowered his head.

“You remember him?”

Zairry nodded.

“I do.”

The captain’s face turned pale.

“So…”

“It has begun.”

“What has begun?” Zairry asked.

Captain Kael walked to an old wooden chest and carefully removed a worn leather journal.

Inside was a single sentence written in faded ink:

When the Eraser awakens, stories begin to disappear. Only the one who remembers can save them.

Zairry’s heartbeat quickened.

“The one who remembers…”

Was that…

him?

Far away, beyond the endless ocean, a shadow stood in darkness.

In its hand was a long silver eraser.

With one slow stroke, another sentence vanished from an ancient page.

Across the pirate world, stars blinked out of the night sky.

One by one.

As if the story itself were slowly being erased.

Chapter 3: The Island of the Crystal Compass

The journal lay open on Captain Kael’s desk.

“When the Eraser awakens, stories begin to disappear. Only the one who remembers can save them.”

Zairry read the sentence again.

“What does it mean?” he asked quietly.

Captain Kael closed the journal with a sigh.

“I don’t know. This journal has been passed down from captain to captain for hundreds of years. It speaks of a shadow that destroys stories.”

Before Zairry could ask another question, a sailor burst into the cabin.

“Captain! We found it!”

“The island!”

Everyone hurried onto the deck.

Ahead, hidden behind thick white fog, rose a beautiful island surrounded by sparkling blue water. A giant crystal mountain stood at its center, shining like a diamond beneath the morning sun.

“The Island of the Crystal Compass,” Captain Kael whispered.

As the ship reached the shore, the crew stepped onto soft white sand.

Strangely…

There were no birds.

No animals.

No sound.

Only silence.

“This place feels… empty,” Zairry said.

Captain Kael nodded.

“Stay close.”

The crew followed an ancient stone path through a forest of enormous crystal trees.

Their branches glittered with thousands of colors, filling the air with tiny lights.

Suddenly…

A loud crack echoed through the forest.

The ground shook.

A massive stone guardian rose from beneath the earth.

Its glowing blue eyes stared directly at the pirates.

“No one may claim the Compass,” it boomed.

Several pirates drew their swords.

“Wait!” Zairry shouted.

He noticed strange symbols carved into the guardian’s chest.

They looked exactly like the symbols carved above the hidden library door.

“There must be another way,” he thought.

Looking around, he spotted four crystal pillars standing in a circle.

Each pillar had a missing piece.

Nearby, colorful crystal fragments lay scattered across the ground.

“It’s a puzzle,” Zairry realized.

While the pirates distracted the guardian, he carefully matched each crystal to its pillar.

Click.

Click.

Click.

Click.

The ground began to glow.

The guardian slowly lowered its head.

“You have chosen wisdom over violence,” it said.

“You may enter.”

A hidden passage opened inside the mountain.

At its end, resting on a marble pedestal, was the Crystal Compass.

It shimmered with golden light.

Captain Kael reached for it…

But just as his fingers touched the compass—

The room flickered.

One wall disappeared.

Then another.

The ceiling began fading into white emptiness.

“No…” whispered Zairry.

“It’s happening again.”

Far away, in a place beyond every story, a dark figure slowly rubbed another line from an ancient page.

Inside the mountain, the crystal walls cracked.

The island itself was beginning to disappear.

Captain Kael looked at Zairry.

“Run!”

The pirates raced toward the exit as pieces of the mountain vanished behind them.

When they finally reached the beach, Zairry turned around.

Half the island had already disappeared.

It was as though it had never existed.

He clenched his fists.

“Whoever the Eraser is…”

“I’ll stop them.”

At that very moment, somewhere deep inside the hidden library, one glowing book quietly slid a little farther out from its shelf.

It was waiting for Zairry’s return.

Chapter 4: The Librarian’s Secret

The moment Zairry whispered, “I’ll stop them…”

Everything around him began to glow.

The ocean disappeared.

The pirates faded into golden sparks.

The crystal island slowly dissolved into light.

For a second, Zairry felt as though he were floating through endless stars.

Then—

Thud.

He landed back inside the hidden library.

The pirate book gently closed on the shelf by itself.

Zairry looked around, breathing heavily.

“I’m… back.”

Everything was exactly as he had left it.

The endless shelves.

The floating books.

The tiny glowing lights above.

Had it all really happened?

He looked down.

In his hand was a small crystal coin engraved with a pirate ship.

“It was real…”

A gentle voice echoed through the library.

“You survived your first story.”

Zairry turned quickly.

This time, he wasn’t alone.

An old man wearing a long silver robe stood between the shelves. His white beard reached his chest, and his deep blue eyes seemed to hold centuries of memories.

“Who are you?” Zairry asked.

The old man smiled.

“I am the Librarian.”

“The Keeper of the Library Between Worlds.”

“You’ve been watching me?”

“For a very long time.”

Zairry frowned.

“Then why didn’t you help me?”

The Librarian sighed.

“Because every Guardian must discover the truth for himself.”

“Guardian?” Zairry repeated.

The old man nodded.

“Long ago, this library connected every story ever imagined. Every adventure, every kingdom, every dream exists somewhere on these shelves.”

He gently placed his hand on one of the books.

“But stories are alive.”

“They can grow.”

“They can change.”

“And…”

“They can die.”

Zairry remembered the sailor who had disappeared.

“The Eraser…”

The Librarian’s smile faded.

“Yes.”

“For centuries, the Eraser has searched for one thing.”

“What?”

“The Final Book.”

“The Final Book?” Zairry asked.

“It is the first story ever written.”

“If it is erased…”

The Librarian looked around at the endless shelves.

“Every story in every world will disappear forever.”

Silence filled the library.

Zairry slowly looked at the millions of books surrounding him.

“So every world I visit…”

“…is in danger?”

The Librarian nodded.

“I’m afraid so.”

Suddenly…

A loud crash echoed through the library.

Several books fell from a nearby shelf.

One of them burst open by itself.

Its pages glowed with emerald-green light.

A deep roar shook the room.

Rooooaaar!

Heat rushed from the open pages.

A giant claw slowly emerged from the book.

Then another.

Golden scales sparkled beneath the library lights.

The creature was trying to escape.

The Librarian’s eyes widened.

“No…”

“The Dragon World is collapsing!”

He looked directly at Zairry.

“Quick!”

“You must enter before it’s too late!”

The green light surrounded Zairry.

The dragon roared once more.

The library disappeared.

And Zairry fell into another unforgettable adventure.

Chapter 5: The Valley of Dragons

A powerful wind rushed past Zairry as he tumbled through a tunnel of green light.

He squeezed his eyes shut.

Then—

Thump!

He landed on soft green grass.

Slowly, he looked up.

His breath caught in his throat.

Towering mountains surrounded him, their peaks hidden among the clouds. Waterfalls poured down rocky cliffs, and the sky glowed with shades of orange and gold.

Then he heard it.

A mighty roar.

He looked up just in time to see five enormous dragons soaring through the sky.

Their scales shimmered like jewels.

One was emerald green.

Another was sapphire blue.

One blazed like fire.

One gleamed silver.

The largest of them all was a magnificent golden dragon with wings so wide they covered the sun.

“They’re… real,” Zairry whispered.

A cheerful voice interrupted his thoughts.

“There you are! You’re late again!”

A boy about Zairry’s age came running toward him, dressed in brown leather armor.

“I’m Kaien,” he said with a grin. “Come on! The Dragon Bonding Ceremony is about to begin!”

“The what?”

“There isn’t time to explain!”

Before Zairry could ask another question, Kaien pulled him toward a huge stone arena.

Hundreds of people filled the seats.

In the center stood dozens of young dragons, each waiting beside a glowing crystal.

An old woman wearing a crown stepped forward.

“Today,” she announced, “each young Guardian will meet the dragon chosen for them.”

One by one, the students approached the dragons.

Some dragons bowed.

Some ignored them.

One even sneezed a cloud of smoke, making everyone laugh.

Then it was Zairry’s turn.

He walked nervously toward the final crystal.

Nothing happened.

The crowd began whispering.

Suddenly…

The ground trembled.

A deep roar echoed across the valley.

The enormous golden dragon descended from the sky.

Instead of choosing one of the experienced riders…

It walked straight toward Zairry.

The valley fell silent.

The dragon lowered its head.

Its bright golden eyes met Zairry’s.

For a moment, neither of them moved.

Then the dragon gently touched its forehead against his.

A warm light surrounded them both.

Images flashed through Zairry’s mind.

Ancient mountains.

Forgotten battles.

The hidden library.

And…

The silver eraser.

The dragon suddenly stepped back.

Its eyes were filled with fear.

Before Zairry could understand why, a loud crack echoed through the valley.

One of the mountains began to disappear.

Not crumble.

Not explode.

Disappear.

As though someone had erased it from existence.

The dragons roared in panic.

High above the clouds, hidden from everyone else, a dark figure watched silently.

A silver eraser moved across the page of an ancient book.

Another piece of the Dragon World vanished.

Zairry looked toward the fading mountain and clenched his fists.

“The Eraser has found this world too.”

And this time…

The dragons were the target.

Chapter 6: Flight of the Golden Dragon

The valley was in chaos.

Dragons circled the sky, roaring in fear as another cliff slowly faded into nothingness.

“It’s disappearing!” someone shouted.

Villagers ran toward their homes, gathering children and supplies. The Dragon Riders mounted their dragons, searching the skies for the cause.

Zairry stood beside the Golden Dragon.

“What is happening?” he asked.

The dragon lowered its head and let out a soft growl.

Although it couldn’t speak, Zairry somehow understood its feelings.

The Heart of the Valley is in danger.

Kaien ran toward him.

“Zairry! The Elders need everyone at the Temple of Flames!”

Moments later, they reached a giant temple carved into the mountainside. Inside, an enormous crystal floated above a stone pedestal. It pulsed with a warm golden light.

An elderly dragon rider stepped forward.

“This is the Heart Crystal,” he explained. “It keeps the Dragon World alive.”

“But its light is fading.”

Everyone fell silent.

“If the crystal dies,” the Elder continued, “our world will disappear.”

Zairry stepped closer.

He noticed something strange.

Across the crystal’s surface were faint silver marks…

As if someone had tried to erase it.

“The Eraser…” he whispered.

Suddenly, the Golden Dragon roared.

It spread its wings and looked toward the tallest mountain in the valley.

The Elder gasped.

“It knows where the shadow is hiding!”

Without wasting another second, Zairry climbed onto the dragon’s back.

“You’ve ridden a dragon before?” Kaien asked.

“No,” Zairry admitted nervously.

“Then hold on tight!”

With one mighty leap, the Golden Dragon launched into the sky.

The wind rushed past them as they soared above forests, waterfalls, and snowy peaks.

For the first time in his life, Zairry was flying.

He laughed with excitement.

“This is incredible!”

But the joy didn’t last.

Ahead, dark clouds gathered around the highest mountain.

Lightning flashed.

The Golden Dragon suddenly slowed.

A cold voice echoed through the storm.

“You should have stayed in your own world, Guardian.”

A shadow appeared on the mountain peak.

Its face was hidden beneath a black hood.

In one hand, it held a long silver eraser that glowed with an eerie light.

The Eraser.

It smiled.

Then it pressed the eraser against the mountain itself.

Slowly…

The mountain began to disappear.

Rocks.

Trees.

Snow.

Even the sky around it started fading.

“No!” Zairry shouted.

The Golden Dragon let out a mighty roar and dived toward the mountain.

The final battle for the Dragon World…

…had begun.

Chapter 7: The Man with the Silver Eraser

The Golden Dragon soared through the storm.

Rain lashed against Zairry’s face as thunder rolled across the mountains.

Ahead, the hooded figure stood calmly on the edge of the highest cliff.

It didn’t move.

It didn’t speak.

It simply watched.

The Silver Eraser rested in its hand.

“Who are you?” Zairry shouted.

The figure slowly turned toward him.

“I have had many names,” it replied in a calm voice.

“But every story knows me as… The Eraser.”

The dragon landed on the cliff with a heavy thud.

The Eraser looked around at the valley below.

“Beautiful, isn’t it?” it said softly.

“It would be a shame if no one remembered it.”

Zairry stepped forward.

“Why are you destroying these worlds?”

The Eraser smiled.

“Destroying?”

“I am only removing what no one values anymore.”

With a gentle stroke of the Silver Eraser, a small tree beside the cliff disappeared.

There was no explosion.

No fire.

It simply faded away.

Zairry stared in disbelief.

The Eraser looked at him.

“Every story that is forgotten grows weaker. Every abandoned tale fades. I merely finish what time has already begun.”

“But these worlds are alive!” Zairry argued.

“They have people. Families. Dreams.”

“And they deserve to live.”

For the first time, the Eraser’s smile disappeared.

“So you have become attached to them.”

“Good.”

“That will make your failure even more painful.”

Before Zairry could react, the Eraser drew a circle in the air with the Silver Eraser.

A swirling portal of gray mist opened behind him.

The Eraser stepped into it.

Just before disappearing, he looked back.

“We will meet again, Guardian.”

“When the Final Book opens.”

The portal vanished.

The storm ended.

Sunlight broke through the clouds.

But something was wrong.

The Golden Dragon lowered its head sadly.

Zairry looked across the valley.

The tallest mountain…

…was gone.

Not damaged.

Not broken.

Gone.

As if it had never existed.

The villagers stood silently, unable to understand what had happened.

Only Zairry remembered.

The Elder Dragon Rider approached him.

“You cannot defeat him with strength alone.”

Zairry looked at the empty horizon.

“Then how?”

The Elder reached into his robe and removed a small object wrapped in blue cloth.

Inside was an old fountain pen made of silver and crystal.

Its tip shimmered with golden light.

“This,” the Elder said, placing it in Zairry’s hands, “is the Author’s Pen.”

“It has been waiting for the Guardian.”

“What does it do?” Zairry asked.

The Elder smiled.

“The Eraser removes stories.”

“The Author writes them again.”

The pen glowed warmly in Zairry’s hand.

For the first time since entering the Library Between Worlds…

He realized he wasn’t just a visitor.

He had been chosen for a reason.

Chapter 8: The Author’s Pen

Zairry held the silver pen carefully.

It felt warm in his hands, as though it were alive.

Tiny golden lines glowed along its surface, forming symbols he had never seen before.

“Is this really powerful enough to stop the Eraser?” he asked.

The Elder Dragon Rider smiled gently.

“It cannot defeat darkness with force.”

“It restores what hope has lost.”

Before Zairry could ask another question, the Golden Dragon nudged him toward the empty space where the mountain had once stood.

“Close your eyes,” the Elder said.

“Remember the mountain.”

Zairry obeyed.

He pictured the snowy peak, the waterfalls, the pine trees, and the nests of dragons high among the cliffs.

Then he opened his eyes.

“What now?”

“Write.”

“But… there’s no paper.”

The Elder pointed toward the sky.

“The world itself is your page.”

Taking a deep breath, Zairry lifted the Author’s Pen.

Its golden tip glowed brightly.

He slowly wrote one word in the air.

Mountain.

The glowing letters floated like stars.

For a moment…

Nothing happened.

Then the earth trembled.

A single stone appeared.

Then another.

Trees sprang from the ground.

Water rushed down fresh cliffs.

Snow covered the highest peak once more.

The mountain had returned.

The valley erupted in cheers.

Dragons filled the sky, roaring with joy.

Kaien laughed and hugged Zairry.

“You did it!”

The Golden Dragon spread its wings proudly, circling the restored mountain.

But the celebration was short-lived.

A young dragon flew down in panic.

“Elder!” it cried.

“The Book is changing!”

Everyone hurried back to the Temple of Flames.

Resting beside the Heart Crystal was an enormous ancient book.

Its pages had begun turning by themselves.

Words disappeared.

New words appeared.

Pictures changed.

Suddenly, a sentence burned itself across the page in glowing black letters.

The Guardian has rewritten the story.

The Eraser is watching.

A cold breeze swept through the temple.

The candles went out.

One by one.

Silence filled the room.

Then, on the final page of the book, a map slowly appeared.

It showed the Library Between Worlds.

And one book on a distant shelf began to glow a deep crimson.

Its title slowly became clear.

THE KINGDOM OF SHADOWS

The Librarian’s voice echoed faintly through the air, as though carried across worlds.

“Zairry…”

“It is time to return.”

The pages of the dragon book began to close.

A circle of golden light surrounded him.

The dragons bowed their heads in farewell.

Kaien smiled.

“You’ll come back someday, won’t you?”

Zairry smiled.

“I promise.”

The light grew brighter.

The Dragon World faded away.

When Zairry opened his eyes again…

He was standing in the Library Between Worlds.

But something had changed.

One shelf…

…was now completely empty.

Chapter 9: The Empty Shelf

The Library Between Worlds was silent.

Too silent.

Zairry looked around the endless hall. The floating lights still drifted through the air, and millions of books still rested on their shelves.

But one shelf…

…was completely empty.

The Librarian stood beside it, his expression filled with worry.

“It wasn’t empty before,” Zairry said.

The Librarian slowly shook his head.

“No.”

“There were twelve books here.”

“Twelve worlds.”

“Now only eleven remain.”

“What happened to the last one?”

The Librarian closed his eyes.

“It has already been erased.”

Zairry felt a chill run down his spine.

“A whole world… gone?”

The Librarian nodded.

“No one remembers it anymore.”

“Not even me.”

The words echoed through the library.

Not even me.

If the Keeper of the Library couldn’t remember a world…

How many others had already disappeared?

Suddenly, the Author’s Pen in Zairry’s pocket began to glow.

A tiny trail of golden light floated through the air.

“Follow it,” the Librarian whispered.

“It never lies.”

The glowing trail led them through endless rows of books.

Thousands became millions.

The shelves seemed to stretch forever.

Finally, the light stopped in front of a large crimson book.

Its cover was decorated with a silver crown.

The title shimmered.

THE KINGDOM OF SHADOWS

Before Zairry could touch it, the book opened by itself.

A folded letter slipped onto the floor.

It looked old.

Very old.

Across the front, written in beautiful golden handwriting, were the words:

To the Next Guardian

Zairry carefully unfolded the letter.

It read:

If you are reading this, then the Eraser has returned.

Do not trust every story.

Do not believe every hero.

Some villains wear crowns.

Some kings tell lies.

And remember…

The greatest danger does not live inside the books.

It is hiding inside the Library itself.

Zairry’s hands began to tremble.

He looked at the Librarian.

“Who wrote this?”

The Librarian stared at the letter in silence.

“I don’t know.”

“It wasn’t here yesterday.”

Just then—

Bang!

A heavy door somewhere deep inside the Library slammed shut.

The floating lights flickered.

Books began sliding out of their shelves on their own.

One after another.

The library wasn’t choosing a story anymore.

It was warning its Guardian.

Zairry tightened his grip on the Author’s Pen.

“Something is coming.”

Far away, hidden in the darkest corner of the Library Between Worlds, two glowing silver eyes slowly opened.

For the first time…

The danger wasn’t waiting inside a book.

It had entered the Library itself.
