Summary

Daehyun: Hello, hello! If you ask me who's the most charming person in this story, I'll definitely say myself. You might say the scar under my eye is terrifying! True, but I should mention - the one who gave me this scar is far more terrifying... Kang: One more word and I'll freeze you. Daehyun: See? You are terrifying! Kang: I am not. Daehyun: Let's leave it to the readers... I'm sure I'll win, and you'll be forced to listen to the new ballad I composed for you. Kang: Not a chance.

Author's Note

My name is Yuna.

To be honest, my path to writing began with silence. When I was younger, I was deeply hurt by the people around me. Their words. Their actions. Sometimes even senseless bullying. All of it chipped away at my confidence. It made me distance myself from others. I withdrew from almost everyone and became something of an introvert. And that was when my mind saved me.

It built a world. And I tasted it. And from that moment on, everything began.

Those worlds took on color. They took on fragrance. They even took on names and feelings. Slowly, I stepped into the world of writing. More and more novels followed, one after another. But none of them were truly my world. It was as if they weren't made for me. They didn't make me feel alive. You see, stories give us writers a feeling of being alive. It's as if the world of the story is real, and we're just standing in a corner, watching, taking notes, and then sharing it so others can get to know that world too.

Gradually, through reading a certain book, I found my path and began. Fantasy. This was exactly the world I had been searching for. The one where I could build strange, wondrous worlds with impossible laws. Imagine fire burning underwater. Impossible. But in fantasy novels, nothing is impossible.

The characters were born. And they usually became three main characters. Two of them are like old friends — one mischievous and funny, the other serious and quiet. And the third is destiny. The destiny that binds the three of them together.

You know, honestly, each of the three characters carries a little piece of me. A little of the words from my past. A little of the wounds. A little of the triumphs. And a little of the struggles for the future.

And now... The Crown of the Sky.

This story begins in the depths of the sea. Where a thousand-year-old Guardian named Kang lives under a punishment whose truth no one knows. A girl from the surface arrives — Mira — who has lost her soul and can feel nothing. And a Haetae guard named Daehyun who hides his pain behind endless jokes. These three are not meant to be perfect. They are meant to break. To make mistakes. To rise again. And maybe, just maybe, to learn that despite their wounds, they can still love.

If you've read this far, thank you. Thank you for your time. Thank you for giving this story a chance. I hope The Crown of the Sky is more than just a novel to you — I hope it's a journey. A journey to the depths of the sea, to the sky, to the hearts of people who, just like these characters, are learning to hope again.

Now let's go down. The water is cold. But I promise it's worth it.

With love,

Yuna
