Captivating mystery with incredible pacing—I need more!
"I was hooked on this story from the very first sentence. The author’s writing style is excellent, and the pacing kept me locked in. Detective Bonjai is an intriguing protagonist, and her ongoing obsession with 42 Ashcroft Lane builds great tension right from the start. The sequence where she finally goes inside after Charlotte’s message—only to be blindsided by Charlotte and Victor—was thrilling. The clue involving the missing person in the photograph was a brilliant touch that added a classic, eerie mystery element. The climax was intense, especially Bonjai escaping injured, but the ending left me with a lot of questions. Going home to her family only to feel invisible was a haunting final note. Because it is only three chapters long, it leaves the reader wondering if the "invisible" feeling is supernatural, psychological, or meant to remain an open-ended mystery. As a constructive suggestion, this story feels like it is just scratching the surface of its full potential. It currently feels a bit unfinished because the world and the characters are so compelling. Extending the story to explore the aftermath of her injuries, the true identities of Charlotte and Victor, and the meaning behind that final scene would give this narrative the deeper exploration it truly deserves. This is a fantastic foundation, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quick, atmospheric mystery!"

"This book was profound I find it Soo thrilling and captivating it hooked me up and the way the begining gaves us a major plot twist and in the end she escapes and the realization even tho the ending was quite unsettling it still let the reader rethink everything which is really immersive idea and overall iw ould rate it 5/5 excellent"

"42 Ashcroft Lane makes an excellent first impression. The opening chapters immediately pull you into a dark, unsettling mystery surrounding a murder, creating an eerie atmosphere that's tense, captivating, and difficult to look away from. By the end, though, I found myself with more questions than answers. The story hints at something much bigger beneath the surface, but because it's so short, the mystery never has the chance to fully unfold. That's not necessarily a flaw—the story works well as a brief, unsettling experience—but I couldn't help wishing there was more. The world and premise feel like they have the potential to support a much longer mystery. The writing itself is strong and easy to follow, though it occasionally slips into some more generic turns of phrase that stand out against the otherwise immersive prose. It's only a small thing, but it was noticeable enough at a few points to briefly pull me out of the story. Overall, 42 Ashcroft Lane is an intriguing short mystery with a wonderfully eerie atmosphere that leaves a lasting impression. My biggest criticism is also my biggest compliment—I simply wanted more. If this ever becomes a full-length story, I'd happily return to uncover the mysteries that Ashcroft Lane still keeps hidden."

Haunting and Disturbing Mystery
"I really enjoyed the atmosphere and tension throughout the story, the writing is clean, cinematic, and emotionally engaging. The final chapter, especially Bonjai’s sense of invisibility within her own family, was powerful. Victor and Charlotte were portrayed with frightening calm against Bonjai's keen observational skills. That said, I found myself wanting more clarity on a few key points. Bonjai holsters her gun early on but never reaches for it even when she’s cornered and threatened with a knife, which felt inconsistent for a trained detective. The ending also left me unsure whether she survived if she died in the house, it’s unclear how she was able to drive home. The biggest unresolved thread for me was the cut‐out person in the photograph. It’s a compelling mystery and clearly central to Bonjai’s investigation, but the story never reveals who that person was or why Charlotte and Victor erased them. I was hoping for at least a hint of the truth she spent months chasing. Overall, it’s a beautifully written and atmospheric piece. I just think the story would be even stronger with a bit more resolution to the core mystery. I think you have a fantastic tale to tell and would love to see this story further develop."

My only wish is that the story was longer. With just three chapters, it feels like there's so much more to explore. I would have loved to learn more about the history of the house, why it became such a mystery, and the secrets hidden in its past. It would also be fascinating to spend more time with Detective Bonjai and experience more of the investigation from the detective's perspective. Overall, it's an enjoyable and intriguing read that leaves you wanting more, and I hope the author considers expanding this world into a full-length novel someday."

"I enjoyed the suspense of this story, however, the ending left me... wanting. As if I hadn't read 3 chapter, but the first of many. As if the story isn't finished. I was a bit disappointed with the ending. Although, the writer does have a knack for suspense."
