Okay, so this story is based on a dream I had a while ago, and I’ve been working on it ever since. I’ve always been so eager to write it, but time never allowed for it, and I also just had other projects I wanted to finish/start first.
So, now I’m finally here! Welcome to Enemies at the End of the World, a Park Jimin bodyguard story where he was the Y/n’s enemy in high school and is now her bodyguard a decade later. At the end of the world, no less.
Yep, that’s right, we got:

This is a mature story. I recommend it to an 18+ audience, and if you are under 18, please be mindful of the potentially-triggering topics that may pop up.
Look, I’ve been reading mature fanfics since I was like 13, so I get it and won’t judge if you’re under 18 and reading this, just please remember to keep yourself safe online, and please read through the content warnings.

- Death (including mass death & implied death by suicide)

- Offensive humor and language (i.e., slurs and frequent swearing—Jimin in particular swears often)

*NOT SA. There will be no implications or discussions of familial abuse or any form of SA in this story. Any sexual content mentioned in this book is explicitly consensual.
While I do not write graphic sexual content (as in, I don’t describe private parts and the uh... ahem... plunging into the hot tub, if you know what I mean), there will still be many steamy scenes. This includes making out (including very desperate, very needy making out and the classic “fuck it” moment), undressing, the text stating the characters performed sex acts on one another, and summaries of sexual content.
So while I won’t be describing any private parts or going into detail about sex, there will still be spicy moments, and you will know if characters have had sex or have performed a sexual act. This is one of my long-format stories, so the intensity of the relationship is going to be pretty high.

ABOUT
This is a PJM x reader story, and it is an enemies to lovers (albeit softer enemies to lovers) with so much protective Jimin. Oh my God just so much protective Jimin.
I don’t care that I’m leaning into the cliches with the protective, sarcastic man who’s obsessed with his woman even if he won’t say it (but he’ll show it). I don’t care. I need to write a needy Jimin, okay???
It’ll be a slow burn romance, though not a “denial” romance where they’re constantly thinking “Omg no I don’t like him/her.” They’re just dealing with the end of the world, so they kiiinda have other priorities before they can act on their feelings 💀
This is written in third person limited, past tense. The POVs will alternate between Jimin and Y/n. It is not an omniscient story, so each POV is tailored to their specific personalities. Jimin’s POV is sassier and filled with more humor while Y/n’s is filled with “I-hate-my-life” speeches and lots of grunts and groans over everything Jimin does.
In short, Jimin is Jimin, and Y/n is Jungkook when he sees Jimin and Namjoon interacting.
Also, I use ( ) occasionally, but I’m using these as asides in the actual character POV. These are not author’s notes. I never include author’s notes in the middle of text, only separated from the core text at the end of chapters or sometimes at the beginning if applicable. The brackets are occasional but more noticeable in Jimin’s POVs since he’s pretty hardcore in the “I use humor to cope” camp. So, please do not view them as author’s notes but rather character asides.
Also also, Jimin’s POV tends to utilize slang, short forms, and choppier sentences. He’s a plane nerd, too, so sometimes in his POV descriptions will match that personality (i.e., he’ll reference specific plane crashes, specific terms like phugoid cycle, and relate what he’s going through to planes). If there is ever anything you want me to explain, I am more than happy to, just let me know!

It goes without saying that this is a fictional story. Jimin and any other BTS members who may appear are merely face and name claims. This is not meant to be commentary on BTS as people, sexualize them, demonize them, or even glamorize them.
Please do not mistake real life with fiction or believe I am making grander commentary on them as people. Fanfic is simply an avenue to tell a story. They may act closely to their real life counterparts, or they may act very differently. Either way, please remember this is fictional.

Seeing as this is an apocalypse story, to aid the worldbuilding even in a more limited POV story, political figures and governments will be mentioned to show the broader scale of how the reaction to the end-of-world scenario is going. I.e., the story initially takes place in California, therefore Gavin Newsom is mentioned multiple times.
