Chapter 1

Min-ho saw that moment again. The cold concrete, the bloodstains, his mother and father collapsing, the dull thud of the gun. It happened every time. He woke up screaming. His chest was heaving. He was drenched in sweat.

It is the same thing again. Years pass, but that sound never fades.

He stood up and looked into the mirror. The hatred in his eyes was more alive than ever. He put on his uniform. With every button he fastened, he felt one step closer to his revenge. The crackling sound from his radio brought him back to reality.

Min-ho, there is a gang conflict on East Street. Civilians are involved, we need backup immediately!

This was a sign for him. Maybe the killers were there tonight. When he arrived at the scene, everything was chaotic. He found himself in a dark alley, only to realize he was trapped. A few gang members surrounded him. The glint of their knives looked deadly in the darkness.

It seems we will say goodbye to a police officer tonight, – one said.

Min-ho was preparing to draw his weapon when a shadow suddenly lunged from behind. It was Seo-jun. He had come here without his leader's knowledge. They stood back-to-back.

It would be a shame for a cop like you to die here, wouldn't it? – Seo-jun said calmly.

I do not care who you are, just get out of the way! – Min-ho replied.

Save your arrogance, officer! Just follow my lead.

As the fight began, their movements were perfectly in sync. Seo-jun used his knife with precision, while Min-ho covered his back. Once the fight was over, there was silence. They looked into each other's eyes. In that moment, time seemed to stand still. Seo-jun smiled, winked, and vanished into the darkness.t
