In the kingdom of the South Haneul, every royal was born with destiny except one. A girl named Park Yeoleum was neither a royal nor from a noble family. She is the daughter of the royal physician who was invited to treat the ill Queen, only to help care for the royal. Prince Kim doesn’t like strangers in the palace.
Yeoleum is the a girl with tan skin, curly hair and a quiet one. She learned medicine from her father as he is an royal physician, who lives in the mountain forest and serve people when people need them or when they were invited by the royals.
She love medicine as she felt like a magician whenever she cure someone. She don't wanna stay behind her father's name anymore as she reached 21 now. Want to build her own name in medicine field. She is a quick learner and a curious creator who find everything curious and fun.
The crown prince Kim is a calm and composed person. no one understand the feelings and storm going inside his mind. He is also not allowed to express his emotions. Everything has to be perfect to fit the throne. But... What he liked? What he want to achieve? The pressure inside him to fulfill the duty to save the kingdom.
The Whisper started to spread along the palace as she walked along her way inside. No warm welcome, no friendly smile, nothing...
Meanwhile, Prince Kim was practicing Swordsmanship in the nearby field. A servant came to inform the prince that the royal physician’s daughter had come to the palace. But Prince Kim didn’t bother to react from his cold reaction and his sword practice. After he defeated the opponent in the practice, he turned to the servant and said in a deep voice, “I didn’t ask.”
She walked along the palace, fully lost, not knowing where to go. As she walked along the palace, she asked the people around for directions to meet the officer who was in charge to guide her about her duty here. Finally, a middle-aged maid helped her with the directions. But after she had taken the directions in her mind, she came near an alley, again lost. She heard sounds from the open ground across the alley. When she walked inside, looking at the paper in her hand, she bumped into someone.
Prince Kim finished with his practice and was retreating to his chamber, dismissing the guards. He took his personal sword and walked along the alley, sliding his sword in the armor and bumped into someone. He held her elbow before she stumbled back. He was surprised to see a woman on that side where soldiers train. He didn’t say anything, and about to walk past her, she held his hand as she saw a cut on his forearm and it’s slightly bleeding. The guards moved faster to catch her. “Step back!!”
She froze and dunno what she did wrong. She held her hand above. “I just thought of help... I am a physician.” The guards stepped forward. She quickly took medicine from her bag and cleaned the wound and dressed it, without knowing the Crown Prince, Kim. Prince Kim didn’t say anything just stood there, looking at the way she was handling the wound.
The people around them froze and looking at the scene. The guards held her back by gripping her arms. The Prince gestured to them to leave her, so the guards let her go. The prince looked at her, a little suspicious and surprised, but didn’t show it on his face.
The prince left the place after that without a word and the servant approached Yeoleum, a middle-aged man with light gray hair and a mustache. “Who are you, dear?”
“I am Park Yeoleum, the physician’s daughter. I lost my direction even after I asked one helper.” I bowed to him.
“Ah... So, you are the daughter of the physician Park? Come, I will lead the way for you.” He walked forward and Yeoleum followed him behind, taking her bag from the floor. She forgot to ask the man who the she treated before that makes the guards alert. She looked around, mentally taking note of the pathway. Once they reached the throne room, the middle-aged man left her there and took his leave.
“His Majesty.” Yeoleum bowed to the King. “You are the royal physician’s daughter? You may rise.” The King asked her to rise. Once Yeoleum rose, the King continued, “You can stay in the physician’s chamber. The things and herbs you needed for the treatment are mostly there.”
“As you said, His Majesty.” Yeoleum said politely.
“If you need anything for your work, you can always ask Lin Yeonlin. He knows about the herbs around this palace.” The King pointed to the young man behind Yeoleum. “He will give you the details about the Queen’s condition. You can assess the Queen tomorrow and start your treatment from tomorrow.” The queen gestured to Lin as he walked to Yeoleum.
“Miss, I will guide you to your physician’s chamber.” They both bowed to the queen and left.
She reached the chamber and the medicine achiever of the palace, where she can find many books related to the kingdom's medical history. The books that tells about the lands and the type of herb that the land yield.
She cleaned the place as the place was covered with power dust and a spider web...
