Chapter 1

There are many different religions and beliefs in this world, but what if none of them are true? So there are the Christians, who believe that God and Jesus are the saviours to all, and things like that. And then there are the Jews, who are like the Christians, but do not believe in Jesus, and really rely on the Torah to tell them what to do and how to live your life. There are many other religions that I am not going to get into right now because well, you get the point.

So, what if, none of those were true? What if the smallest religion in the world, my group of religious people, were the only ones that are ACTUALLY right? Well, that’s just the case. We are the Spirituals. We believe in Spirit Animals, and how every person has one. Many of us find out what our animal is, but we do not actually summon one. Until now. Until Katna.

So yes, as you probably know from that ominous little bit at the beginning (you’re welcome for that mystery by the way), and from the last paragraph, I am part wolf. A wolf is my spirit animal, as I found out as a child. I realized that I was the only person in my school who was carefree, strong, and courageous, and kind, all at the same time, which are the exact requirements for the wolf(So no, I did not find out by liking to howl).

I first summoned Katna in the 5th grade, and at first, I was a little scared. Why did this wolf just jumped out of my hand in a burst of light? Why do I feel an intense connection to this animal? Why does this animal make me feel safe? All these questions were whirring around in my head, and just as I was beginning to get a headache, Katna rubbed against my outstretched palm, and they all disappeared.

My name is Katna She said inside of my head And I am here to help you

“What!?!!?!” I said out loud; “Who are you??? Why are you here??? How did you-” She cut me short.

Patience, Lisa. I know all about you, and you will learn all about me in time. All you need to know now, Is that I am a part of your spirit, and I am always with you. And with that, Katna disappeared in a flash of light and was gone.

I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my inner forearm on my right arm. I turned my hand over, to reveal a tattoo, of none other than a wolf. It looked exactly like Katna. It wasn’t there before. I was confused for a second, then realized that it must be her. She disappeared in a flash of light, and then this tattoo appeared. It must be.

Anyways, I was a fifth grader, with a tattoo, so that added some questions. I didn’t mean to get the tattoo, but it had appeared, and I couldn’t get rid of it. So, I had to wear long-sleeved shirts every day. Even in summer. It was painful.

But, now I am 16, and it’s different. I can FINALLY wear short-sleeved shirts, and tank tops, which is AWESOME because it is finally NORMAL for me to have a tattoo. Other than my style change, I was to do something else every day. I had to summon Katna. And I had to keep it a secret.
