"This story is wonderfully written — the author’s style is so vivid and immersive, every moment unfolds clearly in your mind like something you’re seeing with your own eyes. It’s such a gift when an author can make you feel every scene that deeply 🤍 And the ending? Absolutely perfect. I love how beautifully it honors both versions of her — it was heartbreaking when the doll Maria broke, yet there was such gentle peace in it too, because it meant the real, living Maria survived and blossomed. Even as she grew up and life moved on, I never felt she truly forgot — sewing those doll dresses and telling stories about a doll that whispers? That small, tender detail says everything. And seeing how far child Maria came — surviving illness, loss, and so much, then growing into a nurse, a wife, a mother and grandmother — it’s the most full-circle, satisfying conclusion I could have hoped for. The author wrapped it all up with so much heart — I couldn’t ask for a better ending 😭"
