A Different Magical Universe
"The Hollow Mage is honestly a very good and refreshing story. Alexandra Larosa is an interesting protagonist because she has a way of overcoming almost every obstacle, whether it involves magic, mana, or simply finding answers to the questions around her. What I liked the most is how the story uses knowledge to counter magic. It makes the magic system feel different and refreshing instead of just being about who has more power. I also really liked how the higher officials at the school recognized Alexandra’s abilities and take her seriously. The dialogues are good, and the cliffhangers at the end of the chapters definitely make you want to keep reading. The only thing I felt could be improved is the supporting characters. Except for the librarian, some of the characters who are introduced come and go without having much impact on the story. Giving some of them their own POVs or letting us understand their thoughts and motivations more could make them feel more important and add even more depth to the story. Overall, The Hollow Mage is a fantastic and refreshing story with a unique take on magic and knowledge. Alexandra is definitely the highlight, and I’m interested to see where her journey goes next."
