Sunlight Through A Pane
I often wonder how you look,
How your voice would say my name;
How sunlight lingers in your smile,
And if you ever… feel the same.
I giggle as I read your letters,
Wishing you were within my reach.
I could've leaned upon your shoulder...
Should I, or shouldn't I, wish?
Would I have recognized you in a crowd,
Or passed your shadow by?
Would your voice hold all the warmth
Your letters can't deny?
The letters that folds into my days
Like sunlight through a pane.
A stranger shouldn't feel like home—
Yet somehow, you remain.
I wonder if we ever meet,
Beyond the lines of ink,
Would I be all you've dreamed of—
Or less than you might think?
I wonder if we'd sit in silence,
As strangers often do.
Or would you steal the quietness away,
The way you always do?
