Honeymoon
Certain moments remain imprinted on the soul, like indelible marks on a blank sheet of paper. Our wedding was one of those moments.
After so many tribulations, after studying, fighting, and saving each other, we were now something more: we were one. A bond so profound that, before meeting Nick, would have never even crossed my mind.
I lived for entire centuries in solitude, suppressing every emotion and hiding behind a thick armor that no one, before him, had ever managed to shatter. Now, it feels almost natural to feel all of this. It is as if for my entire existence I had done nothing but flee from feelings, missing out on everything and never truly living. But now I have a second chance. And I have absolutely no intention of wasting it.

Our honeymoon was moving along beautifully. We had chosen the Lake District as our destination, a place rich in charm, mystery, and always steeped in deep romance. We took every single moment to savor the sweet scents of the forest and the enchantment of the lakes which, with their hidden waterfalls, seemed to plunge into one another.
Scarlett was walking by my side on that balmy night of exploration when I decided we would stop near a small, shallow body of water, completely tucked away in the wild vegetation.
The moon was high in the sky, illuminating the entire surface of the lake and reflecting its radiant light. At that moment, kissed by that silver glow, Scarlett was even more beautiful than I had ever dared to imagine.
— “You are beautiful,” — I told her softly, brushing a lock of fire-red hair away from her face.
She smiled and kissed me with passion, placing her warm hands on my hips.
— “Come on, I want to teach you something,” — she said in a cheerful, playful voice, gently urging me to follow her toward the shore.
She had decided to teach me how to swim.
Initially, I was very skeptical, but seeing her glide into the water with such feline grace gave me the strength I needed to dive in. Holding my hand and never letting go, she slowly helped me gain confidence with the water. I never would have suspected that I would manage to learn. When she then began to undress in the water, letting the moon caress all her perfect shapes, even the sensation of cold that wrapped around me since I had immersed myself completely disappeared.
In a short time, we found ourselves naked, held tight to one another, kissing under the moonlight. In that place forgotten by the world, with Scarlett by my side, I felt that everything was finally possible.
