Princess Sparkles
The most beautiful cat I’d ever seen. Trembling and begging for food. The other outdoor cats chased her away, afraid she’d take our focus. Yet, with a calming word, I called out. I offered chicken and she ate it.
A calico with a patchwork of black, ginger and rich brown fur. White formed an upside-down V from her mouth and covered her underside. Gloves of purest white covered each paw up to the elbow. Her voice, an understated and soft meow.
From the first time I saw this stray, I knew I had to have her. Speaking in a soft voice, I knelt and tossed out meat. She rushed over to grab it. Growling, she backed off, fearful the outdoor cats would steal it, but I waved to keep them away.
Speaking an apposite word I held out a hand for her to sniff. Slowly at first, she approached. Sniffing she touched my knuckles. Almost immediately fear abated. Purring, she rubbed against my hand. She’d welcomed me and I stroked her in all the places cats love. Like putty in my hands, she melted.
Soon, the stray became our cat. Sparkles. Life was great. This soft spoken, understated, cuddleable ball of fluff who purrs if you even look at her had joined our home. Then she had babies, and more babies, then THEY had babies...
Now I’m THAT person...
These are the stories of my catz. The story of how a desire to own one cat turned our house upside down and filled our lives with chaos and mischief.
These stories are sometimes based upon real-life events, though other times they are fictional. Though their personalities are 100% real. These cats are like this.
