This poem tells the story of a college trip to Blackpool on 12th June 2019, which begins with high excitement but quickly turns into an overwhelming day. Expecting to go on the roller-coasters at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, the narrator experiences an intense emotional meltdown upon realising they are only visiting the actual seaside and arcades, and lack the money needed for a ride wristband. Though the day is filled with sensory overload, tears, and a confusing trip at college. Despite ending the day in a foul mood and declaring it the worst trip of their life, the narrator ultimately finds peace and relief upon returning to the comfort of their home and bedroom.
