Chapter 1
I decided to take a gap year from my studies and set off on an unforgettable adventure to Denmark. The excitement began the moment I boarded my two-hour flight, knowing I was about to experience a new country, culture, and way of life. During the journey, I spent my time researching the places I wanted to visit, from Copenhagen’s colourful waterfront at Nyhavn to its historic castles, fascinating museums, and beautiful parks.
As the plane drew closer to Denmark, I couldn’t wait to begin exploring everything the country had to offer and make the most of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
I decided to travel alone because I believed it would give me the freedom to explore at my own pace without having to compromise with a group. I could choose where to go, what to see, and how long to stay at each destination. As soon as the plane touched down, I eagerly made my way through the airport, my excitement growing with every step. I couldn’t stop thinking about the famous landmarks I was about to visit, the vibrant streets I would wander through, and the delicious Danish food I was eager to try. It felt like the beginning of an unforgettable adventure, and I couldn’t wait to experience everything Denmark had to offer.
The taxi ride to the hotel was an exciting first glimpse of Denmark. As we drove through the streets, I admired the beautiful mix of modern buildings and historic architecture, colourful houses, and busy cafés filled with people enjoying the day. The clean streets, cyclists passing by, and peaceful atmosphere made the city feel welcoming and unique. Every new sight made me even more eager to start exploring and discover everything Denmark had to offer.
The taxi slowly pulled up outside the impressive hotel, its grand entrance towering above me. The elegant building looked even more magnificent than I had imagined, with its large glass windows, stylish design, and welcoming atmosphere. As the taxi driver stepped out and opened my door, I took a moment to admire the hotel, feeling a mix of excitement and anticipation as I prepared to begin the next part of my journey.
