Chapter 1: My Name is Uchiha Gen
My name is Lu Xuan. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I would transmigrate, especially into such a godforsaken world.
In this life, my parents were cut down on the battlefield shortly after I was born, leaving me a total orphan.
My current name is Uchiha Gen. I am three years old and was taken in by my eldest uncle. I have an older cousin named Madara and a brat my own age named Izuna. Besides them, there are three younger ones: Tobu, Kon, and Ryo.
Madara always carries that “overpowered main character” expression on his face. At least, I’ve never seen him smile. Every time he sees me, his first words are always, “Have you trained today?” The frequency is comparable to people asking “Have you eaten yet?” in my previous life.
Train your sister! Do you think everyone is a cultivation maniac like you? I’m only three! High-intensity training is going to kill me, you know.
As for Izuna, for some reason, we’ve always rubbed each other the wrong way. We get into a scrap every two days, rain or shine. Of course, I’m slightly stronger than him, so he’s the one who ends up eating dirt every time.
Unfortunately, every time he loses, he goes to get backup. Madara just happens to be a total “younger brother complex” type. In the end, I’m always the one who suffers.
By a slowly flowing river, a three-year-old child sat with his knees pulled to his chest, watching the clear water drift by. He couldn’t help but lament his tragic fate.
“Naruto... the Warring States period... the Uchiha... this world is trying to play me to death!” Gen tossed a pebble into the river, his face clouded with gloom.
Before transmigrating, he had watched Naruto and knew the plot fairly well. But those events were set decades after the establishment of Konoha. They had absolutely nothing to do with the current era. At this rate, whether he could even live long enough to see that time was a major question.
The original story mostly glossed over the Warring States period, appearing primarily in Hashirama Senju’s memories.
But no matter how little the original work described it, one thing was clear: the Warring States was a cruel era with an incredibly high mortality rate. Even children were sent to the battlefield.
In the original work, when Madara first met Hashirama, he mentioned that he originally had five brothers, but now only one was left. That remaining one was, of course, Izuna.
Wait...
Thinking of this, Gen was suddenly struck by a realization. He had overlooked a critical detail.
He had always assumed that as a transmigrator, he wasn’t counted among Madara’s biological brothers. With Izuna, Tobu, Kon, and Ryo, that made fourplus Madara, it made five brothers total. He had been careless, but thinking about it now, something was wrong.
Madara’s exact words were, “I originally had five brothers.” That meant Madara didn’t include himself in that count. Including Madara, there were actually six brothers in total.
Gen felt a cold sweat break out across his back. There were five brothers in the original history, but now there were four younger ones. It was obviousoriginal history included him, the adopted cousin. And unfortunately, by the time Madara met Hashirama, Gen had already died in battle without even leaving a name behind.
Gen took a deep breath and forced himself to calm down. He possessed the soul of an adult, after all; he wouldn’t fall into a panic over a mere deduction.
“If my guess is right, Madara and Hashirama’s first meeting happens when they are around eight or nine. Madara is six this year. In the worst-case scenario, my predecessor would have died within the next two years.”
Gen’s gaze turned cold, and his eyes shifted into a deep, blood-red. A Single Tomoe spun slowly within his pupils, reflecting off the water’s surface.
He had awakened this Sharingan when he was only one year old, and no one knew about it but himself. In this Warring States era, where human life was worth less than grass, it was impossible to survive without a hidden ace.
In the Uchiha clan, the earlier one awakened their eyes, the greater their potential. In the original story, the genius Itachi awakened his at age eight and was called a once-in-a-century prodigy.
From what Gen knew of this era, most Uchiha didn’t awaken their eyes until their teens. Anyone who did so before ten was called a genius. Madara had awakened his at age five and was hailed as the hope of the clan. Someone like Gen, who awakened at age one, was unheard of. If word got out, it would cause an unprecedented uproar.
Looking at his Sharingan, he felt a sense of security. He thought, Since awakening them two years ago, I’ve been stuck at Single Tomoe due to my chakra levels. I’ll likely reach Two-Tomoe next year. If the original Uchiha Gen died within these two years, I have to double my training.
Ding!
“Behind the Scenes Big Boss System starting up. Binding host: Uchiha Gen.”
“What?” Gen suddenly felt a splitting headache as a massive influx of information surged into his mind. It only began to subside after an hour.
“Binding complete. World identified: Naruto. Main Quest issued: Become the ultimate big boss of this world and unify the globe. Reward: Ownership of the Naruto World! Time limit: Until the end of the plot. Penalty for failure: Obliteration!”
“Hey, don’t just issue quests on your own! I haven’t even figured out what’s going on yet!” Gen roared inwardly, clutching his head.
“This system is only responsible for issuing tasks, not for explanations. Please comprehend the details yourself, Host.”
Gen gritted his teeth and began to organize the information in his mind. Simply put, this was a system designed to turn someone into a “Big Boss.” It had various functions, and he could exchange points for anything within the Naruto worldprovided he had enough points. Points were earned by completing various tasks issued by the system.
Once he finished sorting the information, Gen felt a surge of wild joy. This was the ultimate “golden finger” for a transmigrator! Even if it was three years late, it was finally here. He wasn’t about to complain.
Gen opened the exchange menu to see what was available, and the first few items made him gasp.
Rinnegan, Grade: SSS, Cost: 1,000,000 points.
Sage’s Body, Grade: SSS, Cost: 1,000,000 points.
Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, Grade: SS, Cost: 500,000 points.
Gen’s lip twitched as he counted the zeros. At this rate, he’d be saving up until the end of time.
“Wait, isn’t there some kind of newbie starter pack?” Gen asked internally.
“In response to the Host’s inquiry: The first benefit can be a complimentary C-rank Ninjutsu or a one-time upgrade to the Sharingan. Please choose.”
Gen’s eyelids twitched. What do you mean ‘in response to the Host’s inquiry’? If I hadn’t asked, were you just going to keep it?
He didn’t even have to think about the C-rank Ninjutsu. The Uchiha were a major clan; while S-rank techniques were rare, C-rank ones were as common as dirt if you had the strength.
“Upgrade my Sharingan.”
As soon as he spoke, a warm current surged from within his body into his eyes. His pupils felt a burning heat. A minute later, Gen rushed to the riverbank. In the reflection, the Two-Tomoe were clearly visible.
