An Ordinary Morning
The first rays of sunlight slipped through the white curtains of the Frost family home, filling the bedroom with a warm golden glow. Outside, the peaceful streets of Florida slowly came to life. Birds sang from the trees, the cool morning breeze carried the scent of blooming flowers, and everything seemed calm and ordinary.
It looked like just another summer morning.
No one could have imagined that this ordinary day would become the beginning of an extraordinary journey.
The Frost family was one of the most respected families in the neighborhood.
Mac Frost was a brave and honest police officer. Everyone in the city admired him for his courage and dedication to justice. No matter how difficult his work became, he always found time for his family, believing that they were the greatest treasure in his life.
His wife, Lisa Frost, was a veterinarian. She had a gentle heart and loved every animal she treated. Her kindness and patience made her not only an excellent doctor but also a wonderful mother.
Together, they had twin daughters—Flora and Daisy.
Although the sisters looked almost identical, their personalities were completely different.
Flora was quiet, thoughtful, and curious. She loved observing the world around her and often found herself wondering what mysteries lay beyond the ordinary. She believed that every person had a story waiting to be discovered.
Daisy was cheerful, energetic, and outgoing. She enjoyed making new friends and could make almost anyone laugh. Wherever Daisy went, excitement followed.
Despite their differences, the twins shared an inseparable bond. They were sisters, best friends, and each other’s greatest supporters.
“Girls!” Lisa called from downstairs. “Wake up! If you don’t get ready now, you’ll be late for school.”
Flora pulled the blanket over her head.
“Just five more minutes, Mom,” she mumbled sleepily.
Daisy giggled from the other bed.
“You say that every single morning.”
Before Flora could reply, the bedroom door opened.
Lisa stood at the entrance with her hands on her hips, pretending to look serious.
“I heard that.”
Both sisters burst into laughter.
“I’ve already prepared breakfast,” Lisa said with a smile. “Your father had to leave early for work, so hurry downstairs before everything gets cold.”
Flora rubbed her eyes and glanced at the clock hanging on the wall.
Her eyes widened.
“Daisy...”
“What?”
“It’s already seven fifteen!”
The twins stared at each other for a second before jumping out of bed.
“Oh no!”
Within moments, the room became a complete mess.
School uniforms were pulled from the wardrobe, books disappeared into backpacks, shoes were searched for under the bed, and hairbrushes rolled across the floor.
Lisa watched the chaos with an amused smile.
“Every morning is the same with you two.”
A few minutes later, Flora and Daisy rushed downstairs, still fixing their uniforms.
The delicious smell of pancakes filled the dining room.
Daisy immediately reached for one.
Lisa gently tapped her hand.
“Sit down first.”
Daisy smiled sheepishly.
“Sorry, Mom.”
The three of them sat together at the table.
For a few peaceful minutes, the only sounds were plates, forks, and quiet conversation.
Suddenly, Flora stopped eating.
“Daisy...”
Her sister looked up.
“Did you finish the history project?”
Daisy smiled confidently.
“Of course. I finished it yesterday evening. What about yours?”
“I completed mine too.”
Flora sighed with relief.
Then Daisy frowned.
“Wait...”
“What?”
“When do we have to submit it?”
The sisters looked at each other.
Their expressions changed instantly.
“Today!”
Both of them sprang from their chairs.
“We’re late!”
Lisa couldn’t help laughing.
“You haven’t even finished your breakfast.”
“We’ll eat during recess,” Flora replied while grabbing her school bag.
Lisa quickly packed the remaining pancakes into two lunch boxes and handed one to each of them.
“At least take these.”
“Thanks, Mom!”
The twins hurried toward the front door.
“And don’t run across the road!” Lisa called after them.
“We won’t!” they answered together.
The front door closed behind them.
The warm July morning welcomed the sisters as they hurried toward Florida Green School.
Neither of them noticed the strange emerald light that shimmered high above the clouds for only a brief moment.
It disappeared as quickly as it had appeared.
Far beyond the human world, hidden where no ordinary person could ever reach, someone watched the twins in silence.
The time had finally come.
And although Flora had no idea, destiny had already begun to call her name.
