Tides

"“Because feelings aren’t sins.” This novel’s essence is genuine, heartfelt storytelling at its best. It's full of intense, reflective lyricism. Yet it always proceeds clearly, directly and sustains its emotional beats. The tide itself relates universal human truths in its ebb, flow and swirl. Yet the story remains grounded in ordinary everyday living. The settings are engaging and sensory as they describe family life, friendship and love. All the characters are relatable and well-rounded. Particularly, Kai and Leilani, the romantic leads, are believable individuals in all their complex passions, unexpressed and revealed. Equally, the secondary characters who impact the story are not two-dimensional. This shows the writers' craft. In summary, be prepared to enjoy a true emotional ride, like the outgoing and incoming tides of actual lived lives. A very enjoyable read. Warm to the core. "
