Chapter 1
Nick's POV
"Yay. Yay, Uncle hay is moving in! Uncle hay is moving in." My three year old daughter, Madeline cheered happily.
This was a far cry from where she had previously been two months ago.
You see, two months ago both hers and my world came crashing down around us.
Her mother my ex-fiance left us two months ago.
And since I work and didn't want to leave her in the care of a stranger my childhood best friend Hayden James is moving in with us to help out.
"Careful there, firecracker you don't want to hurt yourself." Hayden warned lovingly as he walked past my hyperactive princess.
He followed me up the stairs and to the guest bedroom which was now his bedroom, I suppose.
The walls are painted gray with white trim. It had its own bathroom inside which had white wallpaper black and white tile, for the shower
On the left side of the bed was a large bay window with a white curtain over it. And on the right, was a small Oak chest of drawers with a lamp on top.
And at the end of the bed was a 40 inch flat screen television mounted to the wall and a bigger chest of drawers underneath that.
There was a queen size bed in the center of the room and had a white bed sheets on it, with a black and white and gray comforter and matching pillowcase on top.
"Here you go Uncle Hayden, this is the last box." Madeline spoke, passing Hayden a medium sized box.
Inside the box was a few pieces of Hayden's clothing alongside a framed picture of Hayden, madeline, and I when Madeline was first born.
Meredith has always been superficial, so she didn't want to get in the picture without her makeup and hair being done
"Who wants pizza for dinner?" I asked Hayden and Madeline.
"Me!" Both Hayden and Madeline said simultaneously.
"Great! I'll go and make the call." I told both of them before leaving the room to make the call.
Twenty minutes later the three of us were sat on the couch watching monsters Inc, Madeline's choice. With a medium pepperoni pizza sat between us.
It was a great night.
