Summary

Thousands of years ago, twelve celestial spirits known as the Aethri chose human Keepers to protect the balance of the world. Together they sealed their powers inside magical Relic Sigils, hidden within twelve Sanctum Vaults across different civilizations. After a devastating war, the Vaults were sealed and forgotten. Now, mysterious earthquakes, strange lights, and impossible dreams signal that the seals are breaking. Lyra Ashwood accidentally awakens the first Vault beneath her grandfather's bookstore and becomes the first Keeper of a new age. As new Keepers appear across the world, an immortal collector of relics begins gathering the Vaults to unlock the legendary Thirteenth Gate—a place said to grant the power to rewrite reality. To stop him, the Keepers must learn the forgotten history of the Aethri, face ancient betrayals, and decide whether humanity deserves magic at all.

Ancient symbols appeared in circles around her.

The wooden floor slowly split apart.

A staircase descended into darkness.

Taking a deep breath, Lyra stepped forward.

Each step awakened glowing crystals hidden in the stone walls.

At the bottom lay a vast chamber untouched by time.

Twelve enormous doors stood in a perfect circle.

Each door carried a different glowing symbol.

A phoenix.

An owl.

A wolf.

A lion.

A dragonfly.

A deer.

And six more she had never seen before.

In the center rested a magnificent crystal vault sealed by twelve locks.

The silver compass floated from Lyra’s hand and gently settled into a circular space at the heart of the vault.

Click.

One lock opened.

Then another.

Then another.

The chamber shook.

Golden light burst from every corner.

The twelve doors slowly opened together.

Tiny lights drifted into the air.

One became two.

Two became ten.

Ten became hundreds.

They shimmered like tiny stars.

Some had wings made of light.

Some carried glowing tails.

Some looked like living flames.

Others sparkled like rivers, forests, storms, or moonlight.

Lyra could only whisper one word.

“Beautiful...”

A tiny golden spirit floated toward her.

Its bright eyes met hers, and it smiled.

“After three thousand years,” it said softly, “the Keepers have finally returned.”

Far beyond Luminara, ancient Sanctum Vaults hidden beneath deserts, mountains, forests, oceans, and forgotten temples answered the same call.

One by one…

The Aethri awakened.

The Age of Keepers had begun.
