Chapter 1
Edith examines what has happened, “Where am I? I sense my body. It is all there, all absolute. Did I nod off?
I must have. How peculiar it is to be dreaming and be mindful that I am in my dream. I want to wake up
now. This is a beautiful location full of exotic plants and trees that Edith has never seen before. All of the
greenery is full of the utmost amazing, coloured berries, which look immensely inviting. Edith is focusing
hard, “Why am I not waking up? I feel awake, yet I am still here.” After a time, not sure how long, she starts
to become anxious and, using her logic, examines the specifics of her situation, “I ’am a fifteen- year-old,
intelligent, logical teenager, let me reason this through. It was a beautiful summer’s day. I was in the back
garden of my house where I live with my parents and siblings. I was on a reclining garden seat, reading a book
and drinking an iced tea with ice cubes from glass tumbler. Perhaps I fell off the chair? Am I concussed?”
“Yes, perhaps that is, it.” She remembers her mum saying that a neighbour got a concussion once but did not
remember her saying they went to a new land. Only, that they suffered short-lived confusion, yet it is for
certain a logical explanation. Scrutinizing to her left, there tides a mammoth sea, rendered from the bluest of
blues, something suddenly emerges. Edith feels so terrified, she begins to tremble, but she cannot get up and
run, as her legs are inactive, frozen in the moment. Even if she could, where could she run? Would running
east take her home or south or west? This sloshy-looking creature that emerged out of the sea is getting closer
and closer. It is like a human figure, which is walking towards her. It has the form of a human; well, it does
not, although it has a head, two arms, two legs, and a torso. They are all where they are on a human, yet
although it has substance, it also looks sloshy. It sways like waves as it walks. Even when it stands still, it
appears to be moving, swishing, and rolling. Suddenly, it is adjacent to her, speaking in an incomprehensible
language but in a kindly, gentle manner. She senses it is no threat to her safety. She could not recognize its
speech, and it could not recognize hers. “My name is Edith Fellowes. Is this Earth?” Not really sure why she
asks that. As soon as she asks it, on the word ‘Earth’ it sloshes back into the water and fades away. It is
sloshy; it is made of water and looks like a part of the sea, yet also not. Edith starts to cry; as the only
explanation left is that she is dead. Thinking she must have fallen off the chair, hit her head, and died. “My
poor parents, my brother, my sister, my boyfriend,” she sobs and sobs. “I do not want to be dead. What
creature will I turn into? Will I be like sloshy and become part of the sea? I do not want to be that. I want to
go home,” Edith is sobbing until she could scarcely breathe. Her Sister Annabella is very close to her, and
they share a bedroom at home. Annabella is two years older than her. They are more than sisters; they are also
best friends. The thought of how upset her sister must be after finding out that she is dead. Poor Mum and
Dad have to tell her brother James, aged twenty-two, who serves in the British Army and is home on leave.
Edith wonders which family member went into the garden and found her there probably mum, as she gets
home first. “I have arranged to go to the cinema with my boyfriend Frankie tomorrow,” so many
considerations are swirling around at top rapidity in Edith’s head. Her mum Greta is a part-time teacher at a
secondary school, and her dad Phillip is an undertaker. “Oh my, will my dad have to organize my funeral
himself?” she visualizes her loving dad writing her funeral service and obituary. She has often watched him
sitting with the utmost respect; penning services for families of deceased loved ones. “Is this retribution? Did
I do something amiss? Can I undo it somehow? I just want to go home. I will not do anything incorrect ever
again,” Edith cries out loud. Looking around for help, but none arises. Then, frozen in fear, she sees the
sloshy thing appearing once again from the sea. This time a completely different looking creature
accompanies it on the dry land. With a head, arms, and legs. Similar to human form! Yet so unlike a human
form! It appears to be more solid looking than sloshy and much shorter and plumper. “I am not good with
estimating measurements, but if I have to, I guess it is approximately three feet tall and possibly just as round.
It seems to be made from scrolls, old books, documents, and maps in a hard to explain way. They appear like
he is covered from head to toe with tattoos, yet they are not tattoo’s they are its skin. It does not rustle as it
moves, as you would expect someone covered in paper would do. It moves silently, clumsily,
and with an air the tattooed thingy says something to Edith. She cannot understand it, so the other Sloshy looking thingy
speaks. But Edith cannot understand either of them. She has no clue what they are saying. They speak a
language that she does not understand. Sloshy appears to be egging her to put her fingers in her mouth,
Sloshy is putting its fingers into its own mouth, and Edith thinks it wants her to do it as well. Edith with a
shaky hand put a finger into her mouth. They seem to approve, Sloshy then puts his fingers into the mouth of
the tattooed creature that accompanies it. “Well, absolutely not. No way!” Edith thinks, as she does not agree
to put her fingers into its mouth. As his mouth opens for Sloshy; she notices that its tongue is entirely
covered in words and symbols, and she does not recall seeing any teeth. Oddly none of it, the atmosphere, the
air, the surroundings, or these two creatures give off any bad vibes. All feel calm and friendly, and then a horn
reverberates loudly, and they depart. Edith starts to feel sleepy, “How long have I been here? Am I still dead?
Is this where I stay for eternity?” while thinking and crying, she notices Sloshy, accompanied by the same
creature meandering over towards her once again. Once again, Sloshy put its fingers in the mouth of the other
creature. Edith tries that immature thing that Earth children do, you know, close your eyes and pretend they
cannot see you. Edith tries this several times but to no avail. Feeling sunk, lost, and alone, she stands up
rather teenager tantrum-like and sticks her fingers, kind of irregular and teenager brat like, into its mouth. In
an instant, she understands it. It felt like her fingers had siphoned knowledge from it. She gets to know that
this creature is like a book. Which is what Edith names it ‘Book.’ She does not know if they were supposed to
share knowledge. And if that is so, it has somehow gone wrong, could she now be in danger? Edith has
received knowledge from it, but Book has not received any from her. She could now understand their
language, but they could not understand hers. Her head is full; she thinks she might now know everything
Book knows. Now, what she knows is this: There are eight universes, including the earth. There are species
from six of the universes here on this unknown place transported here against their will by magic. All like
Edith wanting to go home. Now with Edith, it is seven. This is some kind of a sub-universe. Now she is here.
of authority. I think it walks clumsy, as its feet are far too big for its short, rounded body.” As they get nearby,
They represent seven of the eight universes: Maris is the universe from where a female, sloshy like creature,
which is five feet tall, comes from. Her real name is Mizzle. Mizzle can become a part of anything wet, the
sea, puddles or rain, just about anything that comprises of water. She can also create rain and great storms,
including severe floods. Doctus is the universe that Book is from; the three feet tall Books real name is
Astatey. In this universe, the species can choose one day to be female and on another day male. How great is
that? Book is very competent. It knows all of the knowledge from six of the universes. He knows nothing of
Earth and very little of the eighth universe. They do not know its name yet; it is considered ruthless among all
the seven universes. They refer to it as fire. Book is also a shape shifter. “How amazing,” Edith thinks as she
cannot wait to see Book shape shift. Edith from Earth is the third, Edith with no skills, thinks everyone here
will find her very boring. They denote her as a ‘Life Beater’; they put their hands on their chest and say,
“Beater.” This is because here species on Earth are referred to as “life beaters” Edith does not like that
designation thinking they may consider her dangerous. “I do not know where the species organs are located,
but I can only assume their hearts either make an alternative sound or perhaps are located differently in each
species.” Then there are four other universes, none from which Edith has yet encountered the species of. The
fourth is the universe Ergakia, from which the 8 feet tall male named Savant comes from. Savant is a
toolmaker, as is the majority of the species on his planet. They make the most beautiful implements covered
with engravings, mostly for farming. When farmers are needed on the huge planet of Ergakia, to save any
crops from deteriorating, Savant, like all his species, can grow extra extremities to collect the crops quickly.
Edith trying to make sense of this information was wishing her brother James was here; he would know how
to get her home. She was sure of it. Why would Edith need to know about all the planets? After all she hoped
she was going home soon. Ergakia is an untroubled peaceful habitation making remarkable farming tools it
has no reason like the other species to make weapons of war. The fifth is the universe, Wong-Wong. An
individual named Zywie, who is merely twelve inches tall, comes from the universe Wong-Wong. The tiny 12-
inch Zywie is a shaman and maker of medicine. He can also fly, able to quickly search for and find roots and
herbs when necessitated. Zywie can consign his hand anywhere on the body of any living thing and know
where it ails and both heal and communicate with them. The sixth is a universe called Enlil, and from there
comes the male, Fuu. He is six feet tall. Fuu is a teller of the future. He does this by the communication
system they have found, which is to put two fingers on another species’ tongue. This modus operandi came
about by absolute misadventure. Fuu, who had his fingers reluctantly in book’s mouth, discovered it. At the
time he was trying to ascertain where Book’s pain was coming from. As Zywie, the medicine man was out
searching for new herbs. While everyone else was endeavouring tongue touching, and it worked. And all
Because of Book’s ache, before this they had no way to communicate. It does not work wholly on Edith as
she can understand them, but they cannot understand her. Which is frustrating as she wants to talk to them
all, and one of them might know her way home. Fuu comes from a universe of wind and can disappear into a
gust or tornado and reappear at will. He could make a tornado or any kind of windstorm, but being such a
lovely, peaceful fellow never has and sees no future motivation to. And finally, from the universe Harbor
laurel comes a nine-foot-tall male named Thickett. Harbor Laurel is a universe of gigantic trees and plants,
not like any ever seen. The trees and plants grow to an enormous four and five hundred feet tall. So, the
inhabitants are very strong, as is Thickett. He has the physique of the world’s strongest man and would surely
win the contest for it if he ever visited Earth. Not only is Thickett very strong, but he can also merge with all
nature. If Thickett stands beside a tree, all you can see is the tree. He has not become one with the tree, but
he can blend hidden beside it. If Thickett stands beside a rose bush, all you will see is a rose bush. What an
excellent capability, naughty but could be fun snooping on folks. Thickett also has a tail like a whip; it
flourishes out from the top of his spine. On his universe, it is used as a symbol of devotion and greetings.
When Thickett approaches a friend on Harbor Laurel, they both shake their heads vigorously, causing this
whip to entwine with their friends whip, and from it seeps out some kind of jocular healing serum into his
friend, and his friend into him. Trying to be kind when Fuu was unwell and Zywie was again out looking for
herbs, Thickett tried it on Fuu. It made Fuu even sicker! Instead of a healing serum it injected poison into
Fuu. Fuu was paralyzed, and it took all of Zywie’s skills to heal him back to full health. Thickett was very
apologetic and has never tried it since. Zywie keeps an antidote ready in case it ever happen again. So, they
assume it is only a greeting between two of the same species, otherwise, it acts like an enemy has approached
and discharges a poison. Zywie being only twelve inches tall, would love to hide in Thickett’s pocket to see if
any of the vast vegetation on his home planet encompasses healing secrets, of course, that is only if his pocket
is a good way away from his stinger. And it is only a pipe dream, as they believe that even if they could get
home, each of them here would only live for forty-eight hours. They believe there is some scientific rationale
for their metabolisms being away from their natural environment for too long, although they are not yet
certain if that also applies to Edith. Or indeed any of them but just in case they remain dependent on Fuu to
keep manufacturing an antidote, which they all consume on a regular schedule A Bottle of sleeping Elixir
There are eight universes in entirety, the eighth unknown to them, they refer to it as Fire, and It has a ruler
who is thought to be a horrifying and precarious female named Deific. They think she is a bully and
conceivably a sorcerer or witch who does magic to constantly oppress her subjects. Although they do not
know any of this for definite, they recognizably fear her. Unable to infiltrate earth, there were no humans here
until now and certainly none on the universe they refer to as Fire. Yet This subdivision they are ensnared on
is a welcoming enough place, and Edith feels in no danger, although how she got here is cryptic as species
here have ineffectively tried to make communication with Earth copious times and unsuccessful, which is
disappointing as she wants their help to go home. “It is the only thing I will ever ask for,” mutters Edith,
“Will never pester my parents for anything ever again. I just really want to go home.”
English. She indicates to the sky over and over while saying the word ‘sky’ until they absorb the word
completely. She then does the same with every entity here. They are signing whilst saying the English term for
it over and over again. They tussle with the pronunciation of a sundry of words; one is human, which comes
out sounding like ‘who man’. Of course, it lacks so much that Earth has; for example, there is no electricity
here, so darkness is rest time. When a horn blows, an egg-shaped obstacle on stalks come to wherever Edith
is, it’s stalks lower to the ground, and the egg-shape opens, revealing the softest fluffy compound and once
she climbs in it, the stalks raise her up high. It does not have to locate her anymore as she now has a home
that the species here constructed just for her. Small and cozy a little refuge until she finds a way back home.
The horn is not a command to go to bed only an alert that it will presently be dark. The egg-shaped objects
on stalks source a comfortable bedroom. They are situated outside each person’s home and known by the
word ‘Solice’. Edith’s home here is made from plants and trees. It is superbly cozy with furnishings and
changes of clothes and shoes all made for her by her new network of friends. Professor Marlo’s space Helmet
The system they have fashioned works well. There is a Rota glued to a tree that portions out jobs equally
amongst them taking it in turns to explore for food, which is exclusively vegetarian consisting of leaves,
berries, fruits, and nuts. All which grow in abundance here. Meals are salad type dishes, as they have no fire or
electricity here. They are instilled only to take what they need and never the whole plant, just a few leaves
from each. Because of this, the plants continually persist plentiful, and on a very seldom occasion, if there are
surpluses, they are chopped up and dug back into the soil to nurture it. Each day a large tree creakily bends,
making a table. They sit around it and eat together. After their meal, they thank the tree, which slowly raises
itself up into position again. Zywie doing a health check on the group gives each one a good health signal,
until he gets to Edith; once his two fingers rest on her tongue, a commotion begins. A Solice rushes towards
her immediately opens, the others not giving her the possibility to speak, lift her in, at once, Solice closes the
stalks raise her into the air, and she cannot get out. Usually, Solice only closes if asked to, most of the rest
Communications have much developed; unable to learn their language, Edith set about schooling them
times Edith sleeps with it open beneath the stars. As she likes to reason, they are the same stars she shares
with her family back home. After Zywie returns, Edith is administered different remedies for whatsoever
Zywie thinks she ails from, and if completely honest, she does not feel at all unwell. This continues over
several days until Edith encourages book to put his fingers on her tongue. Book does this against all advice.
With group suspicions, book could catch an unidentified disease. Book removes his fingers, observing the
others and says, “homstick”. “No Book, the word is homesick.” On hearing the word sick, they all stand back
a step, not wanting to catch this new illness. “No. Homesickness is not an illness it just means missing home.”
They understand that, As Sloshy repeats, miss home. Solice helps Edith to sit on something, which is similar
to grass, just like on Earth. It is very similar but not. It does not give off the smell of Earth grass that Edith
longs to sit on and smell once more. Edith tries to clarify to everyone that she wants to go home. She no
longer knows the day, month, or year and that the life she loves on Earth is fading from her. She misses and
wants to be with her family; Edith cries, “I miss my pet rabbit named Ears.” With tears running down her
face, she feels Zywie climbing up her cheek, holding a small plant made vial, in which he collects a few
teardrops. Edith smiles; never know they may encompass healing properties. She tells them that she does not
even know if she is still fifteen or now sixteen as she did have a birthday due. Edith’s name should be
catalogued for collecting elements for that day’s food, but it is not on the Rota. With all that which has
transpired, conceivably the Rota is rearranged, or she has got her days muddled. During mealtime, they all sit
around the bowed tree, which is overflowing with abundant fruits and berries more than usual. Thickett paces
over to Edith, saying, “Good sux tine, Edith Fellowes.” “You mean sixteenth,” Edith says. They reason it is
her birthday today. He presents her with a pet not dissimilar to how she had described her pet rabbit’s
appearance. Thickett said, “What are you going to name it” Edith asking is it a boy or a girl, only served to
cause more confusion. Edith settled on the name Whizz, as it seems very whizzy in its rush to help itself to
some of the birthday feast. It was either extra hungry or just greedy and with it joining the meal Edith
understood why the meal was so much bigger than normal. “Thank you so much, all of you. You are the best
friends anyone could have,” she blows each one of them a kiss, unsure what this odd ritual is, but seeing it is a
happy thingamajig one at a time, they blow one back. Edith put her fingers in Books mouth while probing
facts about caring for her gift, Whizz. The knowledge that is conveyed from Book to her is that Whizzes
species are called mammalians. It requires no pacific knowledge as it comes in required forms, and each
behaves contrarily. To Edith, Whizz looks like a rabbit traversed dog, and although it has a lot of rabbit
structures, it definitely behaves like a puppy. Whizz is naughty, funny, inquisitive, and loving. They soon
become best friends, and everywhere Edith is, so is Whizz. He enjoys the game of run around in circles and
howl at Solice descending, but once grounded, he is rapidly in it to snuggle up with Edith for rest time. She
confides in Whizz, revealing to him how much she misses her home, to where Edith aches to return. She
decided they should give this place a name, and together as a group they resolved on the name Hoko7, Hoko,
meaning ‘star’ and with there being seven of them. Life is typically idyllic, and time passes. Edith swims with
Sloshy and surveys the most incredible fish species. She sits with Savant, who she observes crafting tools. She
puts two fingers in the mouth of Book and read books from his extensive library. On one occasion, Zywie
allowed her to stir a mixture he had made to release Thickett, who had by accident glued himself to a tree.
Fuu vanished and rematerialized from a breeze, which was fun to watch. She could never find Thicket during
a game of hide and seek as he intermingled into anything he chose. Although once she did fool him by
hollering, “help! Thickett help!” Thicket reappeared instantly, and she laughed, saying, “got ya!” Once, she
upset them during mealtime by saying how much fun swimming with Sloshy and the fish were, and that they
ate fish on Earth. They did not like the fact that life-beaters consume living creatures and grasped Whizz from
her arms. She declared to them that she would not eat Whizz, fish or any living creature on Hoko7.
At last, are you a life beater? A humanoid species?” “Yes, I am. Where am I? How did I get here? Why am I
in chains?” “All will be divulged,” articulates a most handsome woman, with long dark hair and glass green
eyes. “Now you must repose,” walking towards the guarded exit, she turned, pointed her finger at James,
saying, “rest.” And he fell asleep. When he wakes up, he observes he is not the only one in chains; next to
him, also shackled, is a woman. “Where am I?” The woman responds, “You are on a universe termed
Intrare.” “How long have I been asleep?” “Awhile,” she replies. Just then, the beautiful woman returns, “You
are rested?” she asks. Not giving James a chance to reply, she says, “good.” “What is your name?” And he
politely replies, “My name is James Fellowes.” “Pleased to encounter you, James Fellowes. My name is Deific.
I am the ruler of this universe and have been waiting countless years to bring a life-beater here. Where is the
other one?” “I do not know,” replies James, “I think it is just me.” “Do not lie to me, James Fellowes.” “I am
not,” says James, “I was just about to open the back garden gate of my parent’s home, and next minute I am
here.” Deific senses she transported two from Earth, but uncertain of this fact she does not continue to
question. “Do not harm him,” says the chained woman. “Shut up, mother,” sneers Deific. “You have chained
your own mother?” asks James. “I have no use for her, and as for you, there is no discharge from Intrare, but
after I have finished with my questions, I will unchain you.” Once again, she exits, James thinks the same as
his sister Edith, “There is no endangerment, and although everything was dank and he was chained he did not
feel in peril. It is only a dream,” he thought, “I will be awake soon.” Prison Manacles James logics just as
Edith had, I was about to unfasten the garden gate of his parents’ house. Did I fall? Had there been an
explosion of some kind? Both, James and Edith are unaware that Hoko7 is much closer to the universe of
Intrare. In fact, it is a prison within the universe Intrare. Deific allows this prison to appear as a beautiful
universe as she requires it willing inhabitants in order to carry out her plan. She will, in the future, imprison
James Fellowes there also, which means that she will then have one species from each universe.
She is totally keeping an eye on the other species, but her powers are limited to trace a human’s existence or locations. Deific’s
ambition is to question him and then set him free on Intrare, where he will experience how hard-hitting life is
for those she rules over. Then imprison him on Hoko7, where life is idyllic, she can barter with him for what
she needs. then subject him to a lifetime on Intrare. She knows for her plan to work, all seven species must
help cooperatively, for if anything is taken by force; the plan will fail. She decides that once unchained, she
will have him monitored everywhere by a guard and that way, she can keep a trace on him. Kellie, one of the
female guards, has been tasked with doing so. Deific, not having the ability to put fingers in his mouth and
find out his knowledge, has to question James for days, who willingly tells about his family and that he is a
soldier in the army, where he is a trainee pilot. His hobbies include chess, computer games and reading. Once
she unchains James from the walls of a guarded chamber, Deific chains James again, this time to her guard
Kellie. A metal clasp is put on James’ wrist, Deific says, “Close,” and it closes, attached is a three feet chain
with an additional clasp. This clasp is attached to Kellie’s wrist and, on Deific’s command, closes. With a look
that strikes fear, she says to Kellie, “I command you, do not let this human beater more than three feet away
from you.” For Deific knows any more than three feet, and she will not be able to see James. Kellie leads
James out into the stark and miserable reality of life on Intrare. Its inhabitants are working hard to build an
innovative temple for Deific, as she thinks she is far too important to live in the existing one. The guards treat
the workers appallingly and are very punishing. It is everyone’s responsibility to survive; they forage for edible
shoots amongst poisonous growths. Kellie points plants out to James, such as Spicant, Nobilis, and garlic,
Ginseng, Monkhood and Digitalis, which is difficult as If anytime, she cannot see him, she yanks his chain
adjacent to her. Kellie says to James, “You must unearth your own food, so, you have to absorb quickly, or
else, you will die from eating poisonous ones. You sleep wherever there is an empty piece of ground, not too
close to a bush in event a snake hides there. These snakes are numerous in number and known by the name
Nahas they will kill you. If you see Deific approaching, you must stand and do not think of trying anything
unaware of Edith’s existence. Edith unlike the other species, the human will be impossible to trace. She can
because as long as you are chained to me, Deific can see you and believe me, you do not want to irate her.
James being intelligent man, instead of trying to abscond, does quite the contrary and each day engage
enthusiastically in Kellie’s orders. He is humble hearted, thoughtful and generous, continually tendering Kellie
the beneficial ground to sleep on. In turn, although Kellie will not disobey Deific, she is getting to like James.
Deific can see but not hear them. Kellie becomes less afraid of telling James more about Intrare. Kellie felt
relieve by James gently moving the chain as they walked, it was as if he realised she needed assurance he was
still attached. Deific is the solitary daughter to Queen Alma, who has reigned here for centuries and is now in
chains. Deific has been furnished everything she has asked for; spoilt without degree but Deific wants to be
Queen and does not know her mother’s lifespan. She has already reigned for centuries and could for countless
more. Deific has no intention of delaying to discover this but adequately wants to take the crown now.
Meanwhile, back in Hoko7, life remains idyllic, the land is vast, but the group has on no occasion wandered
out of earshot of the horn in case, they are necessitated. Edith is curious to explore and requests permission
from the group to travel further out than any of them have done before. After much debate, it is decided they
should all go together as each has different attributes if needed. Zywie who is zealous to explore further out is
ready in a flash, holding a bag with medicines they may need. Once all prepared, the group set off. Thickett
being nine feet tall can see ahead and report’s no jeopardies, saying it was as beautiful as the area they have
just left. The group travel carefully making certain they do not trample on living things. After walking and
resting for days, we walk through an opening between the trees and there before them is a vast and exquisite
waterfall. In a heartbeat, Sloshy was in it, part of it, swirling around, diving and disappearing from view in a
cascade of water. It is even more beautiful than the area we live in. Zywie, who has the ability to fly, decides
to do so, scanning from above, he can see what else is here before they decide to rest. He gives hand signals
to follow him, and without query, they all do so. There, among some bushes, with an extremely injured leg,
lay a species face down. Thicket gently turns it over, and while doing so, Edith falls to the ground, “I know
him,” she says “, He is our postman, Ted.” He is too weak to talk and unable to stand. Savant asks a tree to
bend just as we do at mealtimes. The tree kindly obliges and taking much care, Savant and Book gently raise
Ted onto it. “Is he going to die?” cries Edith, as she is vexed. She just wants to see Ted healthy again. “No,”
said Zywie “I will heal him,” this makes Edith calm. Nature permits them to sleep in nearby Solice’s while
Zywie stays with Ted during rest time. He mixes up a compound and wraps it around Ted’s injured leg while
giving him two potions to drink, one of a palliate mixture, the other to assist him in sleeping while this healing
takes place. “Edith, can you tell us about Ted?” Book put his two fingers on Edith’s tongue. She starts to say,
“Ted is the village postman while saving up to… hmm….” Edith wants to say the word ‘university’, which
means going somewhere to learn more, but does not how to explain it to them, as they are unaware of this
concept. After thinking it through, Edith continues, “Ted is nineteen or twenty, I think. He wants to study
mechanical engineering. In his spare time, he races in stock car races.” The alliance does not understand. They
are not able to comprehend words such as the village, postman, mechanical engineering, university or stock
car. “Oh, never mind,” says Edith “I will explain later all that matters is he is a good guy. He is a friend of my
brother James, and while out distributing letters, he often pops in to say hello.” Just then, with the brashest
uproar you can imagine, the waterfall crashes, bangs and floods the land as it moves. Thickett holds Ted
above his head to stop him from being conducted away by the torrent. Zywie flies up high to ascertain which
direction they should flee in, while Fuu creates a robust wind that blows some of the water in the other
direction, then calls to the others to pass quickly in the direction Zywie is pointing, reluctant to leave Fuu,
they do so. Thankfully it is a short-lived disaster incurring no injuries. Then without explanation, the waterfall
shifts back into its original location, and all was serene, well, almost. Savant suggests that they should return
back to the area they have journeyed from. Edith shouts, “I will not. What if anyone else is here? We cannot
just abandon them.” Edith is right, but they cannot stay here and put their lives in danger as well. They have
to come up with a prompt plan. Against Edith’s argument, it is decided that they will return to their original
place, wait until Ted is well, and see if there is anything he can tell us and then plan our search parties
accordingly. Once safely back, all Ted could recall is that he was stood down the back lane, beside the back
gate of Edith’s parents’ house, talking to her brother James, next thing he knew, he was here
“Very good,” sneers Deific, who wants to see if they can work together as a team. The waterfall assessment is
a great success. Speaking aloud, “I will, of course, be sending you more.” The prison waterfall was built
around a metal framework, making it easy for Deific to move. All Deific have to do is close her eyes which
change colour several times from a striking green to a striking blue, to green again then blue again, and think
of Hoko7. When doing so, she can see them clearly, except for the humans. Not wanting to harm them, well,
not just yet, she has set many tests after the waterfall one. Working them together as a team both pleases and
impresses her. It was almost time to imprison James, and then her plot could be completed. James, still
chained to Kellie, is looking worn out and broken, he has submitted to his life on Intrare and caused no
issues. Deific is trying to decide between imprisoning him on Hoko7 with Kellie chained or unchained.
Chained, she will be able to keep inspections on him but thee others may not trust him. Unchained she would
lose sight of him, plus he might become rebellious. Meanwhile, James is working hard by harvesting and
storing the crops in a chamber next to where Deific’s mother, Queen Alma, is captured and chained. He can
hear Queen Alma pleading for a drink. James beseeches Kellie by drawing her to the well, then over to the
chamber where Queen Alma is. Kellie realizes and allows him to make her a drink. They are unaware of the
fact that Deific is immersed in thinking through her next test for Hoko7, and with her being distracted
they sips, “Come closer,” she said. James tries, but Kellie says, “Haste! We must go now,” and drew him back
outside. Although Deific considers herself more powerful than anyone else, she is not; she is just more
cunning and greedy. Centuries ago, when Queen Alma was immature and undeveloped and very much like
her daughter, in her greed; she also wanted to rule all the planets. She set about reading old books of magic
and spells; one of them contained an ancient ritual on how to triumph with this plan, but some of the words
we’re missing in it. Queen Alma set about this revelation at once, permeating in the missing words with what
she assumed should be there. Her efforts did not work, and instead of gaining power, she lost it. Her
concoction created a massive explosion spreading across all universes. Many of her powers disappeared and
left a more humbling life. Forevermore, she must grow and each day swallow the succulent liquid from a
plant known as ‘Dendron-Albo-Thai’ or have no powers at all. All females born on Intrare have the same
powers but need the juice from the Dendron-Alba-Thai plant to retain them. But Queen Alma commanded
that Dendron-Alba-Thai be grown only inside the castle and proclaimed a law that it was only for royalty. The
supremacies of all females, apart from royalty, sleep dormant inside them and will only awaken with a sip of
liquid from the plant. Until chained Each day, Queen Alma incisions off a slice of the plant and swallows its
foul juice. Once her beautiful daughter, Deific, was born, she administers some to her as well. Although, her
vast array of powers is now limited as is her daughter’s. She is still able to see her subjects wherever she is by
blinking her eyes until they flash alternate blue and green. She has ability to command anything metal to
submit to her and she is able to teleport herself and others. These are the restricted powers Queen Alma has
passed down to her much doted upon daughter, Deific. Who could do nothing wrong in the eyes of Queen
Alma. Alma ruled for centuries, becoming wiser and kinder, realizing it was wrong to overthrow other
universes and much wiser to settle for governing her own, which she did with boundless wisdom. Deific, now
desiring to rule, teleported the plant to where her mother Queen Alma is powerless to locate it. Within days,
Queen Alma had lost her powers and Deific had overpowered her, commanding metal chains to clutch her.
are safe to help Queen Alma. James sustained a drink of water to Queen Alma’s mouth. After taking a few
Maris is the universe that Mizzle, who is affectionately nicknamed Sloshy, from. Maris is a measureless and
stunning universe. It consists of huge lakes but also has considerable dry areas of land. The Maristan species
can live both in the sea and on land but do necessitate to go swimming frequently. Most prefer to apply their
time in the water and choose to live in it. They principally eat a variety of seaweed known to them as Dulce,
which sustains them; they can also ingest plants flourishing from the ground. Sloshy was relishing diving in an
expanse of water, which they named “The Firmament Sea, which is by far the biggest sea on Maris. When she
found herself on Intrare, the quandary on which she landed was far from water, and Sloshy critically suffered,
almost dying. As she could not walk, all her skin was dehydrated and started diminishing from her. While she
crawled along, she happened to meet Zywie. Zywie, only 12 inches high, knew straight away that she must be
immersed in water to survive but was inept to convey her. He flew back to get Thickett, and Sloshy was
immersed in water seconds from dying. Thickett and Zywie had landed on the same setting on Intrare, but
this is another story. From then on, the three of them, with no comprehension of each other’s tongue, resided
together. They constructed a home for each of themselves by the water where Sloshy could survive, as all the
abilities of her species are coupled to water. At first, like each of them, she longed for home. She missed her
friends, her home, and her family. But as time lapsed as time does, it might have been centuries, but who
knows? Sloshy recalled less and less of home and became contented to live alongside Zywie and Thickett. The
two of them would often sit mesmerized, watching Sloshy in the water. It really was something to see. She
can also be converted into part of the sea and deployed through the waves with such grace, but they could
still see her. Will Sloshy ever get home?
Ergakia is the universe where Savant was removed. Ergakia is one of the principal universes; it accommodates
as many rocks as it can accommodate plants and crops. It is not as beautiful to the eye as other universes due
to the grey density of masses of rock formations. The inhabitants live peacefully in caves. Savant is the one
who, by crafting tools and seeing how metal sparks has learnt a little about fire but cannot yet make it.
Ergakia is a vegetarian planet, the wildlife in this universe lives happily alongside them and living creatures are
not eaten. The Ergakian’s consist mainly of four working groups: tool making, crop farming, homemaking,
and metal excavation skills. They excel at all of these activities. They willingly help with each 149other’s
workload capacity if required. The species can even grow extra limbs during the harshest torrents to collect
and store their crops safely. Savant is a master toolmaker and is much esteemed for his knowledge. The
enormous crop-growing pastures consist of Emmer Wheat, Hulled Barley, Bitter Vetch, Flax, and many
more. Because the winters on Ergakia are so harsh, the toolmakers work all seasons to make and hone crop-
cutting tools. The homemakers look after the children and make the most amazing outfits from plant-based
materials. The metal excavators dig for and break rocks suitable for the toolmakers’ needs. This universe
functions in harmony. It was while the eight-foot-tall Savant was sharpening a tool, he was sitting and
admiring the view in front of him, then abruptly, landed on Intrare. He was courageous, and he kept
searching for a route home. Then, after a lot of struggle, he chanced upon Sloshy, Zywie, and Thickett. With
a weapon still in his hand, for the first stage in his life, Savant sensed threatened and defensive. At first, he did
not join the group. He rested in the vicinity and observed them. After some time had passed; Savant saw
Thickett plummet over an entangled cluster of uprooted tree roots. Without a thought, Savant rushed to
assist. He sat alongside Thickett whilst Zywie focused on him, and from then on Savant became part of the
four misplaced species confined collectively in a beautiful but alien environment.
Doctus is the universe that Astatey is from, who is nicknamed Book by Edith because of his appearance.
Book’s skin is completely designed in words and symbols. He is stunted, stout, clumsy, and yet very
knowledgeable. The species’ homeland is well suited for those with large feet that do not always coordinate
well, and that is why there are many large-level pathways all over Doctus. Doctusians who are hermaphrodites
can choose to be either male or female at any time; Book has always elected to be male. The species are also
shape shifters and can balance in quickly to the environmental circumstances around them. They are a short
species, Book, being one of the loftiest at three feet; consequently, there is nothing over the pinnacle of five
feet on Doctus, including their homes, vegetation, crops, and trees. Large hairy Catepelose looking similar to
a caterpillar are found in certain areas on Doctus. When they moult, there is an abundance of the silkiest of
hair, which can make blankets and clothes once collected. The Catepelose has a short life span before
embodying itself in the most delicate silk cocoons to hibernate before a pupa stage. There was once a
transformation into a creature named Janetta, looking much like a butterfly but larger. The Janetta’s
beautifully coloured four wings are durable, long-lasting materials, which renew themselves only twice during
a Janetta’s life. Given Janetta’s live for many years, a discarded wing is a much-prized element when found.
Until taken to Intrare, Books job was to transfer ancient scrolls onto new parchment to secure knowledge for
future generations. Children on Doctus are born without knowledge they play and read books and absorb
information until the age of twelve years, where upon all that they have read becomes part of them, at a
ceremony held for them on their 12th birthday they swallow a serum made from special parchment and that
very night while asleep their skin changes into information and they start to look like thee adults, additional
information is given to them until the age of fifteen years and their childhood is absolute, all information
secured up to and after that becomes part of them. The ceremony embraces the entire village and lasts
for central diet is a pulp-centred paper mixture made from rice, hemp, and bamboo, furthermore, a Xuan style
paper made from mulberries mixed with finely chopped herbs and plants to achieve the full nutrients. Also, as
like the other universes, they are peaceful and go about their tasks happily. Tasks such as transferring the
scrolls, homemakers, farmers, and papermakers they have two main subdivisions: 1. Making the parchment
for the scrolls 2. Those who make the paper mixture-based meals, which are a colossal part of the children’s
coming of age Ceremonies. The Doctusians are a jovial species and like to have amusement and play pranks.
It is these qualities that make Book Edith’s favourite species out of all of them. Book was eagerly awaiting to
taste a new edible paper mixture that was being stirred and smelt oh so very good. A feast was going to take
place to unveil it; unsurprisingly, it had been on Books mind all that day. He could smell it in the air, and his
anticipation for it was overwhelming. The next thing he knew, he was upside down and most disadvantaged
hanging from a tree on Intrare, thankfully it was not a tall tree, although his large feet hit several snags on the
way down. Walking along, feeling somewhat battered from his fall, he came upon Sloshy, Zywie, Savant, and
Thickett. He promptly hid, disguising himself beside a tree. He was oblivious to the fact that Thickett was just
about to request that same tree to curve so they could rest and eat. That was that, how the four had now
become five.
Wong-Wong is the modest of the universes and is the home of Zywie, an expert of medicines; he knows the
healing properties of every plant. Just 12 inches high, an opinionated, stubborn chap, precisely festooned and
sometimes overly obsessive about his hair, which he likes efficiently combed at all times, he attains wax from
Melisseus bee hives in order to hold his hair precisely in place. Melisseus bees look very much like Earth bee’s
they protect their hives and like all other bee’s they sting. Wong-Wong species can lay one of their tiny seven
three days of dancing and entertaining activities. The parchment is made from the Cyperus Papyrus. Their
fingered hands on any living organic thing to detect illness. Their wings that crease tightly down and remain
unseen for the most part means they can fly, which is an amazingly miraculous to see. On Wong-Wong,
oodles of fireflies light up the sky during darkness. The Wongthians often join in making the most incredible
patterns with them across the night sky. Everything on Wong-Wong is like a miniature metropolis to us, and
we like giants to them. They have a sacred animal known as an Archelon, it is similar to a tortoise, but it is
Giant. The Archelon, contrasting to a tortoise with an oval shell, has more of a square type one, which it
regularly sheds for a new one. These shells are the homes of the Wongthians, too gigantic for them to carry
anything in it. A home is set up wherever a shell is discovered. Given the inhabitants’ size, the shells are
spacious and comfortable. Zywie’s shell has been painted with bright plant-based colours from the outside,
which is easy to recognize as a shamans abode. These shamans are on call all hours, so Zywie siestas when he
gets an opportunity. He has worked hard on the inside of his shell by putting up shelves that are chock-full of
the plant-made vials of healing potions. Wong-Wong is carpeted with too many plant species to list. They
incorporate Iris, Aprus, Mantia, and Saffron, so the inhabitants appreciate a healthy vegetarian diet. Although
they live typically in harmony, Wongthians are feisty and positively not shy to speak out. Unlike the other
universes, so far Wong-Wong has, what we would call a government. A diplomatic presiding body voted in.
With no currency, they live well by bartering with Neighbouring settlements. Zywie was abstracting some
herbs that he had handpicked to his neighbour to exchange them for a duo of berries from a bush his
neighbour had managed to cross-pollinate. He was secretly a little jealous of his neighbours success and was
muttering his discontent when he landed on top of Thickett on Intrare.
The six-foot-tall Fuu is a fortune-teller from the universe Enlil. Like all his species, he can style and control
the wind. He can inhale swiftly making himself into balloon form and create from tornadoes into a gentle
refreshing breeze. The body form of his species looks remarkably human and strides on terra firma. It is only
when they inhale, they take out their wings and glide gracefully through the atmosphere. They glissade
through the skies almost like they have no bodies but, surely, they do. A lot of the lone males, including Fuu,
do this to flaunt the females. For Fuu, it is one particular female named Drift who he has become very fond
of. The species have much larger lungs than humans, meaning their chest area is somewhat larger than their
bottom halves. But not to a gradation that makes them look awkward. If they sense they are under attack,
they have a fight or flight ability to depart in the wind completely. Being a sociable race, they interact with
each other peacefully. Their nutrition is of many varieties of brightly coloured Hebe and Ivy, which grow
freely amongst ample moss patches. The universe has no ruler as such the four village-like districts: Pambre,
Dodro, Vedra, and Muxia. They hold intermittent meetings while in betwixt frolicking about in the air and
discuss their own village matters which are very few with each other. Adjacent to each village lay an expanse
of water encompassing millions of tiny flagellates, a plant-based matter that, when dark gives off shadowy
glow, it is like nature’s most beautiful night light. Trees are rooted to grow instinctively in circle patches. Their
highest branches thickly intertwine with each other making an impenetrable rooftop. The inhabitants make
and fix wicker fences around the tree trunks, leaving an opening, and these make homes where they live in
harmony. From wood and other materials obtainable to them, they make unsophisticated and out-of-tune
musical instruments, which they take with them to the skies and, while swirling around, make quite loud
racket. Singing a tune can be pleasant, but when groups of Enlilist take flight with them, it really is an ear-
piercing din. Fuu, who lives in the area of Pambre, was renovating a wicker fence when in an instant he
disembarked on Intrare. Quick thinking, he disappeared into the wind and, after invisibly watching the group
for some time, joined them to inquire why he was there, which was not possible yet as they could not
understand each other’s language. As they were the only living beings he had come across, he resolved to stay,
knowing he could quickly disappear into the wind in a split second if he needed to vacate.
With a stinger on the back of his neck, the nine feet tall Thickett is somewhat a presence. He lives in a forest-
like universe made of monumental trees, which specifically form numerous mazes. His Goliath stature and
the clothes he wears, which are all made from the plants and trees around them, blend in with his
surroundings. Although his skin is a gentle bark-like hue, which also aids. The male laurelians are a race of
great strength; the females, although both shorter and weaker, are the spearheads of each maze-like domain.
There is a female in each maze reasonably similar to a mayor known by Seneschals. They are not elected but
warrant their position by the respect due to age and knowledge. Laurelians are life companions, and Thickett
is the only one taken from family life; he leaves behind his wife Biome and young daughter Joi. The marriage
or joining ceremony comprises a big banquet where the Seneschals present the couple with a tapestry made
by the residents; each one has done at least one thread of it. The species indulge on various seeds and fruit
from briars like Rosa, Rubis, and Smilax. Their currency system is named Obolis, coins made from plant-
based resins that make them unique from Earth. They are the only other universe except Earth to use a
monetary system. Each area has a bank, which is situated in the Centre of each maze. The bankers who are
well respected check up on the production and stamp each coin according to its size. Unlike contemporary
countries with monetary systems, the Laurelians are not at all covetous for wealth; everything around them
grows freely, which satisfies their needs entirely. The Obolis are mainly used to procure things that cannot be
foraged around them; tapestries, clothes, and crafts, those sorts of things. Thickett is an expert in
woodcarving. That is why he is never short of an Obolis. His wife, Biome daubs the carvings intricately with
plant-based paints. Thickett was carving a mixing bowl as he was sitting contently engraving little
miniature landed with a thwack on Intrare with a feisty Zywie on him. That almost finalizes the group
The day before had been the third anniversary of the disappearance of Edith, James, and Ted. On the first
anniversary, a year after their disappearance, a vigil had been held, along with a bench dedicated to them and
their lives with their names on a brass sign, which had been erected in the park. It was a huge turnout with
hundreds of people attending it, wearing tee shirts with the three missing faces printed on them. Lots of all-
consuming candles flickered in the growing dimness of dusk while friends and family made speeches. The
event received some attention from the local news channel and newspaper, which requested the public to
come forward if they knew anything regarding the unsolved disappearances. The second anniversary had been
much reduced. Perhaps eighty folks showed up as attendees. And the day before has been the third
anniversary. Well, indeed, it was quite pitiful, housing probably about fifteen people. The good thing is that, in
reality, at least Edith, James, and Ted are not dead. The bad thing is no one on earth knew that. Edith’s sister,
Annabella is now married to a greengrocer named Ron, and they had twin girls named Edith and Emma.
Edith’s boyfriend, Frankie, is also married to a friend of Edith’s named Grace, and they also have a baby
daughter. Edith, James, and Ted’s parents meet methodically over this period of time and have become good
friends. While all of Edith, James, and Ted’s effects have been lovingly packed into storage chests, a few
pictures linger of them adorning their families’ walls, but most have resigned themselves to never seeing the
three ever again
trees around to form a pattern around the outside of the bowl. Then suddenly, being a rather big chap, he
Now I expect you to speculate who is recording this material in written form. Well, it is I, Curranz Clutter. I
live alone travelling space, halting on my journey at each of the eight universes, without the occupants being
aware, stocking up on provisions. Until Centuries bygone, when Queen Alma of Intrare set about a very
unstable experiment, in her attempt to rule all universes! The detonation was perceived far and wide, blowing
fumes, which blackened the skies across all eight universes. On the universe of Enlil, out of sight, while
collecting supplies, I got caught up in the explosion and blown into parts, mostly all my important bits landed
on the Ninth universe Unseyn, which the other eight universes do not know about the existence of. An
eccentric professor named Marlo discovered most of my parts and re-attached me back together, sixty percent
original space traveller and forty percent Professor Marlo’s, “whatever was lying about.” I have lived on
Unseyn ever since. Curranz Clutters Arm I work for Professor Marlo in his laboratory, which is a large glass
dome, and my job is to observe the other eight universes and document their proceedings. Through the
watching machine the Professor invented, I can see everything going on in all eight universes. He is a good
boss, far too engaged for doing the watching, as all day he is busy fiddling about with his space findings, going
about saying, “oh my,” or “This is useful.” A Section of Professor Marlo’s watching machine There are more
powers here on the universe of Unseyn than all the other universes put together. But Professor Marlo has no
wish for power. In a three-piece tartan suit with scruffy hair, he goes about his scientific business; he has a
brilliant mind and is curious to fix fragmented things. At the end of each day, I report my findings to him;
until now, seven of the universes have been mundane, the inhabitants of each going about their daily tasks,
collecting food, eating, sleeping, and so on: the usual meagre yet essential tasks of maintaining and sustaining
survival. On sharing the news of what Deific is up to on universe eight, the poor Professor picked up the
mistaken drink and swallowed fixing oil instead of Sumac, thankfully it caused him no distress, which is his
favourite drink. Sumac is much like sour mango to taste; it is one of the Professor’s prize cross-pollination
plants. “This must be immobilized,” he splutters. Pacing up and down “Let me see! No, you keep watching!
No, I had better take a look!” He spurts out, “Well she must be stopped. Hmm, let me think! Oh, her mother
made such a boom when she tried it and cracked this dome. There! Look, over there!” I could see a long
crack all jagged and web-like. Pass me a bag, Curranz. I must travel and consult the out comers! OH, dear!
Oh, dear! I cannot remember the cipher to open the cave! I do not know if they are still alive!” “Who are
they?” I ask. “Not now, Curranz,” replies the Professor while telling me anyway. “There used to be six of
them, very old, older than the centuries, they have books and scrolls I 161need to read.” “What do they look
like?” “Not now, Curranz! They look like skeletons. “Skeletons?” I ask. “Not now, Curranz. Yes, well, the
skeleton from the waist down, and like us from waist up.” “Now stop chattering, Curranz, pass me my bag.”
Leaving in a spacesuit with a helmet for less than a minute, the Professor returns, “Curranz, listen carefully.
Look, here on my bureau, at this big blue button, If Deific completes her plan before my return, PRESS IT!
This is how we will persist; the button will release a shield that protects us. It is very important, Curranz. Do
not overlook.” As if I would overlook the button that could save my life. “Do not worry, Professor. I won’t.”
Three days later, Professor Marlo returns, “It is no good, they are all gone.” “Who? Are the outcomers
gone?” “Yes, Curranz. They once had exhaustive bodies until Queen Alma’s experiment. I beseeched them to
live in the dome with me. A dome is a safe abode, Curranz; you must under no circumstances venture out. At
first, their feet became skeletal, then it leisurely, crept up to their legs. I have searched and searched
unsuccessfully for a cure. Not finding one, this phenomenon eats slowly up their bodies. The last time I saw
them, it was waist high but seemed to have stabilized,” stopping for a tankard of Sumac, the Professor,
continues, “All gone. They are all gone, tut and tut again what to do? Well, one thing is for certain; we must
intrude on this plan! Deific must be stopped. Watch her every move, Curranz.”
“Quick, Curranz, open the airshaft,” mumbles Professor Marlo while positioning on his spacesuit with urgent
haste. Within minutes he is out and back in again, “Close it, Curranz. Close it.” In his arms lay a fragile
female; the gradients of her toes were skeletal, “Pass me a phial of the crystal elixir.” “Look at her hand,
Professor. It is black.” “Cover it, Curranz, with an herbal compression mitt.” The next day this stranger still
suffering from delirium, Professor Marlo examines her and says, “Curranz, I must operate, or she could die.”
“What part of her are you going to operate on?” “I will eradicate the five skeletal toes and her blackened left
appendage. There is no additional option, Curranz. I have located adequate spare parts to replace her missing
units.” After a while of operating on her, the Professor announces, “The operation is a success, Curranz!
Behold we must prepare a post-operation room. You being female must become her friend! Assure her she is
repaired with bits and bobs and doing well.” When she is well, I will question her. Where she is from and how
she got here.“ Who will watch Deific?” “Not now, Curranz! You are youthful, surely you can do both?” After
two weeks of recuperation, Kellie has become well, thinking she could help with a deluge of words; she has
not stopped talking until she has told us all that she knows. Which isn’t anything we didn’t know already from
the watching machine. Deific’s eyes flashed brighter than they had ever before, at quick speed between blue
and green. She had consumed a dangerous amount of her daily medications. There was a large explosion,
things were hurled far into the atmosphere including Kellie. Objects and some inhabitants floating helplessly
until landing, well who knows where. Yawning, as it is way past the Professor’s bedtime, he stands up from
his chair with a big stretch, and with a few body giggles, he paces back and forth. “Hmm… what to do? I can
think better after I sleep.” He pauses at the door and says, “I bid you goodnight, ladies.” Kellie forgets her
troubles for a short while as we laugh together and tell each other tales about our lives, and all is good. We
have become good friends. We wake up at sunrise; “Professor,” Kellie repeats his name three times, or
possibly four. “Not now, Curranz,” “Professor, do you have the plant dendron-Albo growing anywhere years
from now, over in the north, but the journey is too far, we would all be skeletons. No, you will not be
going out. Anyhow, there is plenty of food inside.” The Professor turns around. “Really?” he 163puffs, “Not
now, Curranz.” “Professor, it is I, Kellie. Can you grow Dendron-Alba?” “Not without a plant or some seeds!
I do have an old arid seed collection, which I revitalize with a potion if I need one of them. Is Dendron-Alba
your stable diet? Are you homesick? I have a potion for homesickness. I will go find it pause here. ”When he
returns, Kellie explains to him the importance of the plant and that with her power, she can control and send
back James and the rest of the group to their homes. On hearing this, Professor Marlo became somewhat
perturbed, “I will not hear of it, you lost five of your toes and part of your leg when you went out for a short
while, it is not possible, I will not allow it, you must stay inside the dome.” He turns to myself, “Curranz, I
need a tankard of Sumac, my nerves are flouting.” Professor Marlo sits down at his bureau, fixated by his
work, mumbling that Kellie must still be ailing from delirium. I return to observing Deific and the others.
Deific has destroyed Hoko7; the assemblage of her necessities has not touched down where she has
scheduled them. All her guards are out looking for them. She knows the universe is immense, and this could
take a very long time. Her fury has not dulled her intentions to be supreme leader of all the universes. While
back on Unseyn, Kellie has absconded, taking a compass with her; the Professor can only assume that she is
heading north. “Can this watching machine see her?” “Not now, Curranz! Yes, I fathom it can. Oh dear, oh
dear!” the professor whispers while doing his thinking pacing. “Watch Deific or find Kellie?” “Sumac juice,
Professor?” “Yes, make it a sizeable one,” says the Professor, “She cannot have. Journeyed too far!” ’A
Tankard of Sumac” “Turn the viewing machine for me, please, Professor. I will take a look.” Professor Marlo
unfastens the viewing machine for her and starts drinking his Sumac juice. “Professor, quickly. I can see her!
here?” “Aw, Kellie, tis you! No, you must not leave this dome.” “But, Professor, does it grow here?” “It did,
She is crawling along the surface, just like you said while heading north.” “Let me look! Oh, she is not too far
out. Quick, where is a spacesuit.” In his haste to save Kellie, the Professor forgets to put his space boots on.
Unfortunately, on his return, he amputated two of his own toes and, with great disappointment, just below
Kellie’s knees on both legs. All body parts were substituted with items from his salvage pile. “Sorry! Sorry!”
She repeats to Professor Marlo. “Yeah, try apologizing to my two missing toes. Why did you not listen?” he
says with spluttering confusion in his voice. “I just wanted to assist the others. I know they would help me.” I
butt in, “Professor, the prison has been disbanded, and prisoners are all on Intrare.” Pacing again, “Well, that
is scary information, oh dear! What to do?” Kellie speaks up, “I am fed up, why do we just sit here righteous
and do nothing? How can you let them die?” I direct Kellie into a separate glass room and say to her, “Kellie,
I have been here a long time, and the Professor is a thoughtful, intelligent man. He does a lot of thinking then
actions a plan; it will be ok. Trust him.” “Curranz, can you view Intrare for the others?” Looking back, I
could see Edith, James, Ted, Savant, Book, Zywie, Fuu and Thickett! However, I cannot see Sloshy. “Oh,
hang on, there she is. I think Deific has discovered their location and is securing them one by one. Sloshy is in
the sea; it has a metal armour over it, so she cannot get out.” “Oh no, Professor, Deific has just entrapped
Thickett; he is entombed with metal from toe to neck, with only his head uninhibited.” “She must be trying to
keep them alive for her plan!” says the Professor. Kellie, feeling extremely agitated, screams, “Professor, why
do you sit there messing with that senseless contraption when my friends are being captured? Is there a way
of progressing me back to Intrare?” The Professor disregarding her completely requested that I get him a
catalogue of eight materials from within the dome! The list being;
1. Six Mucuna Seeds 2. A unit of transpicuous crystal power. 3. A density of Pyroxene. 4. One milligram of
Tawny Xanthous. 5. One volume of Unguent. 6. Three cups full of Liquid Elemental-Metal. 7. Exactly four
ounces of Sclerenchyma-Cells, and Two standard units Natrium-Hydrogen. They are clearly discernible in the
storeroom. I have to fetch voluminous unexpected items for the Professor, meaning I know my way around
his storeroom, so it will not take me long to return with them. As I head towards the storeroom, Professor
says, “Not now, Curranz, I need you to fetch me the small silver cylinder from over in that corner.” I scarcely
get the chance to pass it to him, he requests me further, “In the bottom drawer of the chest, quickly fetch me
the two brass cogs.” At that moment, Kellie blusters over and whacks the Professor’s fedora hat clean out of
his head, “I dislike you,” she gushes at him in pure outrage of disapproving emotion, “How could you
observe them all die like this?” I tug her aside, looking at me. She says, “We must over-power the Professor!”
“Why?” I reply back in a somewhat offended voice, “we will not, and even if we do, we do not know how to
save them!” I tell her off, saying, “Kellie, we are squandering time. Please calm down so as I can view the
watching machine.” “Yes! Excellent idea,” retorts the Professor. When all is tranquil, once more, I take a look
at what is going on. “Professor, I am troubled. It is not good news! Book is also bound with magical metal.
Even worse, the three humans who are invisible to Deific are heading straight towards the outer lands of
Intrare.
“Professor, the three humans, Edith, James, and Ted, are almost upon the outlands! I fear they will be noticed
and scoffed by the Podothalmian that live there.” Podothalmian is a species of a giant crab. They are also
meat-eaters, which secure the area, so no one escapes from Deific. Deific remunerates them with the bodies
of her deceased subjects, of which there are many. Once her strategy is executed, she anticipates having her
mother, Queen Alma, taken there. “Professor! Professor! She now has Fuu and Zywie captured and bound
with metal!” Screaming at the pinnacle of my voice, I pitch in once again, “Professor, it is too late, a
Podothalmian has Ted in its huge pincers. Edith and James are desperately striking it with sticks to no avail.”
At that very second, the Professor turns on the machine he has been assembling since I have been here,
everything is calm. The Podothalmian discharges Ted and abandons him to the ground with huge open cuts
and bruises but mercifully alive. Indeed, all Podothalmian’s leave’ they do this one by one. The others are now
unburdened from their incarceration. Kellie kissed the Professor on the head and says, “I love you.” Deific is
powerless now, and Queen Alma unconfined. “What transpires when Deific tries again?” “She cannot,”
sneers Professor Marlo. “My appliance, my beautiful appliance, has worked! It has acquired all the
supremacies from all of the universes and transferred to me.” “What! What does that mean? Answer,
Professor,” insists Kellie. “What it means, my petite inconvenience is that I am the ultimate ruler of all the
universes. All thanks to the giant magnet I just constructed. It has been my life ambition to rule.”
“Professor,” I ask, “Will Edith, James, and Ted get home? Zywie fly? Or Fuu disappear in the wind?” The
Professor interrupts, “No, no, and definitely not all the supremacies from every universe are here.” All the
power is now mine and mine alone. I have been a no one for centuries, now I rule. “But Professor, Sloshy
requires water!” He replies, “Yes, I comprehend that, and there is copiously enough water for her to choose
from!” “What if she attempts to go on dry land?” “Then she will be dehydrated and expire, my dear.” “Oh
Professor, that is tragic!” You can’t let that happen! That night I prod Kellie, whispering, “Are you awake,
Kellie?” I think I should steal his space suit conceivably there is assistance out there which he does not want
us to locate.” I have never known him like this before. “Do you think he did not want me to go north for a
purpose?” “Let’s not exaggerate, Kellie. We need to think about this. I wonder if Queen Alma will try again;
now she has humans in her universe.” “Shh, let’s repose. We will think of a strategy tomorrow.”
Both awaken early. Kellie listens quietly to me, “I have a scheme, I think! Tonight, when Professor Marlo is
slumbering, we will infuse him with a sleeping tonic. Today we will ask him heaps of questions about his
machine, as he is puffed up and proud of his achievement, I am definite he will want to exchange effects but universes.
I know the ingredients for the sleeping tonic recipe, but we need to distinguish what that machine
can do!” “Good morning, Professor!” “Good morning, ladies! A peaceful night, I hope?” “Yes, thank you,
Professor.” “Professor, what are our procedures for the day?” “Chief mission, Curranz is to make a full
flagon of Sumac!” “Professor,” remarks Kellie, “You are so ingenious. What the incredible machine you have
devised. How does it work?” The Professor, so vain and satisfied with himself, eagerly explains his machine,
“Come over to it, Kellie. It is all noticeably evident, as each universe has been coloured coded. It was these
seven controls here that transferred their powers to yours truly.” “What if you wanted to furnish them back
to them?” “Oh, that is very effortless. I just lift up this tailpiece here, and I can interchange powers around to
different universes or give them back and then eradicate them again at will. It is going to be so much
amusement frolicking with all the species.” I hurriedly paced in, saying, “Sumac is prepared,” as I could see
Kellie was starting to misplace her patience. During the day, when a moment is available, I whisper to Kellie,
“Not tonight, we must unearth more about the machine. We will do it tomorrow.” The following day, as
planned, Kellie enquires some more. “Professor, how is your marvellous machine powered?” “When I
venture out in my spacesuit, I gather fossilized remains. I have thousands of them, and when crushed, they
have trivial particles of gas and magneto’s in. I have collected them for years; the secret only crush what is
needed we do not want a gas spillage.” “Will you ever vacate to any of the universes that you now regulate?”
“Oh, of course, I shall, my dear. I have built a small rocket just large enough for one person, that person
being myself.” As Kellie is occupying him, I am in the storeroom formulating a sleeping draft.” I feel
shocked. I cannot believe the Professor’s actions. Why did he do this? I thought we were friends; I am
thoroughly disregarded; he is too engrossed in boasting to Kellie. It is all so much clearer now; he had never
considered me his friend. It has always been, “Curranz, fetch me this, or that! Curranz, make more Sumacs!”
With a cackle, he insinuates we could refer to him as Professor Power from now on. “There he is now!
Curranz, bring me my filament tool paraphernalia.” Bringing to him, I ask, “is Everything ok?” “Not now,
remember to act as normal as you possibly can. We have to save them, to get them home to their own
Curranz. Can you not see I am showcasing my machine to Kellie?” she is very interested in learning unlike
you Curranz. During the Professor’s afternoon nap, Kellie advocates that we leave our scheme for a couple of
days, saying that the Professor is going to permit her to press some of the switches. “Of course,” reluctantly I
agree Indeed, Professor Marlo let her press the buttons. They both chortle as they give and seize powers to
and fro.
“Good morning, did everyone sleep well?” “Not now, Curranz! Fetch us a flagon of Sumac!” says Kellie.
“Excuse me? You heard her?” replies the Professor. “What exuberance Professor Power; can we discharge
the species from place to place like you can exercise their powers?” “No, not yet, my chief assistant Kellie,
although I am busy trying, would you like to help? “Oh, categorically yes.” During the whole day, I fetch and
carry for both the Professor and Kellie’s demands. Thankfully evening was soon upon us, “Professor, I am
going to retire early!” “Ok, Goodnight, Curranz. Oh, Curranz! Replenish our drinks before you go.” I saturate
their drinks with the fiercest of sleeping potions, and soon enough, they both slept soundly. Afterwards,
putting on the Professor’s space outfit, I haul them outside one at a time. Not because my heart is cold but
because I cannot allow them to be so cruel to the other universes. The two bodies rest there on the surface! I
then fortify the dome, and once I take off the spacesuit, I observe them through the glass. I can only assume
when the Professor has extracted all the power from the other universes that he has, in some technique, sped
up the skeletal progression on this one. Before my eyes, the Professor and Kellie are becoming skeletons at a
rapid pace. Anxious and crying as I have no want to injure anyone, I shall miss Professor Marlo. I scrutinized
through Professor Marlo’s bureau drawers, not certain why or what I was surveying for. I uncover within one
of the drawers a formula list for emaciating development; I get to know that the Professor has invented a
suchlike potion that had killed all the inhabitants on this sphere. That it was his invention that had turned
everyone here into a skeletal form when he ventured out in his spacesuit to refurbish provisions, he must
have been distributing this mixture. Why, it makes no sense? Had he for all time been unscrupulous
character? Or did the supremacy he could now controls affect him? What to do now? I could either get in the
Professor’s rocket and space travel as I once did! I would extremely love the possibility of flying the skies
once more. Or do I stay here and explore a technique that triggers this machine to send everyone back to his
or her own universe? I know how to give and take their powers but not how to get them all home. They have
been misplaced now for five years. With Queen Alma ruling once more how will see defend her universe?
How will all the universes react to what has happened and will any other humans be found? Well! All of that
is an additional story. This is Curranz Clutter signing off! TO BECONTINUED…………………
