Being a Sterile Tech or Steril Processing Tech. I clean the OR/theater after the surgeries. Basically, in short, a Sterile Processing technician is an expert on the cleaning, sterilization, and quality of medical instruments.
I dont have any interaction with co-workers since I work alone and a huge majority of the time the surgeons are leaving with the patient or before the patient. so there is no one to talk to. I just walk in glove up put on a mask and get to work.
A sterile technician generally just cleans and sanitizes surgical instruments. but me I do the theater, instruments, and rid of limbs if its a ortho case or some sugery that requires limb removal.
When I am not doing that I'm generally at home preping for the following day with lunch prep, and other things. I am bar hang out type of lady.
If invited then sure.. but since no one hardly speaks to me or me them. then the whole hanging out isnt happening.I know it sounds rude, but I'm not rude I'm more of a keep to myself away from drama and bullshit type of person. so nothing or no one can be blamed on me or stated that I said something.
