Summary

Kalia has never known real freedom. Born into a world that used her, then trapped in a marriage she never wanted, she refuses to belong to Easton, no matter how obsessively he claims her. But the one man who makes her feel safe is the one man she should never want: Jay Kim, her husband’s best friend. Jay never wanted the empire he inherited, but he took control to stop worse men from destroying it. Now, while trying to clean up a kingdom built on blood and corruption, Kalia comes back into his life and becomes the one temptation he cannot resist. Loving her means betraying Easton, his friend and brother in arms, but walking away might be impossible. Easton lost Ariana once, and it broke him. Now he has Kalia, and he refuses to lose again. To him, love is not gentle, it is possession, hunger, and control. If Kalia will not love him willingly, he will make her understand she was always meant to be his. In a world built on loyalty, obsession, and betrayal, one forbidden love could burn everything down.

Introduction

Venom’s Alliance: Loyalty’s Fracture

𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Loyality’s Fracture

Kalia’s POV

Freedom isn’t real. It’s just a pretty lie people tell themselves so they can sleep better at night.

Me? I’ve never been free.

Not when I was born into a world where people used me like a weapon and called it duty. Not when I thought I had finally escaped, only to be dragged back into the same darkness wearing a different face. And sure as hell not now, trapped in a marriage I never wanted with a man who loves me like an addiction: obsessive, toxic, suffocating, and impossible to escape.

Easton swears I belong to him. He says it like a fact, like my name, my body, my future, all of it was written under his before I even had the chance to fight back. He calls me his like I’m something to own, something to keep, something to lock away before anyone else dares to touch me.

But I was never meant to be owned. Not by him. Not by anyone.

And yet, the cruelest part is that my heart doesn’t listen to survival. It doesn’t listen to rules, vows, danger, or common sense. Because I’m craving the one person I can’t have. The one man I should never want.

Jay Kim.

My husband’s best friend. The only man in this ruined world who looks at me like I’m more than a pawn in someone else’s game. He doesn’t see a wife. He doesn’t see property. He sees me. The broken parts, the sharp parts, the parts I learned to hide because they were never safe in anyone else’s hands.

With Jay, I remember how to breathe.

But love in this world doesn’t come clean. It comes with blood, betrayal, and consequences. And choosing Jay wouldn’t just be wrong. It would be dangerous. The kind of mistake that destroys alliances, starts wars, and gets people killed.

Still, every time he looks at me, I wonder if freedom was never a place to run to.

Maybe it was a person.

And maybe mine has always been him.

Jay’s POV

I never wanted this empire.

It belonged to my uncle before me, a kingdom built on blood, corruption, greed, and bodies buried too deep for the world to find. When he fell, I had two choices: take control or let worse men tear apart what was left.

So I took it.

Now I sit on a throne I never asked for, cleaning up a mess I didn’t make while pretending the blood on my hands doesn’t feel heavier every day. I keep the wolves in line. I cut out the rot. I fix what I can, even if fixing it means becoming the kind of man people fear.

Then she came back.

Kalia Gomez.

The only woman who has ever made me want something outside of this life. The only woman who makes this empire feel like a cage instead of a crown. She is everything I shouldn’t touch, everything I should stay away from, because she belongs to another man.

And not just any man.

Easton.

My friend. My brother in arms. A man I once trusted with my life.

I should walk away. I should ignore the way Kalia looks at me when no one else is watching, like she’s begging me to see the truth she can’t say out loud. I should forget the way my pulse turns violent when she’s close, the way every instinct in me screams to take her, protect her, ruin anyone who ever made her feel trapped.

But it’s too late for should.

Because the truth is, I already want her more than I want peace. More than I want loyalty. More than I want the empire I’m trying so hard to rebuild.

And if saving Kalia means becoming the monster everyone already thinks I am, then so be it.

I might be trying to clean up this empire, but for her?

I’d burn the whole thing down.

Easton’s POV

Losing Ariana broke something in me I never learned how to fix.

Then Kalia walked in.

She doesn’t see it yet. She doesn’t understand what she woke up in me, or how dangerous it is to belong to a man who has already lost too much. She thinks this marriage is a prison. She thinks I’m the monster standing between her and freedom.

Maybe she’s right.

But she’s mine.

She was mine the moment she stepped into my world, mine before she knew it, mine before she had the sense to run. I see the way she fights me, the way she looks past me, the way her heart betrays me every time Jay enters the room.

And I hate him for it.

I hate him for seeing her softness. I hate him for making her feel safe. I hate him because he has something from her that should have been mine.

Kalia doesn’t understand yet that love was never meant to be gentle. Not for people like us. Love is hunger. Possession. War. It is the thing you bleed for, kill for, destroy yourself for.

And if she won’t love me the way I need her to, I’ll teach her.

Because I won’t lose again.

Not this time.

Not ever.
