The RUI Archives is a collection of interconnected standalone novellas, each following a new Guardian, a different Beastfolk species, and a unique romance. From gentle giants to sharp-tongued tricksters, apex predators to misunderstood outcasts, every file explores what happens when strangers are forced to share a home-and discover that family, love, and belonging can take many forms. CHOOSING VEYRIX

{INTRO}

The Rift Unity Initiative was created to give Beastfolk a chance at a new life in the human world. For years, RUI has paired Beastfolk with human sponsors in the hope of building a future where both worlds can live together.

Being an orphan and running a struggling bakery was hard enough. Becoming a Guardian was supposed to make a difference. Instead, Clara’s first Beastman sponsorship imploded spectacularly.

Now, she’s somehow agreed to take on one final placement.

A six-foot-something black wolf Beastman with a past full of holes and trust issues the size of the Rift definitely wasn’t part of Clara’s plan. But after this, if things don’t work out, she’s swearing off Guardianship through the Rift Unity Initiative for good.

Veyrix is quiet, stoic, and uncertain. Feared by many and chosen by no one, he’s spent his entire life waiting for a place to belong.

She’s too kind for her own good.

He’s forgotten what kindness feels like.

Together, they might just discover that home isn’t a place-it’s a person.

A wholesome Beast x Human romance filled with found family, slow-burn love, fresh bread, fluffy moments, and just enough emotional damage to keep things interesting.
