"I Chained him up. It's For The Best."
"Alright lets dig in here. Bear in mind this review is for what I've read so far, which is Chapters 0-2, I do intend to (definitely) read the rest of it, and I'll just...add to my review or..something, we will get there. But I needed to stop here and unload some stuff. Firstly, between the lead-in from Kai's (Kye's) perspective, to the pushy editor metaphor scene at home with the writer to the junk/scrapyard, this is tonal whiplash at its absolute best. I legit love that. I don't want to get comfortable. Let me just say that when we entered the scrapyard, within like four sentences I was choked and stifled. Blerrgh! Rad. But previous to that, the scene with Kai (Kye?) being all pushy-but-not-pushy, I loved the way the writer was thinking about that, like...I wish I could click over but I'm afraid I'll lose my review. The things like "He did not look like one concerned about the serious business of wtiting." "Did not obey the logistics of the page" Even comparing his hair to ink. I mean you said it better than that. and I loved that in this particular character. WRITER'S VOICE: Unique, distinct, not fitting in any peg-hole yet not weird just to weird. Highest possible marks. CHARACTER VOICES: Distinct enough without being caricatures. Shin is my favorite (probably supposed to be) I'm already worried about Loona (that's a good thing.) I like Shin's optimism. Like: (paraphrasing badly again) "Do it or no more beer for you." "Alright dammit." *Thinks later* Grandpa's got a heart of gold! Gimme some good old optimism over grimdark sludge any day. My only thing is: I enjoyed the very very beginning with Kai (Kye?) but I'm kind of afraid it might give people the wrong idea. After I read that and then dove in, I did NOT expect to find what I did find. I just don't want people to maybe turn away before they dig a little deeper and find the true treasure beneath. FINAL WORD: I have no idea where this is going, and I am definitely a long for the ride. I'll keep commenting and stuff. VERDICT: Dug muchly and extracted mch radness from within. 5* "
Kai's perspective is pure gold
"Really enjoyed the unconventional intro. Kai has a distinct, cynical voice that pulls you in right away. Breaking the fourth wall can be risky, but here it sets the right balance between dry humor and genuine dread about whatever cosmic setup is happening. The pacing is snappy and the concept stands out completely from the usual web fiction tropes. Adding this to my library."
My name is kai, Being the work's ceiling, even the author must look up.
"Since English is not my first language, there might be some mistakes in this chapter. As a Vietnamese author, I hope you can understand. Thank you for reading!"
