Chapter 1Beginning of the Meeting

At a TransJakarta bus stop, an eighteen-year-old girl stood clutching her rucksack to her chest.

Angela Ashford glanced at the watch on her left wrist before letting out a long sigh.

“Damn... I hope I’m not late.”

It was her first day as a student at Royal Campus University, the most prestigious private university in Indonesia. The university was known as a gathering place for the children of conglomerates, celebrities, government officials, and outstanding students from across the country.

Angela had been accepted through the National Achievement Scholarship programme.

The opportunity was far too valuable to waste.

A few minutes later, the bus stopped right in front of the university gates.

Angela stepped off and immediately froze.

The towering black iron gates bore the university’s golden emblem at their centre. Beyond them stood the main building, designed in a blend of modern and classical architecture, surrounded by neatly landscaped gardens and a magnificent fountain in the forecourt.

Students walked back and forth in fashionable clothes. Rows of luxury cars filled the car park—BMWs, Mercedes-Benzes, Porsches, and even Lamborghinis lined up as though they were nothing out of the ordinary.

Angela glanced down at her slightly worn white canvas shoes and gave a small smile.

“Looks like... I’m the only one who came here by TransJakarta.”

She slowly shook her head.

“It’s fine.”

“I’m here to study, not to show off.”

She had barely taken a few more steps into the university grounds when—

VROOOM!

The roar of a sports car engine shattered the peaceful morning atmosphere.

A black Rolls-Royce Phantom entered the campus grounds, followed by two luxury SUVs.

The students walking nearby instinctively moved aside.

“That’s Raymond Wijaya!”

“The Campus Prince is here!”

“I heard he only got back from Singapore last night.”

Several girls immediately fixed their hair, while others hurriedly raised their phones to take pictures.

Angela frowned in confusion.

“Who’s that?”

A female student standing beside her turned around.

“You’re a fresher?”

“Yeah.”

“That explains it.”

The girl gave a faint smile.

“That’s Raymond Wijaya.”

“The only son of Wijaya Group, one of the biggest conglomerates in Indonesia.”

Angela followed her gaze.

A tall young man stepped out of the car with calm, measured movements. His black hair was neatly styled, while his black shirt and matching blazer gave him a simple yet sophisticated appearance.

His gaze was cold.

His face was almost completely expressionless.

Despite dozens of eyes being fixed on him, Raymond showed absolutely no interest.

He simply walked straight ahead, ignoring everyone around him.

“He’s really famous, isn’t he?” Angela asked.

The girl chuckled.

“Famous?”

“He’s the Campus Prince.”

“If there’s one student who holds the most influence around here, it’s him.”

Angela merely gave a brief nod.

“Oh.”

To her, Raymond was simply a rich student who happened to have been born into a wealthy family.

Nothing more.

While checking the campus map on her phone, Angela quickened her pace towards the Faculty of Visual Communication Design.

But because she was too focused on the map, she failed to notice someone approaching from the opposite direction.

Thud!

She collided with the man’s chest, sending the books in his arms scattering across the floor.

“Ouch!”

Angela immediately crouched down.

“Sorry... I didn’t mean to.”

Before she could pick up her sketchbook, a hand reached down and picked it up first.

Angela slowly looked up.

Their eyes met.

For the first time.

Raymond held the sketchbook out to her.

“Here.”

Angela took it with an awkward smile.

“Thanks.”

Raymond gave a brief nod.

“You’re welcome.”

Without saying anything else, he walked away with Kevin, Rio, and Arga.

Angela watched his back as he disappeared into the distance.

For some reason, that brief encounter, which had lasted only a few seconds, left behind a feeling she could not quite explain.

She had no idea yet...

That little collision that morning would become the beginning of the biggest secret of her life—a secret that would eventually make her The Secret Wife of the Campus Prince.
