PROLOGUE
Arhaan’s POV
I was never meant to touch her. Never meant to look at her twice. Not when she was my enemy’s sister. Not when she belonged to a world untouched by blood and sin—the very things I was made of.
But obsession doesn’t ask for permission.
One glance was enough for it to sink its claws into me, curling around my ribs, tightening until walking away felt impossible. She looked at me like she didn’t know what I was and that ignorance became my undoing.
One touch, one lingering second of eye contact and every rule I had ever lived by shattered like glass beneath my feet.
I had conquered cities. Broken men. Ended lives without hesitation. I never lost.
Yet standing in front of her, I realized something terrifying,
She was the only war I could never win.
Kiara’s POV
I should have said no.
When he came to me,bleeding, dangerous, carrying violence in his eyes, I should have turned him away. Because the moment I agreed to treat his wounds, everything I had built myself to be began to crumble.
He is lethal. He is wrong. He is the kind of man I was taught to fear.
And yet, like a fool, I wanted him with a hunger that felt feral, like a starving thing finally tasting sin.
One touch and my skin burned, erasing every boundary I had ever carved around my heart. Every warning screamed at me to run, but my body betrayed me long before my mind could catch up.
I was strong enough to save lives. Strong enough to face death every day.
Just not strong enough to save myself from himC
